Get your filthy hands off the pup, Seraphiel”

A voice reverberated through the hall startling everyone primarily, distracting them from the heinous sins which had just occurred. A Vampire getting involved with a wolf? Abominable.

Aldric walked forward slowly, his boots clacking against the marble floor, each step deliberate and controlled.

I watched him approach with a strange mix of dread and relief twisting in my chest.

He was dressed in dark ceremonial cloaks, tailored to his frame, the fabric heavy with rank and history. Wolves parted instinctively, creating a path straight to me.

I watched how much presence he commanded, everyone was drawn to him regardless. Tearing away my focus to glance at Seraphiel who still was staring at Aldric, only he looked excited and his eyes dripping with.. amusement? What a weirdo.

Aldric stood before me but not once did I see him glance at me, I clenched my hands further into a fist, embarrassment sinking into my features like ink poured on paper, I felt ashamed.. suddenly feeling itchy and uncomfortable in the gown that I once felt happy in.

His eyes were locked on Seraphiel, sharp and cold.

Seraphiel finally released my hair and turned fully toward Aldric, a slow smile spreading across his pale face. His crimson eyes gleamed with unmistakable amusement.

“Well, well,” Seraphiel drawled, clapping his hands softly. “If it isn’t my beloved rival. You always do know how to make an entrance.”

Aldric stopped a few steps away from him.

“Leave,” he said simply.

Seraphiel laughed, the sound echoing too brightly in the tense hall. “Oh, come now. I was only helping your… guests. You wolves have such strange ways of showing hospitality.”

I commended Aldric’s response to his theatrics, I for one would have pounded the idiot to smithereens but Aldric didn't as much twitch.

Giving a characteristic condescending look to the inwardly seething vampire he announced terrifyingly gently..

Aldric’s gaze sharpening. “The party is over.”

He turned his head slightly, addressing the room without raising his voice.

“Eliana Kael,” he said calmly. “You will report to me in three hours.”

The lycan princess went pale.

“Yes, Alpha Heir,” she whispered.

Aldric turned away as if Seraphiel no longer existed.

That was when the vampire moved.

Not closer. Not threatening.

He leaned toward me, voice low and intimate, meant only for my ears.

“Careful, little Zero,” Seraphiel murmured.

Then he stepped back and dissolved into a storm of bats, vanishing into the vaulted ceiling.

The hall erupted into whispers.

I stood there, shaking and lost, I genuinely did not know what to do. Where to go. Whether I was supposed to follow or stay.

Then Aldric stopped.

He turned his head just enough for me to see his profile.

And looked at me.

Just once.

That was all it took.

I followed him.

His room felt colder than before.

The moment the door closed behind us, the silence pressed in, thick and heavy. Aldric did not offer me a seat. He did not speak. He removed his cloak slowly and set it aside with deliberate care.

I stood near the entrance, hands trembling, the gown clutched tightly around my body.

“Take it off,” he said.

My breath stuttered.

“What?”

“My clothes,” Aldric clarified, finally turning to face me. His expression was unreadable. “Remove it.”

My cheeks burned. “I… why?”

“Because I said so.”

I swallowed hard and obeyed.

My fingers fumbled with the fabric as I stretched trying to unbutton the fastened clasps on his solid breathing muscles, I tried to not show how uncomfortable I felt, one button, and two until the last in eerie silence.

I slipped out the shirt going behind him and marveled at how flexible his muscles were.

I had half the mind to touch them, feel the surging life beneath it.

But Aldric’s eyes moved over me immediately..

“Lower your hands.”

I hesitated.

He took one step closer.

I lowered them.

“Name,” he said.

“Matthuea Jade Farrow,” I replied quietly.

His brow twitched. “That is not the name you reacted to earlier.”

I clenched my jaw. “I prefer Zero.”

“Zero,” he repeated slowly. “Why.”

I hesitated, then whispered, “Because Jade… Jade is feminine.”

Silence stretched.

