Chapter 3: give it your all or die trying to escape

.

The inside of the room is quite boring, an unexpected view for Althea.

It is her first time seeing anything past the velvet doors, she is not quite sure why she hoped for something a bit less mundane.

Warm yellow light shines on the walls covered by a fading red wallpaper, there is only a double sized bed in the middle of the room and a small bed side table with a single bottle of whiskey and a glass.

No mirrors, no art, nothing.

It is just a regular room.

The man sitting on the bed looks intently at Althea sending a shiver down her every nerve and turning her muscles into stone.

He is quite handsome with his sharp jawline and his toned body that shows even under a suit, nobody would dare to say he isn’t attractive; his eyes are the one place Althea can’t stop looking at.

Those big round eyes, full of excitement like a little kid's eyes would be but also they are cold and calculating. The duality throws Althea into confusion because she doesn’t know what to expect.

It feels like her every move is being monitored, from her chest rising unevenly at the rhythm of her breathing to the vein in her neck expanding and contracting almost invisibly to let the blood flow.

I just wanted to dance.

“I loved your dance, Althea” the man says with a raspy voice.

“You weren’t the only one,” She answers without thinking.

The second the words leave her lips, she regrets them. She opens her eyes in panic and stays quiet hoping this is just a bad dream or praying the man didn’t hear it.

He lifts an eyebrow and looks at the blonde, amused.

“Well, I suppose that is true. You gave quite a performance.”

“Yeah.”

Her tone is cutting and she is not sure why but she can't control her need to defy her buyer. Anyone sane would try to appease the threatening looking guy, try to speak sweetly and beg for mercy though Althea can’t find the strength needed to pray anymore, exhausted from fear pooling in her stomach.

The need to fight takes over her again, fuelling his biting tongue.

“My name is Diaz,” He says standing from the bed and grabbing Althea’s chin forcing her to look at him. “What’s yours, angel?”.

“Althea, actually. Angel is the one with blue hair,” She answers. “You might want to ask for her instead.”

A chuckle escapes Diaz’s lips, unamused.

“You’re a feisty one I see,” he says grinning. “I don’t dislike it however, you were also quite pricy. Your fans’ bids kept increasing and I had to spend more than I was expecting to."

Diaz snaps his fingers twice which makes the man who fetched him from the changing room move from his stand post by the door to get behind Althea.

She tries to turn her head to stay vigilant on both threats but the man holds her chin with more strength.

Althea brings her hand up to slap the other’s hand away and face the man who is standing behind her when she feels cold metal pressing against the back of her head.

She freezes, her hand midway in the air.

“This is Ronan,” introduces Diaz with a sweet smile.

Ronan gives the man a surprised look but doesn’t say anything.

“He is ready to blow your brains out, so I wouldn’t anger him.”

Diaz leaves a light kiss on Althea’s soft cheek before sitting back on the bed.

“This is how it’s gonna work, Althea,” says the brunette rolling the last word mockingly. A sly grin forms on his lips as he talks. “I have two hours before I have to go back to business and that means that you have that time to prove you're worth all the money I paid.”

“What—what if—I can’t?” Althea’s voice breaks slightly due to the knot sitting comfortably in her throat.

In a silent response the gun gets pushed harder against her skull. She gets the message loud and clear.

Oh, right.

He is here to to make me submit.

“I am sure you will give it your all tonight,” answers Diaz

The unmistakable sound of a bullet being pushed inside the chamber echoes in Althea’s ear.

She just wanted to dance.

Sold to Diaz Cartel.Chapter 59: neither life or death .At first, Althea had thought of it as impossible. Soon enough she learnt that everyone knew the Cartel Family had defeated all the other mafias in past, rising to the elite position they enjoy now thanks to the strong loyalty everyone has for their leader. Yet, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. And Althea was the weakest of them all.Surprisingly, collecting information about the weaknesses of the mansion and its security was the easiest part. In the beginning, Althea was overwhelmed by the complexity of the task just to find out that men talk an awful lot when they think the slut sucking them is only there for the drugs. The hardest, and also the most critical detail of the plan was to break the blind trust Diaz had in his inner circle, something he takes so much pride on.Slowly, innocently, Althea carved doubt against Clyde inside Lucius’s mind, poisoning Diaz’s loyal dog for months. Feeding into his obsessiv

"Were you really looking for Clyde to kill him like this?"The brunette cries as she is stabbed again and again, the pain no longer giving her a break to think. But even as she fights to live, she is grateful. Because it is her who's dying."You deserve to die for what you did to her; what you did to me! How could you keep her away from me?" Lucius rambles without noticing who is the receiver of his violence. " She will be better without you. I will take care of her like you never did, and I will love her like she deserves. Everything is okay now. With you gone, Jana will finally love me too."With lost eyes and gone mind, Lucius stabs his on

Sold to Diaz Cartel.Chapter 57: did it have to come to this? .Getting to the room had been easy because of the fight mainly concentrating in the middle of the mansion, but getting to the other side where the entrance and the kitchen were, posed a bigger challenge than Althea expected. Which is why the moment the kitchen comes into view, Althea thanks her past self for leaning the mansion's lay out to perfection. All those sleepless nights finally paying off."HOLY FUCK!" Lucius screams. The raven is ready to leave the kitchen, finally sure that Janina isn't there, nor alive or dead, when he is met with a small body. Of course, with a lifetime of training and experience under his belt, the first thing Lucius does is to bring the small knife in his hand to Althea’s throat. "What are you doing here? Where is Diaz? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?"Still with a knife to her throat, Althea just looks at Lucius, eyes full of surprise. She wasn't expecting this."Ah, sorry, I guess y

Sold to Diaz Cartel.Chapter 54: classical, isn't it? .The windows and mirrors are blurred by condensation when Diaz enters the dance room. Althea is in the middle, unaware of the predatory eyes following her body dancing fluidly to a classical piece. The music is morbid and sad, the violin resounding in the whole room with its sorrow, moving the blonde's body from one side to the other. Althea lets the music move and bend her in different directions until she feels like she is a mere doll being controlled by the changing notes echoing in her bones. It is a beautiful and devastating sight. Somehow, the skinny blonde who couldn't even manage to stand on her own is now gliding on the floor, effortlessly. The way she dances makes Diaz want to cry because as Althea moves perfectly to the rhythm of a weeping violin, Diaz can see and feel the blonde dying. The dead ballad keeps on playing as the brunette's eyes fill with tears and his heart shrinks with the fear of losing the only perso
