Selene – Her Side of the Story

Raina was never loved.

Not by our father.

Not by the pack.

Not even by the goddess herself, if you ask me.

She was the daughter of a mistake—a bastard born out of lust and pity.

Yet somehow, she was always better. Stronger. Smarter. Deeper.

And I hated that I saw it first.

Because I loved her.

Before everything, I really did.

I only ever truly loved three people in my life:

My father.

Kael.

And Raina.

Even after her birth ended my mother, I didn't cry I didn't hate.

I protected her, took good care of her, raised her like a mother would.

Even when the whispers grew louder, and the elders turned their backs, I stood by her. She was broken, silent, different—yet I chose her.

But then Kael started looking at her.

He said nothing at first. But I saw him.

Sniffing her clothes.

Staring too long when she passed.

Tense whenever she spoke.

I knew what it meant.

His wolf wanted her.

I told myself it was just a phase. That Kael was mine. That fate wouldn’t be so cruel.

But then came the mate revelation Ceremony.

A sacred day. A moment I believed would bind me to him.

Instead, I watched in horror as Kael’s wolf called to hers.

They were fated.

Fated fucking mates.

And that’s when everything inside me snapped.

The moon goddess spat on me that day.

The only man I’d ever given myself to—body, mind, magic—was bonded to the one person I swore to protect.

No one believed it. The whispers came fast.

“She bribed the elders.”

“She bewitched him.”

“It’s impossible. Selene’s the stronger witch.”

But I knew the truth.

It was real.

The pull. The bond. The way Kael couldn’t keep his eyes—or his scent—off her.

The girl they all hated, the one they mocked, the one they pitied… was chosen.

And I lost everything.

So, I joined them.

The ones who wanted her gone.

The ones who spat in her food. The ones who sent her to sleep in the maid’s quarters like a dog. The ones who whispered “cursed child” every time she walked by.

I stopped defending her.

I stopped calling her my sister.

And I started planning.

Kael was too proud to admit the truth. But I could twist it.

I began mixing the Detachment Draught—an ancient potion that severs emotional bonds. Bit by bit, I poured it into Kael’s wine. It was slow, but I saw it work.

He grew colder. Meaner. Distant.

Soon he couldn’t stand to look at her.

But it still wasn’t enough.

So I seduced him.

Not because I wanted him. Goddess, no. His touch made my skin crawl. His groans repulsed me. I had to close my eyes and pretend he was someone—anyone—else.

But I needed her to break.

And that did it.

The night she saw us, I watched the light leave her eyes.

She didn’t scream.

She didn’t fight.

She just turned… and disappeared into herself.

Victory.

But it was short-lived.

---

Weeks later, I caught her in my lab.

I was about to leave for my summer break, ready to get away from Kael’s stench and the tension in the house.

And there she was—hands shaking, flipping through my herb book like a damn thief.

I was furious. I was going to scream. But something in her face stopped me.

She looked scared. Not her usual scared. Terrified.

I asked what was wrong, but she just muttered something about being sick.

So I took her palm. Ran a simple divination charm.

And my jaw nearly dropped.

She was pregnant.

But that wasn’t what shook me.

It was the power in the child. The light. The glow.

So I stalled. Told her to get out. Pretended not to care.

But just before she left, I touched her lower belly and stole a drop of blood.

She didn’t feel a thing.

Later that night, I ran the tests.

And I couldn’t believe what I saw.

The child’s aura was divine.

This wasn’t Kael’s.

This was… royal.

A Lycan.

My fingers trembled.

Lycans hadn’t been seen in generations. They were stronger than Alphas. Born rulers. Rare. Sacred. Said to be connected to celestial hosts and the original bloodlines.

And she’d gotten one.

Of course she did.

Raina always took the best. My mother. My lover. My crown.

And now, the child of a Lycan.

But I wasn’t done with her.

Not yet.

---

A week later, exhausted from research, I dressed up. I needed to forget. I slipped into a bold red dress. Tight. Low-cut. Definitely Raina’s. I didn’t care.

I went to the bar just outside the territory. Ordered something strong.

Then he walked in.

He was handsome, the type you sleep with and dump or just take all his money.

Then an awkward thing happened

He sat beside me without asking.

Paid for my drink.

And leaned in.

He took the stool beside me without asking.

“Are you going to remember not to know me, pretty?”

The voice was deep.

I turned slowly.

But he wasn’t looking at me. Not really.

He was searching me.

Sniffing the air.

Like a predator looking for something he lost.

“You smell like her,” he muttered under his breath.

My heart skipped.

“Her?” I asked carefully.

He leaned closer. “The girl who ran. After that night.”

His voice broke just a little on that last word. He was hurt.

I blinked. Then blinked again.

Raina.

He thought I was Raina.

My fingers trembled. But only inside. On the outside, I turned my face slightly away, as if hiding shame.

“I had no choice,” I whispered.

His hand tensed around his glass. “Why did you run?”

I looked up at him, tears already burning. I was a good actress when I wanted to be. But this time? It didn’t even take effort.

“I was scared,” I said, voice cracking. “Everything happened so fast. You—me—us. I didn’t know what to do. I thought you’d reject me if you knew what I was.”

His eyes softened. He didn’t speak for a long time.

Then he said, “I searched every damn pack for you. I thought I was going insane.”

