Scarlett’s POV~

After the event yesterday, Dylan had dropped me off at Scott's mansion. My thoughts drifted to the conversations we had in his car. He talked about the success of the event and then headed to my marriage with Ethan. Sensing my discomfort, he skillfully steered the conversation toward more comfortable topics. Since I arrived home, I've been deep in thoughts. Everything Alaric said still lingers in my mind, his words echoing, making me wonder.

I mean, we're both certain that we were framed in the past but could Ethan's mother be responsible for it? I've always thought it was Jasmine or Jade behind It

Sighing, I shoved my fingers into my hair, my shoulders sagging in exhaustion. It's a whole lot to take in.

The sun’s rays seeped into the room through the window, a constant reminder of spring’s arrival. My four year old daughter burst in, her face etched with excitement.

“Good morning, mommy!” She greeted, wrapping her cute hands around me.

Smiling, I embraced her warmly and planted a kiss on her forehead.

“Morning, my sunshine, how was your night?” I asked, giving her cheek a gentle stroke. Her eyes sparkled as she replied, “It was lovely, thanks for asking,”

“That's great. I can see you're dressed already.” My voice softened, my lips curling into a dazzling smile.

“Yes. And I love it,” She mumbled, her eyes filled with pride as she made a small twirl, showing off her colorful dress.

“Aren't I pretty?” She asked as she leaned into my touch, her fingers brushing my skin.

“Of course…” I replied, pulling her cheeks gently. “You're the prettiest girl I've ever seen..”

“So, mom, when are we going? You said we were going to see godmother today..” Her eyes lit up with anticipation as she asked, “Can I wear my new shoes?”

Nodding, I replied, “Yes, you can. Mommy will have her bath and get dressed now. We'll be leaving soon, don't worry,”

“Yay! I'm going to see Godmother! Can I give her the painting I made?” She asked cutely, her voice dripping with sweetness.

Nodding, I brushed her hair with my fingers before planting a kiss on her forehead once again..

“Your paintings are gorgeous, you have a real talent for bringing colors to life. I'm sure Godmother is going to love it.”

“Then, I can't wait to see her…”Her smile lit up as she spoke, exuding infectious energy.

Once she was out of the room, I ambled towards the bathroom but my tight smile vanished as soon as I dipped into the bathtub. Even with the soothing feeling the water brought to my skin, I couldn't help but think about the recent news I got about my son.

Although I've never asked about my son's welfare from Ethan, I've silently been carrying out investigations on his daily routine, trying to understand his world without prying.

He's not even aware that he has a twin, a lovely sister who has always been excited to have a brother.

The last report I got concerning his health has left me extremely curious.

Although I wasn't able to get some information about his health, I had a feeling that something was seriously wrong, and I couldn't shake off the concern.

“Eric..” I whispered, his name coming out of my mouth in the form of a tender call.

I shut my eyes as I imagined how he'd look like, and how he'd react once he finally learns the truth.

After having my bath, I walked into my luxurious walk-in closet which is surrounded by rows of designer clothes and racks of sparkling accessories.

“Hi, ma'am, what do you think about this?” My personal stylist, Nora, said as she walked towards me, a warm smile on her face..

Shaking my head, I rejected politely, “You don't have to worry, Nora. I don't need help with selecting my outfits.”

I've still not been able to adapt to the luxurious lifestyle of a grand heiress of the iconic Scott family. Most times, I feel like a prop, a mere accessory to the glamour and glitz, rather than a genuine person with my own style and preferences.

I feel overwhelmed by the constant scrutiny and pressure to look perfect, every moment and every day.

“How about this, my lady?” Nora asked as she retrieved a sleek black dress from the rake.

I scanned the options, my eyes narrowing. She never let me handle my outfits. I don't blame her. It's her job and her duty.

As she kept selecting more clothes, I tapped my forehead gently and sighed.

“These dresses are too overdressed for where I'm going, Nora. I'm only visiting a friend..”

“Alright. I'll get you something else,” She spoke nicely before directing her attention to the casual dresses in my closet.

Shaking my head, I rolled my eyes and exhaled inwardly.

I never knew this is what a celebrity life looks like..

I feel so different. I feel like I'm struggling with my Identity

After a while, Nora turned to me with the brightest smile.

“I think you'll love this, my lady,”

I gulped hard as my gaze settled on the sleek black jumpsuit. “Hmmm. I love this one but what about that blue dress?”

“Oh..” She mumbled, her gaze drifting towards the blue dress at a far end.

“This is perfect. You have good taste, my lady,”

After putting the dress on, I kept a forced smile as I gaze at my reflection in the mirror.

“I'll be leaving now, thanks Nora,”

She handed me a designer bag, before stepping aside.

My heels clacked on the polished tiles as I strolled to the grand sitting room which was adorned with lavish chandeliers, plush velvet sofas, and intricate artwork that seemed to whisper tales of the family's illustrious history.

Emily approached me, eager to step out with me.

“Are you going already?” McKenzie asked as she descended the spiral staircase, her accessories glistening under the light.

“Yes, grandmother. We're going to see Godmother!” Emily yelled before I could give a response.

McKenzie’s brows furrowed, her face etched with confusion. “Who's Godmother?”

Clearing my throat, I cut in, “Urm. It's Leslie. She's my best friend. I told you about her, right?”

McKenzie looked up at the ceiling as she tried to recall. Her brows raised slightly as she pieced together a long-forgotten detail, and a hint of smile played on her lips.

“Now, I remember. She was the one who helped you with finances in New York five years ago..”

“Yes,” I said.

As she neared me, she held my cheek gently and planted a kiss on my forehead.

Reaching for my daughter, she wrapped her in a warm embrace, whispering softly into her ear, “I love you more than words can say, sunshine..”

Emily giggled as McKenzie tickled her.

Their laughter filled the air, bringing a smile to my face.

As McKenzie stood upright, I gently made eye contact and asked, “I need a million dollars, grandma,”

“Of course you can always have anything you want..” she said and then paused to ask..

“Do you need it for your album release or…”

“No. It's not that .. I - I want to compensate my foster family for everything they've ever done to me.”

Why would you want to reward them for that?”I gave her hand a gentle squeeze, trying to keep my smile from faltering. “I just want to show them that I've risen above their cruelty. His lips curled upwards into an enigmatic smile, and even though I felt at ease around him, I couldn't help but be reminded of the past. He was a very good friend of Ethan, but I've been accused of having an affair with him.And now that he showed up at today's event, Ethan seemed to be watching us both like a hawk, his eyes narrowing as he tried to read between the lines. Heck! I'm not supposed to care, or be concerned about that since he chose to believe those lies. But a part of me was eager to correct everything, to show everyone that there is absolutely nothing going on between me and Alaric. It's been such a long time since I set my eyes on Alaric. It's been ages since we last spoke and he had no clue about my identity as the Scott's Heiress or my return to the city.“You're - you're back, Scarlett.” Alaric eyes shone with surprise as

The noise enveloping me made me strain my ears because I could barely hear what she was saying. With a final decision, I stormed out of the hall, the laughter and music fading in the background."Hello?" Find every fucking details about her life for those past years. I want to know if she's only putting on some shows and trying to be associated with them for publicity or other reasons. Let's see it as a means of uncovering the authenticity of her connections to the Scotts.”“Alright, Me Ethan. Jasmine crossed her arm, the soft folds of her fabric gently slipping off her shoulders.Taking a step towards me, she scoffed, her voice firm and menacing. “Why the hell did you return here, Scarlett? We thought you left the surface of the earth but now… you're back, acting all mighty like some sort of royalty.”“Who do you think you are, urh?
