Chapter 3

Oliver

Why would she run away? What have I done? I was afraid of what the other person would think about me and I feel nervous. She is not an ordinary person she is our mate, my wolf yelled inside my head. I wanted to follow her, but John stopped me. 

- Alpha, why are you behaving like this, I do not understand.

- I do not need to answer anyone. But if you want to know, she is my mate.

He laughed and spoke:

- That is not true Alpha, she has a mate but was rejected.

I was shocked, who would reject a perfect creature like her?

- Why did he do that? Who is he?

- It was me. he smiled.

- Why? I asked him.

- Because she is an omega. I am the Alpha, I want respect and with her by my side,  I would never get it and that is why I had to reject her. 

I wanted to see if she is okay, so I mind-linked Noah and told him. "Show him, what happens when someone insults or hurts your Luna." He just nodded and smirked.

I went toward the kitchen, I could smell her scent, but this time filled with tears. I opened the door and entered. She was scared. I came near her. 

- Please do not be scared. I will not hurt you, you do not need to be afraid of me.

- Why are you here? she asked him with a low voice.

- Because I want to help you.

She wanted to say something more, but she passed out. I lifted her body and took her out of that dirty basement. I saw a random woman and came near her.

- Where can I find the pack doctor? I asked her. 

She took me to the small clinic and left. I went inside and the doctor was near me in a second. 

- What happened? the doctor asked me.

 I told her everything with concern in my eyes.

- Okay put her on the bed and please go outside so I can check her. she told me.

A few minutes later the doctor came out.

- Is she okay? I asked her

- She had an injury on her head when I treated her, it has not healed properly, but if she has a lot of stress so please try not to stress her because it can have consequences. 

- Yes doctor.

She left and I entered the room. I looked at her and spoke gently.

- Please baby, wake up, I will make everything better, you will be treated like a queen, and nothing or anyone can hurt you, I promise you that. I love you so much.

Emma

I wake up, my head hurts. It takes a lot of effort to open my eyes, and when I do that I can notice I am on a bed and I look around. A girl comes in. She is a nurse. She does not hate me but also does not like me. She noticed I am awake.

- So you are awake. she said 

She slowly turns toward the sofa and I can see a man sleeping on the sofa. I can not see his face. She goes near him, and touches his shoulder, she is waking him up. 

He is finally awake and turns around. It is Alpha Oliver. He looks at me with gentle eyes and a worried look on his face. The nurse slowly got out of the room.

- What are you doing here? I asked him. 

- I brought you here because I wanted to make sure that you are okay. 

He was smiling and he had a strange look in his eyes, it was like he felt love for me. I did not know what to say. I looked at him and the only thing I could do was ask him. 

- Why? I could not believe that there was anyone that cared about me and wanted to make me feel better.

- Because..... Well, I can not say why now, but trust me you will understand it in time, please just trust me.

I did not say anything, I did not know what to say, I was scared but also I felt honored that someone like that could worry about me, wants to take care of me, and maybe he will take me away to his pack and take care of me,  maybe I will not be the omega that I am in this pack, and maybe just maybe he will treat me better than my pack and the alpha and luna that are always beating me and ordering me around. I wanted to believe in fairy tales, I wanted to ask Ava, but I could feel she is too weak to contact me now, so I decided to give him a chance and trust him. Then I nodded.

Oliver

I watched helplessly as she was trembling and screaming, I did not know what to do, I have never been in this kind of situation. I usually smile when others are afraid of me, but I do not want her to be afraid of me. I am useless, I can not make my mate feel good. After what looked like hours she calmed down, it took a lot of effort, I pushed at the wall, a few glasses were thrown around, and a couple of nurses to make her feel safe. When she calmed down, I stood beside her, her eyes were closed, but she was not sleeping. I sat on the chair beside her bed and was thinking about Noah and what he had done with that sleazeball alpha John, but I was sure that was not good for him. I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw the nurse, I looked at her in anger and confusion. What the hell is she doing my wolf asked in my head. Please my head is already hurting, do not make it more complicated, let's find out what she wants. I looked at her, she was smiling. I do not like her, I shrugged her hand off my shoulder, and she was not smiling anymore.

-        What do you want? I asked her.

-        You baby, I want you. Why are you here, when we can spend some quality time together? She said.

She failed. I stood up and faced her.

-        How dare you? The person in the bed has a name, Emma, she isn't a nobody and if you think I will leave a gem like her for you, you are wrong. I saw how you looked at her. I tried to be calm because I did not want my Emma to be more afraid of me than she is, but you successfully annoyed me, get out of my sight now or I will kill you. I said in a calm voice, but she was already so scared that she ran out of the room.

Are the members of the pack stupid? First, the Luna was slutty and stupid, then the Alpha even more stupid, and now the nurse. That is when I heard it, and froze on the spot. I saw Emma, she was crying and I did not know why, I did not know what to do, so I did the most instinctive thing, I started crying.

Emma

I instantly stopped crying when I heard him sniffle. I looked up and saw tears on his cheeks. He saw me looking and came near me. He took my hand in his and there was some sort of electricity, he wiped the tears off my face with his big hands. I do not know what happened to me. I did the same to him. That brought a small smile.

-        Why? I asked.

He was confused I did not know what to answer. I repeated the question, but this time I tried to say it the way he should not be confused.

-        Why are you doing this for me? Why are you here? What is happening? Why am I feeling this?

-        I am doing this because I want to make you feel happy, I want to take care of you, because of the sparks you feel when we touch, I feel them too baby, and I am here for you, I do not care for anyone else.

-        Oh, I said.

-        Why did you cry? He asked me

-        Because you defended me from her, no one has ever done that, I was never important enough. I said.

He pulled me in a tight hug.

-        Hey do not say that, you are very important to me, and I will make sure that you are always happy and satisfied.

-        But why are you doing this?

-        Because you are my mate, baby.

-        No this can not happen, I had a mate already, you can not be my mate.

-        I know baby, John told me everything, he rejected you, but I am your second chance mate and I want you to be happy. I feel blessed to have you as my mate baby, I want to give you everything that he did not give you, please give me a chance, I will do anything. Please, baby.

He begged me, and I was finally having a chance to be happy with my mate, I want to be happy, and I want to give him a chance, but I did not trust him completely.

-        Okay I will give you a chance, but I do not trust you completely, you have to earn my trust.

His expression turned from nervous to happy, to extremely happy, he had such a smile. He pulled me in his hug and hugged me as if his life depended on it.

-        Baby I promise I will gain your trust, I will treat you like a princess and you will not regret this decision. I can not believe I finally found my mate. I am so happy.

I do not know if what I did was right or wrong, but deep in my heart I was starting to feel excited and I finally had hope that I would be happy with him.
