ZEVIAN POV

“Welcome to your new hell, Amaris Dormount,” I muttered slowly as I watched her eyes widen in terror.

Immediately, she began shaking violently in the chair, trying to free herself from the ropes I had skillfully tied around her. But her efforts were to no avail.

Then the chair toppled to the ground as it lost balance, causing her head to hit the concrete. She winced in pain.

Something strange bubbled in my chest, but I ignored it. The anger I was feeling was already enough emotion. Every single thought I had narrowed down to one question: How dare she hurt my mate?

“Please… I’m sorry,” she begged as she tried to inch herself toward the door. But seeing that the distance between us wasn’t increasing, and that I hadn’t changed my mind, a stream of tears rushed down her cheeks.

“Please…Zevian,” she said my name ever so sweetly, causing my eyebrows to furrow.

“Even a rogue still has some sort of respect for their family. But you’re nothing but a lowlife who can’t differentiate… first your parents, now your twin? What’s left, Amaris… your biological parent?”

I squatted so I could come face-to-face with her, then used the end of the gun to tilt her face toward me. “Even a dog can differentiate foes from family.”

Although death was currently her biggest fear, I wasn’t going to give her the pleasure of dying. That was mercy, and I’ve never been known for giving my enemies any.

I was simply going to leave her in the same condition as her twin. In a much more painful way, and I’d definitely keep her conscious while I did it.

There was no telling if she’d die afterward, but did I care?

No.

I cocked the gun, aiming at her knees.

“Zevian…Zevian!!” she screamed, shutting her eyes as she anticipated the pain that was to come.

But her screams only angered me more, reminding me of what she had done to my mate. The fact that I had been so close, yet I couldn’t protect her. The fact that when she woke up, she was never going to be the same again.

My wolf stirred inside me. He’d been silent—a wolf as ferocious as mine had been silent for a while.

But I was going to make up for it. I was going to avenge our mate.

“How does that saying go… an eye for an eye?” I said, watching the sickening terror on her face.

But just before I could pull the trigger, just before my boiling blood could be satisfied, the door flew open as the sound of hurried footsteps echoed behind me.

“Zevian, wait,” Lucas, my beta, called from behind me.

I turned to look at him. Beads of sweat covered his face, and he still had on the labcoat he was wearing from earlier when I left the hospital.

“I’m busy,” I said, turning back to the girl who had now shut her eyes tightly, willing herself to disappear into the ground.

“It’s urgent. You need to listen,” he said, approaching.

I swear, I contemplated just getting everything over with quickly and answering my annoying beta, who didn’t know when and when not to interrupt his Alpha. But there was always a pleasure that accompanied slow torture that I couldn’t deny myself, so I stood up and turned toward him.

“What?” I asked, annoyance written all over my face.

“It’s Amaris… Amoria… both,” he stuttered, looking briefly at the girl behind me, who I could still feel was shivering, not even bothering to listen to our conversation.

Good prey.

“Has she woken up again?” I asked.

I had left the hospital in a rush after Amoria slipped into a coma again upon waking up and realizing she couldn’t move most parts of her body. She had cried, convulsed, then suddenly gone silent.

“No… not yet.”

Lucas walked past me, squatting to examine Amaris, who shivered from his touch.

For some strange reason, that didn’t sit well with me.

Whether it was the fact that I didn’t like my prey being soiled by the hands of anyone—even my beta—or the blisters on the places he touched, I couldn’t tell.

But why should I care?

She did worse to my woman.

“What are you doing? I never asked you to leave Amoria to attend to this one.”

“I came just because of this,” Lucas beckoned, pointing at the blisters the ropes had caused, the marks of my claws on her hands, and the bruise on her head from when she fell.

Lucas stood up and pulled me a short distance away.

“Speak,” I said, wondering how much longer he intended to waste my time.

“I don’t think you should be touching Amaris,” he said, still deep in thought.

My brows furrowed as I wondered what nonsense my beta was on about this time.

When he noticed I wasn’t following, he apologized before adding, “You can’t kill her.”

“Who said I was going to kill her? She’s still my sister-in-law,” I lied.

Lucas gave me a look that was all too familiar, one that clearly said he knew what I was about to do was practically equivalent to death… or worse.

But I ignored him and walked back to my prey, who still had her eyes shut.

‘Was she taking a nap?’ I wondered, puzzled by how disoriented yet peaceful her face looked.

“You’re not listening to me, Zevian.”

“Say it already and get the fuck out of here!” I hissed.

“Everything you’ve done to Amaris…it’s happening to Amoria. And when I say happening, I mean every bruise you’ve given Amaris has appeared all over Amoria’s body! This is the first time I’ve come across anything like this in my entire career. I’ve heard of it from my professors, but I never really thought I’d see it—”

Lucas rambled, but I was no longer listening. His earlier words were still echoing in my head.

“Wha… what?” I asked, confused.

“Ahm…you cannot harm or kill Amaris. They’ve become linked.” Lucas adjusted his glasses.

“If she dies, Amoria dies.”

