"Whoohooo! We've missed the bar-time, girls. Let's head straight to the club; it's club-time!" Vera, Ixora's best friend since high school, exclaimed in excitement as they entered the gate of A-Good-Night and heard the distinctive roars of bands and music.
All eyes turned to the three of them. They looked absolutely stunning, but gasps escaped people's mouths at the sight of the twins. They wore black gowns that barely covered their hips, hugging them tight, accompanied by big diamond earrings, necklaces, and silver heels. Everything matched perfectly, and they appeared stunningly identical.
Ixora glared at her best friend, adjusting her gown slightly. "We said we were going to the bar, Vera, not the club. This gown is so uncomfortable."
"Your friend's right, bar-time is over. Look, the club is already heating up," Cherry chimed in, scanning the crowd for attractive men.
"But Cher, you said the bar—" Ixora began to protest.
Cherry grinned mischievously. "You can go to the bar, Ix. We'll meet up later. A girl's gotta club tonight!" She had already started making her way towards the club.
"Yeeeeh!" Vera seconded, following Cherry.
Ixora sighed, resigned. Not wanting to let her twin out of her sight, she followed them.
Inside the club, loud music thumped, dim lights created a dance floor spectacle, and the three of them headed to the bar for drinks before joining the dancing crowd. Even before they reached the middle of the dance floor, they were surrounded by men, many of them newcomers to the club.
"His butt is just too sexy," Cherry thought as she eyed one of the guys dancing with her. He had his eyes on her too, and she grinned seductively. She allowed the guy to rest his arms on her waist as she moved sensually with the music.
"Let's step away for a bit, what do you think?" the man whispered into her ear.
A quickie, huh? Cherry thought, glancing at Ixora, who was engrossed in dancing with Vera. She smiled widely. "I'm game, let's go," she replied, guiding the man away from the dance floor.
As soon as they were out of the crowd and away from the music, Cherry all but dragged him into a dark corner hidden from view. She faced him and, for the life of her, couldn't remember his name.
She shrugged; she didn't need to know it. "I should warn you, Sexy, my twin sister is a cockblocker, so we need to be quick," Cherry said as she began to fumble with his belt buckle.
Sexy laughed, "Your twin prevents you from having sex? Why in the world would she do that? You're a grown woman," he said, assisting Cherry in unbuckling his belt.
Cherry waved one hand dismissively. "Hallelujah, at least someone agrees. It's a bit of a long story, but we can save that for later. Now...?" She trailed off as she pushed his pants down.
She sighed; he wasn't as well-endowed as she had hoped, considering how attractive he was. Then she shrugged; he would do. With that thought, she reached into her purse with a smile to get a condom, only to open it and find it... condomless.
Damn, damn, damn! Ixoooooraaaa! She screamed in her mind.
"Is there a problem?" Sexy asked when he saw the smile wiped from her face.
Cherry exhaled, praying for patience. "Do you happen to have a condom?"
Sexy grinned, "I've got that covered," and he pulled out a foil-wrapped condom from his discarded pants.
Cherry grinned widely and eagerly shoved her gown up as Sexy prepared himself. They began kissing passionately, both ready for an exciting night.
Just as things were getting heated, a voice shattered the moment. "Woooooh! Cherry, I brought your medication. You know, it's time you take it or that deadly disease will never leave your body forever," Ixora shouted, arm outstretched, holding two pills, as she made her way toward them.
Cherry's eyes widened in disbelief and frustration. Deadly disease!? Seriously!?
Sexy pushed away from her so abruptly that he stumbled and fell. "AIDS?" he stammered, bewildered. "You never said anything about AIDS!"
Cherry couldn't believe what was happening. She glared at her twin, seething with anger. "I told you she's a cockblocker," Cherry grumbled.
Sexy glared at her, before he turned and stormed away.
Her night was ruined. Cherry sighed, shaking her head at the loss. Even she had almost fallen for her twin's act. She knew there would be no more fun tonight.
One of these days, I'm going to kill her. One of these days.
.