I let out a sob. Real tears now. Because this was insane.

This man—this powerful, devastating Lycan—thought I was her.

And in his eyes?

He loved her.

He’d fallen for a one-night stand.

He’d been obsessed.

And now, I had his full attention.

“You came back to me,” he whispered.

I didn’t correct him.

I cried harder.

He reached out and pulled me into his arms, like I was precious, like I was everything.

And my mind started working at lightning speed.

I felt the weight of his body, the warmth of his skin, the force of his dominance.

This man… was hers.

The one she’d slept with that night.

The father of the child.

The Lycan.

And now, he thought I was her.

Oh, darling sister.

You always did take what was mine.

But this time? I would take everything you had left.

I knew I wasn’t welcome. Instead, I followed from a distance. My body moved on instinct.I saddled the horse and rode out, my mind already ahead of me—racing straight to her. To Raina.Maybe I’d give her the horse. She deserved a gift. She deserved the damn world. She made me feel… like a man again. Not a title. Not a throne.Just Lucien. I pulled the reins gently and dismounted. “Stay here, yeah?” I patted the horse's side and tied him to a tree near a bush.I walked in, unbuckled my belt, and relieved myself. The trees rustled slightly. Then a twig snapped. My head jerked around. My eyes narrowed. Another low grunt came from my horse—agitated.I zipped up and stalked back.“Who’s trying to steal you?” I whispered, scanning the thicket. No one.But then, something caught my eye in the grass. SELENE POV I adjusted the soft pearl pin in my hair as I stood just beyond the council chamber doors, a poised smile on my lips. My palms, however, were damp. I'd been waiting all day for the meeting to end.Any moment now…I could already hear their footsteps approaching. The heavy wooden doors creaked open, and the Elders began filing out in their long robes, each offering me warm smiles and nods of approval.“Lady Selene,” Elder Morak said, stopping before me. “That was an impressive speech you gave last week. I must admit, we’ve all been quite taken by your composure and poise.”I smiled demurely. “Thank you, Elder.”Another Elder stepped forward. “We believe you’ll make a fine Luna beside King Lucien. Very soon, we hope.”“I would be honored,” I replied sweetly, lowering my eyes.Elder Morak patted my shoulder. “Don’t worry, child. The formal announcement is only a matter of time. We cannot wait to see you seated where you belong.”Their words danced around me like golden music.

RAINA POV The darkness pressed in tight around me. The air was still, heavy, too quiet. I took a cautious step back, my voice barely above a whisper. “Who’s there?” No answer. My heart thundered in my chest, and I turned, ready to bolt— A heavy weight slammed into me from the side. “Ah!” I gasped, my body colliding with the ground. I fought back instinctively, claws partially shifting, panic rising—until I heard a voice. “Damn girl, chill! It’s me!” I froze. “Tara?!” She rolled off me, laughing, her wild curls bouncing as she sat up. “Hey girl, wassup?” “You scared the living hell out of me!” I swatted her arm, then pulled her into a tight hug. We both burst into laughter, clinging to each other like two long-lost souls. “Where the hell have you been?” I asked, pulling back. “I should be asking you that,” she grinned. “But let me go first. I came back from Las Cruces.” My eyes widened. “Las Cruces? As in, the pack near the border? You were serious abou

  • THE BROKEN LUNA'S REVENGE:FATED TO MY SISTER'S MATE    CHAPTER 16

KAEL POV The silence in my room was too loud. It always was these days. I sat at the edge of my bed, fingers gripping the edge of my knees, eyes fixed on the empty space in front of me. Nothing made sense anymore. Not my heart. Not my choices. Not even the woman I thought I loved. Selene. We had history. Real history. Love carved into time itself. Everyone knew it. We were the perfect pair. So why did it all feel wrong? Why did my wolf feel… incomplete? Why was Raina still crawling through my mind like a ghost that refused to leave? I ran a hand down my face and leaned forward, elbows on my knees. Where did it all go wrong? --- I was nine when I arrived at the Frostfang Pack. Filthy. Angry. Alone. I don’t remember my parents' faces. Just smoke. Screams. Blood. The rogues tore through our village like fire, and I was the only one left standing. Dazed. Burned. Starving. Gamma Darius found me and took me in. Said I had the eyes of a survivor. War school harde

  • THE BROKEN LUNA'S REVENGE:FATED TO MY SISTER'S MATE    CHAPTER 15

RAINA POV I heard the crashing of plates. It jolted me from my half-sleep. I blinked, dazed, cold air seeping through the cracks in the wall. Another crash. Another loud curse. My tiny fingers curled around the edge of the blanket. I stood. Slow. Careful. I crept out of the room and pushed the door open just a crack. My father stood in the kitchen, swaying. Drunk again. His back was to me, and broken ceramic scattered across the floor. His shoulders were tense. His fists, clenched. Then—he turned. At the sound of the creaking door. His eyes found me like a curse latching onto a target. "You." My stomach twisted. "You caused this!" he roared and staggered toward me. I backed up, but not fast enough. His hand fisted my hair, yanking me forward so hard my neck snapped sideways. I cried out, legs scrambling. "You little stain!" he barked. He dragged me through the hallway, my feet barely touching the ground. My scalp burned. My chest heaved with sobs. We reac
