Rafe slams the documents on the table and releases the anger that has been boiling over his head on his assistant, Matthew Brunwick or Matt, for all the mistakes he made today on his precious projects.
“I told you two weeks ago that I don't agree with the price proposed by Wilcox, I want the funding report amended, and you type the amounts I gave you. Why do you still maintain the same nominal?”
"Sorry, but Mr. Wilcox said—”
"Who paid you, huh?" Rafe shouted angrily. He didn't like that his assistant took his marketing manager's words more than his.
“Wilcox is an idiot and has no confidence in my company's capabilities. He thought that by lowering the price of my parts, he could attract more clients to earn more turnover. But no, my price will bring in more clients and profit. I'm pretty confident with my factory made parts. We have been producing the best parts for many years. You understand that, Matt?”
Matthew nodded stiffly then walked out

Lexie looked at the pale area on the back of her hand that looked weird. They were the marks of intravenous needles and medical plasters that were stuck to her skin tightly. The infusion needle had a striking effect on her skin. Like a pale color that is not pretty and looks very contrasting with other areas of her skin. On her right hand the traces of the intravenous needle she had forcibly removed four days ago are starting to fade. Lexie chuckled blandly that she got two IV needle marks on the back of her hand in just a short period of time. How often she was in and out of the hospital these days. It seemed odd and somewhat amusing that she was rarely even a patient in the hospital. She's a healthy girl. Growing up in the abundance of parental love. And she is the happiest girl in the world. Lexie suddenly jumped out of her chair and ran quickly to the nearest toilet. She didn't pay much attention to her footsteps and only focused on the urge from her stomach that was about to gush out. She then pushed hard on the toilet door and immediately threw up her entire stomach in the sink. She bent so long in front of the sink that her legs went limp and she slumped to the floor. Meanwhile Rafe became annoyed next to her. He was angry that Lexie didn't swallow the sushi and rushed to the nearest toilet to empty her mouth. "I said swallow. Why did you throw it up?” Rafe followed her to the toilet. He had his arms crossed in the doorway with a grim face, while Lexie looked tormented, bending over in front of the sink to spit out her guts. Her eyes filled with tears at the thought of the expensive chocolate that had just been thrown out of her stomach. Lexie raised her flushed face and her teary eyes met Rafe's dark eyes who were staring at her angrily.

When Lexie was busy thinking, suddenly there was a soft knock on her bedroom door. Kaella's shrill voice rang out in front of her room, screaming for her to get up. “Lexie, are you awake? "I'm ready. We can leave now." Rafe shifted his gaze from the cellphone screen filled with sickening emails to Lexie whose footsteps lightly tapped on the marble staircase in his house. For a few seconds he was fascinated by the appearance of Lexie who looked very beautiful and elegant in a gold satin dress whose chest was filled with beautiful crystals that shone like her face. He had not picked the wrong dress for Lexie because it made her shine even brighter tonight. Like she is a star to light up his always gloomy life. "You are very beautiful tonight. That dress suits you very well.” Lexie smiled faintly. She was happy to see Rafe admiring her appearance even though she felt the dress was too sexy for her. Lexie didn't make any sound on the way to Rafe's party. He sat pressed against the door, keeping his distance from Rafe who was also sitting quietly in his place on the left. There wasn't any conversation between them, as if that was the best thing they should be doing right now. Lexie felt she couldn't say anything to Rafe as long as the man, Alan, was driving ahead. Since the corner of Alan's eyes, it seemed as if he was watching him, who mostly turned his face to the window. He purposely didn't make any contact with anyone so he could calm himself from all sorts of vigilance that was starting to poison his brain.