.
"I'll kill you one of these days, Ixora. That I'll do," Cherry muttered to her twin an hour later as they exited the club.
Ixora snorted, "If I don't lose my mind first. How could you even attempt to have sex a few steps away from hundreds of people, in a night club of all places, Cherry!? Your level of madness is off the charts!"
Cherry threw her hands in the air, utterly frustrated. "You know what, I think I might as well start sleeping with you. It would make perfect sense since you seem to be the bane of my existence!"
Ixora scrunched up her face in disgust. "Ewww! That's absolutely disgusting, just the thought of it."
Her twin clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Yeah, right. So, leave me the hell alone! We're at a damn party, and we're supposed to have fun. I'm twenty-three, Ixora, not sixteen! You're not my damn mother, for crying out loud!" Cherry fished a cigarette from her bag. "Maybe you should try getting laid too. God knows you need it to get that stick out of your tight ass." She said as she produced her lighter and lit her cigarette.
Ixora raised her chin with a hint of arrogance. "A stick that you planted there, thank you very much, Cher. And no, I don't need to get laid. Unlike you, I don't place such importance on something as trivial as sex." She replied as they entered the bar, heading straight for the high stools facing the bar counter.
The bartender, a young man looking barely out of his teens, eyed Cherry apprehensively. "Ma'am, there's a no-smoking policy on this side of the bar. Please, head to the other side where smoking is allowed." He said cautiously, pointing to the designated area for smokers.
Ixora was well aware of the policy, as was everyone else, including Cherry. Her twin simply doesn't care. Ixora could tell that the bartender had already deduced that; The young man looked like he really didn't want to have this conversation. He was just trying to do his job.
Cherry took another drag from her cigarette and blew the smoke toward the bartender's face. "What are you gonna do about it, lollipop?" She taunted, smirking.
Ixora let out a weary sigh. They had just been released from the town's jail earlier that day, and Cherry was already on the fast track to getting them back there. It was shaping up to be a very long night.
When Cherry blew smoke in the banister's face, daring him about what he was going to do, the poor man looked miserable. He wondered why it had to be on his shift that the Bella Twins had come to the bar. The evil Bella could get him fired, and he couldn't afford to lose this job. He glanced at the good Bella, silently pleading for help.
"Let's just order our drinks and move to the other side of the bar, Cher. You and I know the rules; there's no point in making the poor man squirm for doing his job."
Cherry responded by flipping her the bird.
Ixora kept quiet because she knew her twin was already on edge, having gone too far tonight by stopping her 'fun' in the dark corner of the club. She had lived with Cherry long enough to realize there was a limit to which she could be pushed at a given time.
She glanced sympathetically at the distressed banister, shaking her head in an "I'm really sorry, but there's nothing I can do about it" manner.
The banister turned back to Cherry, pleading, "Please, I don't want any trouble. Just move to the other side, or I'll have to call security to remove you."
Cherry chuckled, taking another drag of her cigarette, "If you try that, you'll be the one getting thrown out tonight, buddy. My fist in your mouth, and your balls on the floor, separated from your dick."
Ixora winced, knowing her fiery twin would follow through with such threats. "Cher, please, let's avoid a scene. I don't want to stay here any longer. It's past midnight; let's just go home."
Cherry ignored her, entirely focused on the banister, who now looked unnaturally pale.
"Leave her alone, Ken. Focus on your other duties," Don Dillon, the owner of AGN, said, emerging from a hidden room inside the bar.
Ixora and Ken the banister both breathed a sigh of relief simultaneously. Thank fuck, there wouldn't be a scene tonight.
Don Dillon was in his early forties, a menacing figure covered in tattoos all over his body, with a single earring dangling from one ear. He was also incredibly wealthy, being the owner of A-Good-Night and other notorious clubs in Castle Lore. Nobody knew why the man refused to marry, even though everyone was aware he was a rich manwhore. Ixora was relieved that he hadn't had the chance to get into her twin's panties, or her twin into his shorts.
