Lucien’s gaze was as soft and calm as the sea, love pricked his eyes as he gently placed Aria on the bed.

For a moment, he just stood there, his head down and his hands hovering above her as if he feared that if he left, she would get worse. Deep down, he feared that letting her out of his sight would make her vanish.

She wasn’t just his mate, she was his world.

He placed his hands gently over her face and caressed it, a feeling of unease rushing through him. Aria’s face was pale, too pale.

But compared to earlier during the fight, her breathing had steadied, and her rosy complexion was coming back. He didn’t know why, but he was sure that she was now out of any danger.
