Mark had been worried about Lily all weekend but had no excuse to see her now and make sure she was okay for himself. They weren’t friends. She didn’t even seem to like him that much considering the insults she hurled at him when he tried talking her out of being bait.

That had worked out so much better than he could have imagined. He truly had been expecting the worst.

Of course he was glad things worked out for everyone involved and that the police miraculously hadn’t come bothering Angelina about what happened. The problem was that it would reinforce the idea that Lily had done the right thing.

What she did was horribly reckless. She got herself hurt; she could have died! It was incredibly unlikely she would ever find herself in the same situation again but still…if she ever found herself in a position where she could jump dangerously into the fray, she would probably do it again because it worked out for her last time.

Mark didn’t even have the right to worry about her or lecture
