Chapter 6: The Contract

last update publish date: 2026-07-05 01:44:53

It’s morning … Kisha yawned.

She couldn’t believe she slept in a bathtub soaked in cold water, definitely gonna be sick.

It’s 7:00am already, 7am, 7am trying to recall what’s happening by 7:00am.

Ohhh no ! Corey… She got up, took a quick bath, picked out a black suit and pants from her wardrobe with black matching heels to complete her looks. Her hair tied in a bun, a little bit of makeup to highlight her face; She felt secure.

She booked a ride to Legacy Woodwork, the journey was silent and she didn’t want it to end.

Ma’am we are here, Kisha paid him and got down wishing a nice day ahead.

The aura surrounding this company was something she could never fathom in a million years. She was proud of him, that's certain.

Legacy Woodwork remains the No.1 top furniture company in the whole country, far and beyond Stark City.

Rumors spread that he was ruthless in the business world, manipulative and cold. He was feared and respected by all.

Kisha braced herself and she walked in the company passing the receptionist without baiting an eye.

Excuse me, excuse me miss… the receptionist pulled her aggressively by the arm.

Are you blind not to see that you have to go to me? You just barged in like you own this place.

The receptionist gave her a dirty look.

Look! Don't be stupid tell your boss that Miss Prime is in the lobby.

He couldn’t care less if you’re in the lobby, I know what your problem is. The receptionist returned to her post and brought out $5 from her bag. Here, take it and go fuck yourself …. She shoved the money in Kisha’s palm.

“Are you really sure you want to fuck with me?” Kisha scoffed.

Call your boss and tell him ….

Okay then fine, I’ll tell him his bitch is here.

Kisha lost it and gave her a deafening slap, both cheeks.

I’ll make sure you get fired, she looked her in the eyes and she said those words.

Before things could get messy, his assistant, Shawn, intervened.

Miss Prime, what an honour to have you here, Shawn smiled.

He summoned the bodyguard, get this waste out of here, she’s fired.

Her eyes widened, fired! No that can’t be, she was just doing her job.

“Mr Shawn please… I was just… she stammered”

Hold it there! I don’t care what you were doing, you’ll get your pay in advance, pack up Miss Prime is irritated by your presence.

The receptionist knelt before Kisha, pleading, tears filled her eyes.

Ma'am, I am so sorry. I swear I won’t make a silly mistake, I promise.

Her head was spinning, she didn’t want her to lose her job but it’s not her call, she needed to learn her lesson.

Shawn saw through Kisha and led her immediately to the elevator.

“I hate you ! I hate rich people like you, rot in hell” the receptionist cried out as she was thrown out.

Inside the elevator there was dead silence between them.

She didn’t have the energy to say anything. Shawn knew everything that’s happening,he wasn’t ready to drop the bomb on her.

We are here ma’am.

Kisha stepped out, walked confidently towards Corey.

He was discussing with someone, the physique looked familiar.

Look who we have here, your daughter, well.. well.

He had that satisfied look on his face when he saw Kisha’s expression to see her father with him.

All the colour on her face faded.

“Kisha dear, come join us” He said with so much tenderness.

She shakes her head, what are you doing here dad ?

You’ll get to know only if you sit down and we all talk.

She took her seat far from her dad and Corey.

Dear, Mr Lawson signed a multimillion deal with our company, lasting for 5 years.

More like a temporary merge and I want you to head this project.

Why me? Am not your only child … definitely not your favourite.

Behave, will you? He gave her a stern look..

Corey, witnessing the drama unfold, Corey was dissatisfied with Robert’s tone with Kisha.

Mr Prime you shouldn’t force her if she isn’t willing to take up the task; although I’m aware of her capabilities in this business.

No, no she is able and willing, isn’t it?

He squeezed her hand tightly, pulled her in for a hug.

There’s nothing to worry about dear, I am sure you’ll exceed my expectations.

“I hope your mother will be safe after refusing me here” he whispered.

Kisha became stii. The hair on her body stood, goosebumps they say.she knew what this monster is capable of doing.

All her life all he ever did was blackmail her, she’s his puppet that was clear to her.

She gulped, almost choking, I am … uhm … I mean Prime Anchor and Ash Furniture is willing and able to work with Legacy Woodwork.

Good. Great partnership.

My lawyer will draw the binding contract and send it over A&A Furniture, I suggest yours also do the same.

This meeting is over, he stands up and gives Mr Robert Prime a handshake.

“We will do great things together” Robert gave a warm smile.

Let me walk you to the door, he offered.

Robert holds on to his walking stick, not leaning on it, stands straight, and suddenly you remember he’s a 6 '3 even with a limp. Terrifying.

Belonged to his father, grandfather. Tycoon dynasty.

He doesn’t need it, but he’d never been seen without it. He doesn’t use his finger, the stick determines who speaks next.

He turned, Kisha dinner at 7:00pm don’t be late.

He walked out feeling victorious, he was going to crush the generation of Lawson.

Kisha is his biggest pawn in the game. He knows the relationship they shared and was willing to use it to his advantage.

Corey sits down staring at her; she looks pale.

The urge to ask her if she was alright crosses his mind but he shook it off.

“What have you done”? She said in a weak voice.

Don’t you get it? My father doesn't play fair. He’s planning something big behind this binding contact and I hope you don’t regret it.

“She spoke in a fit of rage”

Her head, spinning. Her temperature high from all the drama happening, she reaches for something: chair, wall, him. Her eyes didn’t focus.

