“You… you—” Hera stammered, barely able to stand. She braced herself with her staff, wobbling as she rose to her feet, disbelief flooding her pale face.

I stood quietly, letting her drink in the sight of me. Despite the calm on my face, rage surged like wildfire underneath my skin.

Memories came rushing in. Memories of what we used to be before her betrayal. Those laughters we’d once shared, bonds I thought would never break.

Until it did.

She’d tore it apart with her betrayal. Stole my child. Murdered the only mortal I ever loved.

I had told myself I’d let it all go. That I’d moved past the pain. That if I ever stood before her face to face again, I’d feel nothing.

Lies.

As I looked at her now, I wanted nothing more than to tear her apart and toss her soul into the deepest corner of the abyss she so rightfully belonged in. Maybe then, she’d get the kingdom she always craved.

“Mortal realm made you rusty?” I asked, my voice calm and mocking. I spun the golden staff in my hand w

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   The King’s Madness

CALANTHAWithin minutes, the packhouse had turned into chaos. Everyone ran in every direction, their screams echoing off the walls as Kaiden’s beast tore through the halls in a violent rampage. Shattered glass, splintered wood, and overturned furniture littered the floors as the ground trembled beneath his roars.Guards scrambled to usher everyone out, barking orders as they tried to keep the evacuation under control.“My Luna! We must leave!” my handmaiden cried, reaching for my arm with trembling hands. “The beast is destroying everything in sight!”I yanked my hand from her grip, my chest heaving with rage and despair, tears burning my eyes.“Let go of me!” I snapped, my voice breaking. “And correction—that is not just a beast. That is the Lycan King!”The pity in her eyes stung. She didn’t understand. None of them did.Ignoring her, I ran down the staircase, my bare feet pounding against the cold floor, my ears filled with the shouts and growls that shook the packhouse.“The king

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   The Prisoners

If there was one thing Slade hated more than anything, it was being pushed around. So, having his hands bound tightly behind his back while the guards shoved him down the dim stone corridor toward the prison wings felt like the ultimate insult. Every rough step made his jaw tighten. His pride was in shreds, and humiliation burned in his chest. But Slade wasn’t a fool. He had no choice but to obey for now. Survival came first. Revenge could wait.As he walked, his thoughts boiled with venom. Cross. That bastard son of his. This was all his doing. The entire downfall, every bit of this mess, had Cross’ filthy fingerprints on it. If not for him, everything would have gone smoothly. No one would have discovered anything. But Cross and that little snake of a girl—Freya—had allied with Kaiden and ruined everything.Slade’s lips curled in a dark smile. He would find a way out. He always did. And when he did, before he even laid a finger on Kaiden, he would deal with Cross, Freya, and that

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   Soured Moment

CALANTHA Alpha Slade and Hera were found guilty.I couldn’t stop the small smile that tugged at my lips as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The maids moved gracefully around me, brushing through my hair, dabbing fragrant oils on my skin, and dusting me with powder that shimmered faintly in the light. All of it in preparation to meet Kaiden.I was finally free.Free from the weight of that cold, suffocating cell. Even though I hadn’t been treated like a typical prisoner and the cell itself was far from harsh, I still hated being locked away—especially for a crime I didn’t truly commit. But then, my smile slowly faded as Tara’s face flashed across my mind.A heavy wave of guilt rolled through my chest, making my stomach churn. The memory of plunging that knife into her over and over again, haunted me. The image came like a shadow I couldn’t shake. Even though I wasn’t in control of myself when it happened, even though it had been Hera pulling the strings, the blood had still

THE NEXT MORNINGKAIDEN—AT THE PACKHOUSESlade and Hera knelt side by side in my grand throne room, surrounded by guards. The guards had their swords drawn and ready for any sudden move from either of them. The elders of the council and the circle of Alphas sat in their designated seats, watching the scene unfold with grave expressions. From my throne, I sat quietly, observing it all, while the court’s elder inquisitor began the questioning.“High Priestess Hera,” he spoke firmly, his voice echoing through the high ceilings, “Based on the recording found on that phone, it’s been revealed that you formed an alliance with Alpha Slade to bring down the Lycan King, murder the Chief Priestess, and falsely accuse the Luna of a crime she did not commit. Is this true?”Even from my position, I could see Hera’s chest rising and falling rapidly. Her hands were still magically bound behind her back—courtesy of Aria’s spell when she brought her here.I couldn't be more thankful to Aria for every

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   We Meet Again

Freya ran with every ounce of strength she had, heart pounding, breath sharp in her throat. Behind her, Max and two others chased her through the forest, their footsteps crashing against the dried leaves and broken twigs on the ground. The cold wind stung her cheeks, but she didn’t slow down. She held the phone tightly in her hand, her lifeline and the only evidence that could finally bring Alpha Slade and High Priestess Hera to justice. She dared a quick glance over her shoulder. The men were getting closer.“Come on, come on,” she whispered to herself, pushing harder.Suddenly, her foot caught on a thick tree branch hidden beneath the leaves. She tumbled forward with a cry, crashing to the ground. The phone flew from her hand and landed a few feet away. Gritting her teeth, she tried to scramble to her feet and reach for it, but a rough hand yanked her back by the hair.“You sneaky little bitch,” Max snarled behind her, his fist twisted in her hair. Freya cried out, trying to free
