I battled with the pain for about two days before it suddenly relieved me. The two days were hell, even with the physical exhaustion I pushed myself into. Once I wake up from sleep, the pain starts all over.

It got to a point where I almost crawled to the alpha’s door for mercy but my stubbornness superseded the pain. I fell sick the third day; my body was broken beyond repair, and I couldn’t lift a finger.

“This is you getting punished by the bond. The more you resist, the harder it becomes,” the attending doctor said to me

“Just give me something to ease the pain, I will bear it.” my resolve was stronger than anyone could believe

“Unfortunately, there is no cure unless you accept or the alpha closes the bond link from his end,” he responded with pity and concern all over his face

Sweat dripped down my face, adding to the soaked sheet beneath me. My eyes closed in pain as another wave hit me from nowhere. It was so painful that I had to clutch my hand to my chest.

  • THE ALPHA'S DEFIANT MATE   Stir Up

    |Sherlock|The day’s meeting had been exhausting, as usual, so I needed to catch some breath. Also, the pack had been awfully quiet for a while; there was no case to judge or solve, and everyone had maintained their peace to avoid getting dragged into my court.“I am so bored. I hate this routine,” I mumbled as I walked with Rachel to the huge balcony. She followed in silence as I stepped on the grand structure with blackened wood and adorned with twisted ironwork. The railings were laced with spikes to avoid unnecessary leaning from the maids and there were candles on all edges.I love the view of the surrounding land that is visible from the balcony, so I go there anytime I feel frustrated because it reminds me of how much I own and I am worth. The power and control it speaks to me is more satisfying than the bosom of any mate or concubine that graces my bed.“Are there no words from other Alphas? Do we have to wait all month?”Rachel rushed to my side, closing the gap as my voice r

  • THE ALPHA'S DEFIANT MATE   Let Her Go

“What do you mean you can’t see anything? Has there been anything impossible for you to see?” Selene, the alpha’s mother, whispered to Yael, the pack’s priestess. She had gone for a follow-up visit after Yael came to the mansion upon her request. They have been friends for years and have always received a vision for every plan she wants to take.“She’s too bright. I couldn’t even look her in the eyes. Also, ever since then, my powers wouldn’t flow effortlessly like they used to,” Yael lamented. An exhausted gasp left Selene’s lips with the revelation she just heard. She had been trying to make Yael read Aria’s mind and get all the information she could but seeing how it was impossible, it made her more unsettled.“Where did Damien find this girl? I really need to protect my son.” Her fists folded tightly as she headed back to the palace.Luckily for her, he had just come back to his chambers after a meeting with the soldiers when she came in, so she didn’t waste time sitting him down

  • THE ALPHA'S DEFIANT MATE   Tempted

The morning glow seeped through the curtain and entered my closed eyes as the sun stood proudly in the sky. I had slept by his side through the night that I didn’t know when daylight came.My eyes flickered open as I released a loud yawn from the tiredness, only for me to see him staring at me sweetly with his hand supporting his face to my face’s angle. His eyes were filled with fascination as if that was the first time he would see me properly.I jerked up immediately to avoid the uncomfortable stare but lost my balance and crashed back into him without being able to save myself at all.“You should have just asked for a hug instead of getting it in this dramatic way,” His comment almost got me furious as he held me in his arms but strangely, I found myself smiling briefly at his comment. It didn’t feel bad like it would have been before the hunt, and I wondered why. The smile disappeared quickly, and I rushed to stand up, but he wouldn’t let me.In a flash, he turned me over and wa

  • THE ALPHA'S DEFIANT MATE   Confusion

    |Aria|I didn’t know what came over me to make the bet, but I was so sure I would win. I trained with my father while he was alive. Back in my pack, hunting was something almost every household could do, regardless of their wolf’s rank.“You never know when it might save you,” my parents would tell us anytime we hiked deep into the mountains to hunt and also train in some combat. My father never raised us weakly, even as an omega; he taught us the strength of an Alpha. That’s one of the reasons why I wasn’t intimidated by Damien’s pack in general. Also, I had intentionally trapped him with the question by only giving the number of games and not the size. I didn’t have to catch anything huge or big, so I went after the hares, and in no time, I had many of them in my hunting pouch.I was about to head down when I saw a boar, and my instinct to make the game exciting kicked in. Having a big game with others would be a flex, was my thought as I positioned my bow and fired into the neck of

We changed our outfits and the hunting started. Whoever catches more animals gets to be the winner according to our bets, and we launched into the woods. There were guns, arrows, and other weapons available for any option we’d like to choose if we didn’t want to shift for the hunt.“Let’s meet here in the next one hour. If you come late, you automatically lose.” My words came out like an order, not a suggestion.Aria just nodded without blinking, her lips slightly curved in that mischievous way she does when she's determined. I knew she wouldn’t back down, not after the confidence she displayed earlier. Niamh stood back, watching silently, her arms folded as if she expected something bigger to unfold. We split paths, disappearing into the trees without another word.I shifted halfway, letting my senses sharpen. The familiar rush of the hunt raked through my body as I remembered the thrill, chase, and the smell of fresh blood. The only thing different is that, this time, it was about h

    |Damien|The meeting I had lasted all day; it sapped my entire strength. The only thing that was in my brain was getting a quality sleep as soon as I got to my room, only to be met with the sight of Aria trying to seduce me.One of the things I love her for is she’s always unpredictable. Never in my life have I ever thought something like that could happen. She hated me so much that the sight of me irritates her and I made it worse by always subjecting her to whatever I wanted her to do, leaving her with little or no choice.I thought I was dreaming when her cloth slid down her body to reveal her bare breast. Her hips were doing a great job, holding the fabric in place from revealing her lower body.Just how many times did she practice for it to stay perfect without any further accident? Her body was inviting; there was no lie to that. Her skin was glowing like glass, making it impossible for me to tear my eyes away from her body.I knew what her game was; I was just amazed that she w