She doesn’t crumple pretty. Knees buckle. She goes down hard. Her head misses the coffee table by inches.

Arms under her knees and back in one motion. Like he’s done it before. Like his body remembered hers. “Got you. I got you”

Corey’s footsteps echoed across the wet concrete as he entered the abandoned mill. Every instinct screamed that something wasn’t right, the building was too quiet, too still. It reminded him of a predator waiting patiently for its prey.“Mr. Lawson.” Shawn lowered his voice, "I've searched the perimeter and there’s clearly no sign of movement.”Corey frowned. That doesn’t mean we’re alone. His eyes swept across the vast warehouse, broken machines, rotting timber, dust dancing beneath narrow beams of light. Everything looked frozen in time, except, one light glowed upstairs.“Kisha.” He whispered her name before climbing the old staircase. Upstairs, Kisha refused to look away from Robert Prime. You’ve lied to me my entire life, I find it so hard to believe whatever crap you’re saying.Robert smiled faintly. No, my mistake was that I simply allowed others to tell you their version.“You manipulated me.” Kisha was angry, she was bent on telling him how miserable of a father he is. You use

The rain had finally stopped. Dark clouds still lingered above Stark City, refusing to surrender to the morning sun. Kisha sat alone in her living room, the old photograph resting on the coffee table. Her fingers traced the faded edges for what felt like the hundredth time. The little girl in the picture was undoubtedly her.The little boy standing beside her… Corey. How could that be possible? She searched her memories desperately. Nothing, not a single image or a single voice. Not even the old timber mill looked familiar. Her head began to ache. “No…” She whispered to herself. This doesn’t make any sense. The sound of her phone vibrating startled her, unknown number. Her heart skipped. She answered cautiously, “Hello?” Silence. Then, a calm masculine voice spoke. “Some memories are buried because they were never meant to be remembered.” The call disconnected. “Kisha?” She stared at the phone in disbelief. Who knew her name? Who was watching her? At Legacy Woodwork, Corey had

The silence inside the hospital room was unbearable. Kisha sat motionless on the edge of the bed, her fingers tightening around the white blanket. She could still hear Brenda’s voice. “Corey will probably be waiting for me.” The words echoed in her mind like a cruel melody. She laughed bitterly.“So this is what heartbreak feels like.” She wasn’t angry, not anymore instead she was exhausted. Her heart had simply grown too tired to fight.A soft knock interrupted her thoughts.“Come in.” The door opened slowly. It was the nurse. “Miss Prime, the doctor has discharged you. You’re free to leave whenever you’re ready.” Kisha nodded while whispering, “Thank you.”The nurse hesitated for a second, there is… one more thing. She handed over a small cream-colored envelope. It was delivered about twenty minutes ago, but it doesn't have a sender’s name.Kisha nodded as she received the envelope. “For me?”“Yes.” The nurse smiled politely before leaving. The room became silent once again. The silence inside the hospital room felt heavier than before. Kisha remained seated on the edge of the bed, the folded letter still trembling between her fingers. She had read the message more than five times, yet the words refused to make sense. If you want to save Corey Lawson… come alone. Her heartbeat echoed loudly in her ears. Who sent it? Why now? And how did they know everything?A knock on the door startled her. She quickly slipped the letter beneath her pillow. “Come in.”Mama Uyioku walked in slowly, leaning on the nurse for support. Despite the weakness written across her face, the warmth in her smile remained unchanged. “My stubborn girl.”Kisha forced a smile. You should be resting, Mama.“And leave you alone with that troubled face?” Mama chuckled softly before taking a seat beside her. I’ve watched you since you were little. Every time you’re hiding something, your eyes become restless.Kisha lowered her gaze. “I don’t want to drag anyone else into my problems.”“My ch

The room was silent except for the steady rhythm of the heart monitor. Kisha lay motionless, staring at the white ceiling. Brenda’s visit had left a bitter taste in her mouth. Every word she had spoken replayed in her mind like an endless recording.“Corey and I went out for lunch…”“His mother treats me like a daughter-in-law…”“He needs stability.”Kisha let out a dry laugh. So this is what my life has become.A knock interrupted her thoughts. “Come in.”The door creaked open slowly. Mama Uyioku stepped inside with the help of her walking stick, refusing the nurse’s assistance.“My sweet girl.” Kisha immediately sat upright. Mama, you shouldn’t be walking around. “And who are you to scold an old woman?” Mama teased with a faint smile.Despite everything weighing on her heart, Kisha couldn’t help smiling. “You never listen.”“I learned from you.” They laughed softly. For a brief moment, the world outside disappeared. Mama reached for Kisha’s hand.“I saw Brenda.”Kisha’s smile vanishe

“The smell of doom” Brenda thought wandering aimlessly. How and why should she compete for his love? Okay that’s fine by her but for fucking attention, that’s absurd!I want what I want!, whatever madness it takes to ruin him totally, I'm gonna do it anyway. She was boiling with rage inside, rage from the fact that she had to dress up extravagantly with heavy makeup just for him to come up with a pathetic excuse of not wanting to see her.Seems like the battle line has been drawn, Corey Lawson.“I’ll make sure you fall head over heels for me so that you won’t be able to focus on anything or anyone else but me.” She smirked. Her imagination runs wild, her and Corey together on a get away boat. Enjoying their life to the fullest, making out on the island, stroking his dick as his sanity goes in search for her soul. She can feel it. Almost everything he is doing to her mind, soul and body. The pent up feeling of lust, bondage and discipline session.“Gosh, I super love it” she snapped ba