Then Aldric stepped closer, close enough that I could feel the heat of him.

He reached out suddenly and pinched the side of my neck, just below my jaw...

“Who dressed you in a gown?” “Eliana Kael?”

My breath hitched, throat dry, I could feel him raking his eyes all over me and that made me gulp intensely..

The pressure of his hands on my neck was tightening slowly.

Suddenly.. his hands slipped behind me to the corset that held my waist tight, feeling the ropes and I startled instinctively pressed on his body, flinching away at how warm he felt.

“Mr Aldric?” My voice came out soft in the quiet room. But all I got was a shush, one hand to my lips the other loosening the rope. My body shivered. We were in such an untoward position.

The alpha heir towering over me, one hand on my face, the other on my waist, my two hands on his chest, my eyes wide and wet..

It felt incredible. I could see him. I could touch him and feel him.

He towered all over my senses, I felt… just maybe I could take a lick of his skin, so magnificent staring at me in the face.

Simultaneously.. the moment his hands made contact with my skin was the moment my mouth unintentionally had a lick of his nipples.

We both stiffened.

Realisation setting in.

And “Get out” was all he said.

And cry? I did cry.

How could he? I thought.. my body occasionally remembering how I was at peace in his arms and shivering constantly. I was outside his door still in my ball gown.

A sudden shiver…. My tongue on his body.

Fuck.. he felt so good.

I made him stiffen.

My eyes shined bright. He was probably so shocked. I silently laughed, served him right. Hmph.

My face turned soft.. how dare he touch my waist without permission.. I ignored the soft bites of arousal coursing through me as it was way above my brain power to think about why I was having a hard on for a man.

  • Sinful Desires: Fatal bonds   CHAPTER 139— Annihilation

The scout came racing through the eastern gate at dawn, his horse lathered and trembling. He threw himself from the saddle and ran toward the shrine, his face pale with terror. "The Mo," he gasped. "Thousands of them. They are coming through the pass. They have siege weapons. They have war beasts. They have everything." The village erupted into chaos. People ran to their homes, gathering their children, their belongings, their weapons. The city gates groaned as they were pulled shut. The walls, ancient and strong, were manned by every able body. Women took up bows. Children carried water to the defenders. The old prayed to the mountain for protection. I stood on the balcony of our home, watching the preparations. The frost in my core was calm, patient. The beast within me was awake, eager. I had known this day would come. The Mo would not stop. They would never stop. Not until they were destroyed. Aldric appeared beside me, her wolf form already shimmering at the edge of her

  • Sinful Desires: Fatal bonds   CHAPTER 138— Delegation

The morning sun cast golden light across the sanctuary, warming the stone and making the flowers shimmer. Jade sat in the garden, his robes flowing around him, the crown of blossoms still woven into his hair. Aldric was beside him, her head on his shoulder, her gold eyes half closed. Seraphiel lounged in the shade, his shadows curling lazily around his fingers. Elias sat on the wall, his wings catching the light, his purple eyes scanning the horizon. It was a perfect morning. Then Elias's wings stiffened. "Company," he said. "Coming through the eastern pass. A delegation, by the look of it." Jade rose slowly. The frost in his core stirred, not with alarm, but with interest. "Who?" Elias's eyes narrowed. His voice was flat. "Yao. The council has sent delegates." Aldric stirred instantly.. "Delegates, do we seem like their subjects?" "Tell them that," Elias said dryly. "They seem to have forgotten." The Yao delegation entered the village an hour later. They were a small grou

The spies stood frozen in the garden of light, their faces masks of terror. Kelthar's blade lay on the ground where he had dropped it. Vex's fangs were bared, but not in hunger. In fear. The priests' blind eyes were wide, their illusions shattered into fragments of light that drifted like dying stars. Jade rose from his throne of flowers. His robes flowed around him like water, the gold dust on his skin catching the mountain's eternal glow. He walked toward the spies, his steps silent, his presence overwhelming. "You came to my home," he said, his voice soft and musical. "You wove your illusions. You planted your seeds of doubt and fear. You thought you were clever." He stopped before Kelthar. The dark elf trembled, his centuries of experience meaningless before this being. "But you forgot something," Jade continued. "This is my mountain and these are my people. Kelthar opened his mouth to beg. No sound came out. Jade raised his hand. The frost answered, not cold, but wa

