The kiss had been perfunctory but I'd felt it all the way from my head to my toes. It wasn't the first time we'd kissed but the second time was better than the first and almost two hours later I was still feeling his lips on mine.

"You're quiet." Leon muttered.

We'd had our first dance as husband and wife and now it was time for best man's speech. I hoped his best friend would say something that would shed light on why Leon acted the way he did. I wanted to know more about my infuriating husband and maybe... understand him a little.

"You like me this way." I replied stiffly. "Quiet."

"Sometimes... I like hearing you talk." He said. "Drowns out the voices in my head."

"What voices?". I frowned. "Do you hear people's thoughts?".

He threw back his head and laughed. "I wish." He chuckled. "But no... they're just voices."

"Did you do something bad?". I inquired. "Did you... maybe kill someone?".

He is an asshole and no matter what happened in the past, he is very wrong to treat her like shit. I hope he chokes someday on his bad behavior and that she leaves him. He is going to be a very bad king if he behave like this toward his wife,
