JORDAN'S POINT OF VIEW

I paused on my food, my eyes fixed on him. He seemed quite smitten and I was curious to know what he had to say. His silence only made things worse and I could barely keep my anger in check.

“Are you going to speak up or keep acting like some moron?” I yelled, banging my hand against the table.

He shuddered a bit, parted his lips and began to speak, “A soldier who had accompanied Miss Laura and her sister back to their pack had suddenly returned.”

I hissed, pissed that he had created a scene for something as trivial as that. “Is that all you have to say?”

“No sir. That's not all sir,” he shook his head vehemently, still smitten. “Damn it! Go on and spill it already.” I swear, I could strangle him at that moment if care wasn't taken.

“He returned, utterly beaten and shaken.” I frowned,”Beaten? Did something happen?*

“That's right sir. They were attacked by some rogues and the rest of the men were killed. The former Luna and her sister were all taken hostage.”