  • Sinful Desires: Fatal bonds   CHAPTER 136—The Spies in the Garden

The mountain rose before them, its peaks cloaked in golden light that seemed to pulse with a heartbeat of its own. Kelthar of the Shadow Veil studied it from the treeline, his black eyes narrowed against the glow. He had been a spy for three centuries, had infiltrated fortresses and palaces and temples that made this sanctuary look like a child's playground. But something about this place made his skin crawl."The wards are strong," hissed Vex, his partner, a vampire with hunger always lurking behind her red eyes. "I can taste them on the air. Old magic. Mountain magic. almost the kind that remembers when the world was young."Kelthar nodded. "That is why we are here. The priests will handle the wards. We just need to get inside and plant the seeds."Behind them, the priest team worked in silence. Four of them, Masters of Illusion from the deep temples of the Mo kingdom. They wove their magic like silk, threading it through the mountain's defenses, creating gaps that would go unnotice

  • Sinful Desires: Fatal bonds   CHAPTER 135 —The Training Ground

The mountain's great hall had been transformed. Lyra and her people had carved out a training ground at the sanctuary's heart, its floor made of polished white stone that seemed to glow with its own light. The walls were lined with ancient sigils, wards that would contain any power unleashed within. I stood at the center, my new robes of deep blue and silver flowing around me. The power hummed in my veins, eager and alive. Across from me, Aldric, Seraphiel, and Elias waited. Aldric had shed her crimson gown for training leathers that hugged her small frame. Her gold eyes blazed with anticipation. She had been restless for days, her wolf yearning to run, to fight, to test her new limits. Seraphiel wore simple black, his scars visible beneath the thin fabric. He moved with a fluid grace that had returned with his healing. The shadows that clung to him seemed darker, hungrier. Elias was bare chested, his wings folded tight against his back. His purple eyes were bright with exci

  • Sinful Desires: Fatal bonds   CHAPTER 134— One more time

The power still hummed in my veins like living lightning, warm and insistent, demanding more than just release. It sharpened every sense, turning the soft glow of the mountain’s eternal light into something almost alive. My body felt renewed, stronger, yet the hunger remained. Aldric lay beside me, flushed and beautiful, her crimson gown still bunched around her waist, her thighs glistening with our combined release. She looked up at me with those gold eyes, a slow, knowing smile curving her lips. Seraphiel and Elias stepped fully into the room, closing the door behind them. Their gazes were dark with the same desire I felt echoing through our bonds. The air thickened again “Come here,” I said, my voice low and commanding. The new power laced my words, drawing them forward like a magnet. Aldric sat up, her hand still in mine, and pulled me into a deep kiss. Our tongues tangled with renewed hunger. I tasted myself on her lips from earlier, and it only fueled the fire. Seraphiel

Classes were still weeks away from me attempting to waltz in again because the moment I tried logging into my student portal, the system flagged my account for “additional verification.” A polite way of saying someone higher up was dragging their feet. They definitely believed her too, no one belie

The university email had barely been open for thirty seconds when my phone lit up with notifications again. Not congratulations. Not even the grudging “welcome back” messages I’d half-expected from a few debate teammates. It was a forwarded screenshot from an anonymous campus confession page. T

I told myself I was going to apologize, the hurt I felt in my soul watching them walk away from me due to my stupid pride and choice to prove something that was already obvious. I had to apologize. If it's the last thing I do. I wouldn't plan the conversation. I told myself I’d bring it up cas

They called it an emergency convocation. The great hall had never felt so suffocating.
