CALANTHA

While Kaiden was taken to his chambers to be treated, I was brought into my own chamber to be attended to by a physician. Ezra stayed by my side while Bradley and the Queen remained with Kaiden.

The physician gently checked my body for wounds. He cleaned the scrapes and pressed dried herbs to the small cuts on my arms and back. But while he worked, my mind wasn’t really there.

Everything that had happened in the past few hours kept playing in my head on a loop. I still couldn’t believe it.

I had always felt that something strange was going on in the packhouse, and I knew it had something to do with Kaiden. But I never imagined it would be this serious. That it would be this dangerous.

Still, I wasn’t scared. I didn’t feel like running away, even after what I saw. Even after feeling his claws tear through my back.

All I felt was worry.

Worry for Kaiden.

How long had he been carrying this burden? How long had he been fighting this beast inside him? I couldn’t stop wondering ho

RYKERTHE NEXT DAYI was already losing my patience as we all sat in the dim meeting room, waiting for my brother to show up.It had been almost an hour since everyone gathered, and Cross still hadn’t arrived.I knew him too well. He was doing this on purpose, making us wait and testing our nerves. But as much as it annoyed everyone of us, we couldn’t start without him. This was his coven, and these were his people.Still, I leaned toward my father, who sat beside me, clearly furious even though he was trying to keep a calm face.“Shouldn’t we just start the meeting? What if he doesn’t come?”My father slowly looked at me, his eyes sharp and filled with anger.“You really think Cross is just late for no reason? You know your brother better than that.”I clenched my jaw. Of course I knew.“You wanted him back,” my father added coldly. “So now, we all have to deal with this together...”Before he could finish, the metal door creaked open and everyone turned to see Cross walking in. Even

BRADLEYI had spent the whole day in Kaiden’s chamber, keeping an eye on him while the elder physician came in again to check his condition. Kaiden hadn’t woken up, and worry was beginning to sit heavy on my chest.Later that night, I decided to check on Calantha before heading to my own room to shower and grab something to eat. I had been avoiding her all day not because I didn’t care, but because I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know how she would look at me now that she knew we’d kept such a big secret from her.Luckily, when I stepped into her chamber, she was already fast asleep. With a deep breath, I turned around and walked to my own quarters, heading straight into my chamber. I was dead tired. As soon as I stepped in and began to unbutton my shirt, the door creaked open behind me.I turned, and Hana’s face greeted me.The moment our eyes met, guilt slammed into me and my mind flashed back to the moment I had shared with Eloise yesterday. I pushed the thought away. Not now

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   A Beast and a Woman

CALANTHAKaiden’s body was burning hot and shaking as I held him close. Tears streamed down my face, but I refused to let him go. I didn’t know what was happening to him, but I couldn’t let him go through it alone. Maybe, just maybe, he could find comfort in my arms. Then, I felt something sharp stab into my back. It was like his fingers had turned into claws, digging into my skin and drawing blood.“Kaiden…” I whispered, my voice shaky. “You’re hurting me.”But he didn’t stop. His claws scratched deeper, tearing down my back. His grip tightened, and I could smell blood in the air. A deep, low growl came from him. It didn’t sound human— it sounded like a beast.Suddenly, his hand wrapped around my throat and threw me out of the water. My back slammed hard onto the ground, and I heard something crack. Pain shot through me, and I could barely lift myself up.I looked at him again and my whole world paused.Kaiden was gone. In his place stood a massive creature, almost ten feet tall. It

KAIDEN I sidestepped an incoming blow from one of my opponents, countering him and diving a blow into the side of his stomach—although not so hard. With a painted grunt, he collapsed to the ground, clutching his stomach with his hands.I felt another presence behind me and immediately ducked, just in time before his kick could reach me. Grabbing his leg, I twisted it and flung him to the ground.Breathing hard, I straightened my form again, my gaze lifting. They met with those big, warm olive ones that always melted my heart every freaking time. She was standing next to Ivy, watching me train. And I wondered for how long she had been standing there. She held my eyes for a second before looking away again, her cheek visibly heating up. Just as she turned to walk away, I called her back.“Calantha.”She paused for a moment before turning around to face me.“Come.” I waved her over with a finger. She blinked, confused as always, before slowly walking towards me, closing the distance bet

ELOISEI wrapped my lips around his tenderly as I kissed him, my hand slowly trailing down his stomach, aiming for his cock. But he didn’t kiss me back. And even as I pushed my tongue into his mouth, seeking entrance, I was only met by a stiffened Bradley.Whether he was rigid from shock or from disinterest to reciprocate my kiss, it was enough to cause a stinking feeling of disappointment to sink into my stomach, turning the moment sour. I paused just as my hand was only an inch away from his length. My face burned with embarrassment and I broke the kiss, slowly pulling away from him. What the hell did I think I was doing, forcing myself on someone who didn’t have the slightest sexual interest in me?My eyes welled in tears and even as I blinked them furiously back, those stupid tears fell down my cheek.“Shit.” I cursed under my breath, immediately wiping the tears away with my palm. I couldn’t even look him in the eyes again, and I kept my gaze sideways.“I… I’m sorry.” I gulped.