  • Stolen By The Wrong Mate   THE CRACK

AMARIS POV “What have I said about my properties?” The voice came in clear, calm, but harsh, piercing through the partially deafening silence. I struggled. I struggled to open my eyes just to confirm I wasn’t dead yet. That I wasn’t hallucinating his presence. Zevian was indeed here. Standing tall, his gaze fixated on Giaus, who was now lying limp on the ground with a pool of blood surrounding him. Zevian was about to take a step closer to him, but the supposedly limp Giaus dragged himself away, desperate to get as far away from Zevian as possible. “Forbidden… Forbidden,” Giaus stammered before coughing up blood. And all I could think of was, what manner of strength did Zevian possess to render a man barely alive with one hit? “Yet you disobeyed.” Zevian muttered, grabbing Giaus by the collar. “But… but you don’t love her? I was told you hated her. I just wanted to punish her for you,” Giaus ranted while being lifted off the ground by Zevian. “Yes, I hate her… but that

  • Stolen By The Wrong Mate   THE THREAT

AMARIS POV One year later. The sound of wine glasses clicking against each other filled the room as guests smiled at one another, muttering little pieces of gossip while the men discussed the next best business ideas or the companies they planned on boycotting in the new year to come. It was New Year’s Eve. A year since I was said to have paralyzed my twin. A year since I became her replacement. Not the worst thing that could happen, though. But certainly not the best, having to be around the one person I couldn’t have. Zevian was an Alpha, and an Alpha needed a Luna, hence they were considered weak or unfit without one. And Zevian, seeming not to want to disclose Amoria’s state to the world, protected her while I became the stepping stone. To the world, I was Amoria Dormount. Zevian Frost’s wife. But inside the Frost mansion… I was just his real wife, recuperating life support. “I still can't get over how pretty your wife is,” one of the older-looking men said, gazing

  • Stolen By The Wrong Mate   TWO MATES?

ZEVIAN POV I stared at the paper, looking at the picture that was staring back at me. The face of a girl with flushed cheeks and black hair scattered over her face like she had run her hand through it an alarming number of times. Her luscious pink lips were narrowed into a pout. But that wasn’t what had caught my attention, leaving me stunned for hours. The eyes… Her eyes were the shade of a moss hidden in shadow. The green jewel coneflower. A color that only one twin had—Amaris. I stared at the file again, the one I had ordered Lucas to bring for me. When I felt something wasn’t adding up. And slowly, the realization that Amaris was the one who I had met at the club that night sank in. I stood up from the chair, unable to control the range of emotions flowing through me. Something was wrong. I definitely felt the mate bond that night. That was why I did everything I could to track down the woman I had shared the best night of my life with. And I finally found her… or

  • Stolen By The Wrong Mate   THE SWITCH

AMARIS POV“Lied? What do you mean?” I asked, confused. I’ve always hated when people lied to me, so lying to others was never an option. I could withhold the truth, but never lie in serious situations.“When was the first time you saw me?” he asked.“Yesterday?”“Wrong, and don’t even try to say the wedding because I wasn’t in town for it. We’ve met before. That day at the club… I was sitting right next to Zevian.”“What day?” I gulped, swallowing the hot saliva that had gathered in my throat. “That night. It was all you, Amaris—the tipsy girl who shamelessly tried to woo Zevian… the one who told Zevian that if he didn’t agree to marry you, you were going to kidnap him to an abandoned island and wife him. Those were your exact words, if I’m not mistaken.”My breath caught in my chest.“I remember because I found it amusing. No one has ever had the guts to flirt with Zevian in that manner. I mean, look at him. He terrifies even me sometimes.” “I don’t know what you're talking about

  • Stolen By The Wrong Mate   MESMERIZING MENIAC

AMARIS POV Morning came sooner than expected, and the only thing that alerted me was the bright ray of sunlight spilling through the window into the room. A yawn escaped my mouth as I climbed out of bed. When I opened the door, the once empty mansion was filled with people moving about, carrying or fixing one thing or another. But when they saw me, they paused, then one by one, they greeted me. “Good morning, Mrs. Amoria,” The word ‘Awkward’ screamed in my head. Didn’t Amoria ever tell them she had a twin? Or didn’t at least one of them see me on the wedding day? Before I got a chance to clarify, Zevian strolled in wearing a black night robe. His hand held a cup of coffee that was still steaming. His gaze ran over my body, which still had his shirt on. Seeing him triggered the memories of what happened in his room last night. Quickly, I turned back, about to enter the room and bury myself in the embarrassment I had caused myself. “She’s not my wife,” he said blatantly.

  • Stolen By The Wrong Mate   PEEKABOO

AMARIS POV“Yes,” I said with an heavy breath. “As much as I would have loved to say otherwise, I did… I killed them.”A stray tear found its way at the corner of my eye, and I quickly used my hand to wipe it away before it could fall. “At least all the evidence pointed to me… I don’t know what happened during that moment or how I got there, but I was there alone with them… I mean, how could I? They were important to me. They were good to me… at least before I poked my nose into their business,” I mumbled. “Did you tell anyone about this?” he asked. “Because your parents' story…it’s quite different.” “How would they know the truth when they weren’t in the picture when it happened? When they only feared me instead of loving me?” I hissed. “I did tell someone, though,” I said, my chest suddenly hurting badly as I held my hand to it. “Amoria. She knew because she was the only person who cared to ask… the only person who treated me differently… like I was important.” Zevian adjusted