"You have a penchant for trouble, Babycakes," Don Dillon drawled as he approached the counter and kissed Cherry fully on the lips.
Oh, hell. Ixora shook her head in sheer bewilderment. I'm wrong; these two have definitely been intimate, she thought, glaring at her twin.
"I'll be wiping the floor with one of your boys one of these days, Dilly," Cherry said, completely ignoring her twin.
Ixora winced at the nickname, expecting a negative reaction from the intimidating man who had a reputation of not taking shit from people. When he didn't react, she shrugged it off. Figures. Only Cherry can get away with that.
Don sighed, "I'll talk to my staff later. Forget what happened and enjoy your drinks, Babycakes. It's on the house."
Cherry extinguished her cigarette and said, "Alright, then. Come on, Crystabella, let's enjoy some free drinks." She turned and walked towards a table.
Ixora shot a glare at Don Dillon, then followed her twin to the table. "What's happening between you and Don Dillon?" she asked as soon as she sat down.
Cherry gave her a very sarcastic look, as if to say, "Duh, do I really have to explain, dummy?"
Ixora rubbed her temples, feeling a sudden headache coming on.
The screech of the door caught Jerald's attention as he sat in the dark corner of the room. Pushing his hair away from his face, he watched as the young girl entered, her long dark hair trailing down to her waist, concealing her face as she brough in his 'food and water.'As she dropped the provisions beside him, he uncurled from his seated position and approached her cautiously. "I'm escaping from here tonight, Berezira," he said, keeping his voice low and non-threatening. Berezira was already too frightened of him, a fear he couldn't blame her for.Her eyes darted up at him, then quickly averted. "That is good. I wish you the best of luck, good master. I..." She paused, a faint shudder running through her small frame. "I am to serve Master Amardad tonight. It's his turn to keep watch. I will try to steal the key to the secret vault from his waist belt."He knew exactly which key she was talking about. The secret vault was the only way out of this underground prison, a hidden passage
"Have you ever thought about getting married, Cherry?" Ixora slurred as she took another swig of her beer.Ixora was a bit tipsy, but then again, it was a girls' night out. They were at the bar while her best friend, Vera, was still at the club.Cherry squinted at her twin with narrowed eyes and shook her head slowly, taking a drag from the cigarette in her left hand. "Nope. That's for losers, Crystabella. Those who can't stand on their own two feet," Cherry stated bluntly.Ixora managed a sad smile. "I've been standing on my own since Mom and Dad passed away, but I still want to get married. I want to have kids." She hiccuped; her head felt like mush. "I just need to find someone who won't profess love one moment and then sleep with you the next."Cherry snorted and leaned in to sniff her drink before downing it, feeling the burn down her throat. "Unlike you, I'm not interested in that fairytale called love. I just take what they offer, that's all. Men are all the same—stupid as hell
COR DEXTRAS HOSPITAL, NEW YORK. "Doctor Jake?" Jake Brown sat in his office, lost in thought, his mind perpetually dwelling on the same painful subject for months now. People often spoke of the emotional pain of heartbreak in relationships, but they rarely mentioned the agony of losing a brother and attempting to move forward. Nothing felt the same anymore, not for him and certainly not for his family. If only Jerald were still alive. "Doctor Jake?" The voice, slightly more insistent, broke through his reverie. Jake lifted his head to find Mara standing before him, her expression etched with concern. Mara was a highly competent nurse who had joined his hospital ten years ago, shortly after it was accredited and commissioned. At twenty-seven, she appeared youthful and beautiful. She had gotten married three years ago and was now the mother of a lovely two-year-old daughter named Ciara. Over time, Mara had grown close to Jake after learning the reason he had left the arm
