Ethan’s POV

The sound of that single word still made my chest jolt.

“No.”

It was so simple, so calm, so steady — and yet it cracked something in me that had barely healed.

I just stood there, staring at him across the table, the candlelight from the untouched dinner flickering between us. His eyes looked tired. Mine burned.

For a second, I thought I hadn’t heard him right. That maybe my heart had filled in the silence with the worst possible answer it could imagine. But no — he’d said it. He’d meant it.

My throat went dry.

He really said no?

The thought remained, like a splinter under my skin.

My lips shook as I breathed out a shaky, fractured sound. I'd played this moment in my head a thousand times: the apology, the second chance, the idea that maybe-just maybe-the person who broke me could help me heal. But now that it was here, it felt like I'd made the biggest mistake of my life by even asking.

He didn’t want me.

And maybe he shouldn't.

Because who in their right mind asks for a

  • TAMING THE BILLIONAIRE; My Brother's Best Friend    CRUMBLING WALLS

Aaron’s POVI couldn’t breathe; I couldn’t even inhale.I could still feel his warm lips against mine, and before I could think, before reason could catch up, I clutched Ethan's waist and pulled him closer. He shouldn't be doing this?He should have thought about that first, cause now I didn't have a single bid of control left in me.He gasped, shocked by the sudden movement, but he didn't pull away. His breath mingled with mine, trembling, hungry, confused-everything I was. My fingers slid up the back of his shirt, feeling the tension in his muscles. His heartbeat slammed against my palm. He started this, but I was going to finish it, even if it destroyed me.I sank back onto the chair and drew him onto my lap to my already waiting erection. The contact sent something electric down my spine forcing a moan out of my throat. His mouth opened beneath mine, and I drowned in the taste of him-sweet, desperate, familiar. I shouldn't. I should stop. I needed to stop. But I didn't.The sec

  • TAMING THE BILLIONAIRE; My Brother's Best Friend    BE THE VILLAIN

Aaron’s POVThat meeting with Benson had left a bitter taste in my mouth, one that no volume of water or whiskey could wash away. The old bastard had spent all but an hour twisting my arm, his voice calm and deceptively polite, as it always was, speaking of "family," "legacy," and "responsibility" when what he meant was control.I'd had enough. He could command the boardroom, meddle with the investors, hell, he could even threaten to pull out his damn shares if it made him feel powerful-but he couldn't decide who I got to love. Not again.I wasn't going to be another one of Benson's chess pieces. He sat opposite me, smiling that poisonous smile, his silver cufflinks glinting under the office light as he said, "A public marriage is a useful shield, Aaron. It gives the company stability, gives me confidence. But remember, this isn't a love story. It's a business."I'd clenched my jaw so hard it hurt. "You might own half the company, Benson," I'd said. "But you don't own me."He'd only c

  • TAMING THE BILLIONAIRE; My Brother's Best Friend    WE NEED TO TALK

Ethan’s POVI stood under the shower for what felt like forever, the water pounding against my back hot enough to burn, but it didn't quiet my thoughts. My heart still thudded loud enough to drown out the rush from the faucet. He wouldn’t do it again. He wouldn’t just disappear.I told myself that over and over, but my mind kept arguing back. What if he had? What if this was exactly how it started the first time one unanswered call, one night of silence, one empty room and a box left open like a wound?By the time I stepped out and wrapped a towel around my waist, my chest felt tight, my head foggy. Every sound in the penthouse made me flinch: the creak of the floorboards, the faint hum of the AC. Everything felt like an echo of six years ago, when Aaron vanished and left nothing but broken things behind.A knock broke through the haze.“Sir, dinner’s ready,” one of the house staff said softly from the other side of the door.I blinked, realizing how long I'd been standing there doing

  • TAMING THE BILLIONAIRE; My Brother's Best Friend    THE FEAR OF DISAPPEARING

Ethan’s POVThe sun had already started to set when I finally left the building. The sky was a quiet orange, bleeding into violet, and the city lights were flickering awake one by one. The whole scene would've been beautiful if my mind wasn't such a mess.I wasn't sure if Aaron had already left or not. His office had been dark when I passed by earlier, and I hadn't seen his car parked out front. I figured maybe he'd gone ahead home. That was the plan anyway-we were supposed to meet there later. Still, something about it didn't sit right.I shoved my hands into my pockets as I made my way toward the parking lot. Jonathan, Mandy, and Anderson trailed behind me, still buzzing with the same energy they’d had since the announcement.Jonathan was the first to break the silence. “You know,” he began, snapping his fingers, “it all makes sense now.”I turned to him. “What does?“The car!” he said, like he'd solved a murder case. “That's how you got this bad boy, huh? Secret affair with the bos
