Andrew’s POV

Nancy stood at the entrance to the kitchen.

Her eyes were swollen and red, her face pale. Her hair was loose, falling down her back in dark waves like she hadn’t bothered to tame it. She was wrapped in a tiny nightgown.

She looked small and lost. The sight of her undid something in me. I wanted to grab her in my arms so bad. I wanted to be a shoulder to cry on. I wanted to give her all the comfort she would need to get through the next few days.

I dropped the towel and crossed the

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S LOST FAMILY   WHAT DID YOU SEE

Andrew’s POVI knew something was wrong the second I saw her. My heart immediately fell to my stomach.Nancy was standing in the middle of the street, her shoulders slumped forward like she was holding herself together with effort alone. Her hair was loose, falling down her back, and her freckled face was blotchy and red in a way I had come to recognize too well over the last few days. She was crying, her lips trembling. She had been crying for a while. And she wasn’t alone. There was a man standing close to her. Colton??He was too close. His hand was on her arm, rubbing up and down like it belonged there. She wasn’t pulling away. She looked tired. Worn down. Like she didn’t have the energy to stop him.My chest tightened hard. And then he brought his thumb to her cheeks and wiped away her tears. I was breathing heavily. Why was he touching her and why was she crying?“Nancy?”Her head snapped up at the sound of my voice. For a split second, something flashed across her face. Shock.

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S LOST FAMILY   CHAPTER 31: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

Nancy’s POVMy heart dropped so hard it felt physical. Like something had punched straight through my chest. My fingers went cold. I stared at the message, reading it again and again, my brain refusing to catch up.I didn’t want to press play on the video. For some reason, I already knew it was going to hurt.My hands were trembling. I almost deleted the video without even opening it. But curiosity took the better of me and I clicked on the download button. The video loaded slowly, each second stretching. From the timestamp of the video, I knew it had been recorded just yesterday. When it finished downloading, I pressed play and braced myself for impact. I felt sweat on my forehead. It was Andrew… in a room… with Catherine. He stood there with his coat draped over his arm, sleeves rolled up, shirt unbuttoned at the collar. He looked tired. Distracted. And standing in front of him, too close, was Catherine. She was wearing lingerie. My ears rang as I watched her touch him. Her hands on

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S LOST FAMILY   CHAPTER 30: A VIDEO

Nancy’s POVBy the time I finally left the morgue, my hands felt numb, and it wasn’t just my hands. It was my mind, my body, my soul. Like they didn’t belong to me anymore. I had signed my name so many times that it stopped looking real. Each signature felt like a small betrayal, like I was agreeing to the fact that Adrian was gone forever. All I could think of was that I would never forgive myself. We had fought that night and now he was gone. That last memory I had of my brother was of him trying to steal from me and leave.I signed forms about identification, forms about cause of death. Police officers asked me to remember everything about that night so they could get some identification on the murderer.I answered questions with a calm I didn’t recognize. Yes. No. I don’t know. I’m not sure.I kept my voice steady even when my chest felt too tight, even when my ears rang. I couldn’t stop crying.Andrew had offered to come with me. I told him I needed to do it alone. I had to do th

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S LOST FAMILY   CHAPTER 29: LEAVE

Leaving them felt wrong.Every instinct in me screamed to stay, to sit on that couch beside Nancy, to keep Liam tucked under my arm, to absorb their grief like it was something I could carry for them. But I needed to give them space to process everything. So, I left.I told myself it was the right thing to do. That Nancy needed space to mourn her brother without worrying about me, without feeling like she had to be strong for anyone else. That Liam needed time to process the two truths dropped on him within the span of a single morning: that his uncle was gone forever, and that his father had been standing right in front of him this whole time.My son.The word still felt unreal. Now that Liam was aware, it felt completely different. He hugged me and asked me if I would always be with them, if I would stay and God, I would do everything in my power to make sure he never felt alone ever again. It filled my chest with something warm and terrifying all at once.Joy clawed its way up my t

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S LOST FAMILY   CHAPTER 28: NO WAY BACK

Catherine’s POV“I didn’t have a choice,” he muttered, repeating himself which annoyed me even more.I turned away from him, dragging a hand through my hair, pacing once across the room. My thoughts were racing now, colliding, spiraling out of control. Adrian was dead. Adrian. A real person.I stopped abruptly and spun back to the murderer. “You won’t be getting the rest of your pay.”His head snapped up. “What?”“You heard me You didn’t do what I asked, so you are not getting paid!”“That’s not what we agreed on. Half the payment before and half after. That is what you said!”“You KILLED someone,” I said. “The agreement ended the moment you crossed that line.”His face hardened. Fear gave way to anger. “You can’t do that.”“I just did.”He took a step toward me. Andrew’s mother stood then, slow and deliberate, positioning herself beside me.“You don’t want to do this,” he warned.I felt a flicker of fear, sharp and unwelcome, but I didn’t step back. I met his glare head-on.“Get out

  • THE BILLIONAIRE'S LOST FAMILY   CHAPTER 27: PATHETIC

Catherine’s POVI knew something had gone wrong the moment I stepped in Andrew’s mother’s house. She had called me, saying something went wrong with what we had planned and I quickly abandoned everything I was doing to go to her.The air felt wrong, like it was holding its breath. The curtains were drawn even though it was barely past noon, and the living room lights were on, casting a dull yellow glow that made everything look older, dirtier. Andrew’s mother sat rigidly on the edge of the armchair, her back straight, her hands folded so tightly in her lap that her knuckles had gone pale. She didn’t look at me when I entered. She didn’t need to. The man standing near the wall told me everything. He was big. Taller than Andrew, broader, his shoulders filling the space like he didn’t quite belong indoors. His jacket was still on, damp at the collar as if he’d been caught in the rain or sweat. His hands hung uselessly at his sides, fingers twitching. He avoided my eyes. That alone made m