Cherry Silverbella Moores arrived home that evening to find Ixora lounging on the couch, looking relaxed with her left leg soaking in a bowl of water."What are you up to?" Cherry asked as she plopped down in a seat across from her sister.Ixora grabbed a pillow and tossed it at Cherry, who managed to dodge it, causing the pillow to fall behind her.Cherry glared at her sister and reached into her bag for some bubble gum. "What was that for?" she asked, popping a piece of gum into her mouth.Ixora shot her a pointed look. "Stay away from my stash, Cher. If you take beers from old Bobby's shop, at least pay for them. No need to give poor Chris high blood pressure trying to figure out how to get his payment."Cherry grinned cheekily. "Where's the fun in that?" She waved off her twin's concern. "Forget about that. Tell me about your day. Did you get the job?"Ixora let out a loud sigh as she reclined on the couch, her leg still in the water. "Mr. Ronald was out of town, so I had to leave
"Do you really want people to think I'm your daughter, Good Master?"Jerald paused mid-dinner, his gaze fixed on Berezira across the table. "People might gossip if they find out we're not related but still living together. It could attract unwanted attention, and I don't want Mostafa catching wind of our location," he explained. "Could you call me 'Father' instead of 'Good Master'? I think it might suit you better than 'Daddy.'"Berezira nodded. "Alright...father," she replied before returning to her meal. The girl rarely spoke and seemed older than her years. She rarely left the house, and when she did, it was only to watch birds and animals in the woods nearby. She never ventured far, avoiding social interaction and even leaving the TV off. Jerald was concerned, but he had no idea how to help her. He'd faced bombs, guns, and bullets before, but a withdrawn, twelve-year-old girl scarred by a traumatic past was a challenge beyond his expertise. They ate in silence for a while until Je
."It's not as easy as it looks," Jerald replied with a gruff tone.Ixora couldn't help but smile at his crankiness. She held up her own bag triumphantly. "See this? I'm already done with my groceries, and I've been here less than twenty minutes," she said, sounding a bit smug.Jerald's frown deepened. "Well, good for you," he muttered, turning to go with Berezira. But Ixora wasn't ready to let them off the hook so easily. "Wait, I can help you with yours. You look like you could use some assistance."Jerald hesitated for a moment. He didn't want to spend any more time than necessary with this woman who seemed like trouble, but he also realized that he might not get through his shopping list without help from someone more experienced."Alright, thanks," he finally replied.Ixora grinned widely. "You're welcome. Let me have that..." She took the shopping list from him, and he handed her a bundle of money. She quickly scanned the list. "Looks like there are three items here that you've
Ixora Crystabella Moores quickly withdrew her leg from the woman's handkerchief as she noticed the fear in the woman's reaction. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught the way Jerald was looking at her, and it made her heart tighten. He's looking at me as if I'm just another stranger, like everyone else. Surprisingly, the only person who still clung to her hand tightly was his daughter, Zira.Ixora knelt down beside the woman, took out her own handkerchief, and began wiping the woman's sweat-filled face. "It's alright, please stop apologizing."The woman regarded her with suspicion but continued, "I'm truly sorry—""I'm Ixora, not Cherry," she interjected with a warm smile.Relieved, the woman let out a sigh. "Oh, thank God. It's good Bella. Thank God!" She said emphatically and hugged Ixora tightly. "Thank God it's you, good Bella. I thought I had stepped on Cherry!"Ixora nodded in understanding, waved off the woman's thanks, and walked away.Turning to face Jerald, she couldn't h
Cherry Silverbella Moores despised the beach, and even more so, she loathed the water. However, after spending half the day sleeping, she felt a growing urge to explore. Glancing down from her hotel room, she observed the lively crowd at the beach, ready for some fun. This curiosity lured her out of her room. She strolled down to the beach, carrying a bottle of red wine in one hand, a glass cup, a cigarette, and a lighter in the other. The evening breeze kissed her skin, and she relished in its embrace, her hair swaying in the wind. Dressed in just a bikini and sunglasses, she made her way towards the bustling beach. The shore was teeming with activity - women in bikinis and swimsuits, men in shorts, some already frolicking in the water, while others basked on the sandy shores. Couples played and ran around, families enjoyed quality time, and individuals lounged on reclining chairs.Nonchalantly chewing her gum, she used her keen eyes to scan every male figure on the beach, well aware
