“Can I at least go home to get some of my files and documents?” Priscilla asked hopelessly.
Fredrick glared at her and said, “Three days is all you have got.”
“Don’t think you can run away from me.” He added.
“Three days is a lot.” She muttered under her breath.
Priscilla let out a sigh of relief as Fredrick stormed out of the room. She quickly got up to leave the Mansion.
Outside a black limousine waited for her to come out. As the chauffeur saw Priscilla he immediately came out of the car and opened the car door for her to enter.
“Good morning Madam.” The chauffeur greeted me as he opened the door.
“Good morning,” Priscilla replied.
“There won’t be any need for the ride, I can find my way back home.” She added.
“No Madam, I have to take you home and bring you back as instructed by the boss.” The chauffeur replied as he was aware of the consequences that come with disobeying Lord Fredrick.
“What!!! he instructed you to such thing. Tell you boss I am not going with you.” Priscilla said as she walked out.
At the Waals Mansion, everyone was seated discussing the next step in the future.
Priscilla walked in and everyone fixed their gaze on her.
Rose might be old, but she looked high-spirited with her sharp eyes. Staring at Priscilla, she put on her usual gloomy face, and while she was not really angry just yet, she looked intimidating enough.
“Speak of the devil,” Rose said.
Since Priscilla remained silent, Rose thought she was scared, and she also calmed down.
“Fine. Since you are back now, let’s not talk about the past anymore. Let’s have dinner in the dining hall.”
Rose said forcing a smile on her face as she looked at Priscilla.
At that, Rose directly went to the dining hall without waiting for them.
Priscilla knitted her brows, but eventually, she followed her.
“Priscilla, I already asked Mirabel to prepare your favorite dishes for you. Have a try now!” Rose said.
Regina stood up to put some food on Priscilla’s plate.
“Here, you can have this,” Regina said to Priscilla.
Priscilla held back the disgust in her heart, but she did not eat and did not answer her either.
Rose instantly felt enraged, seeing her sitting still coldly.
“What? Is it just so difficult for you to eat something? You show no care for Regina. You should thank her at least.” Rose thundered.
Priscilla remained silent. Though she did not want to argue, she could never be nice to a woman who had slept with her finance, let alone share a table with her.
She put down her fork, and said coldly, “No need, I am not hungry. What do you want exactly? Let’s go straight to the point.”
Rose looked at her and a flash of shrewdness could be seen from her eyes.
This time, she was not angry. Instead, she said in a grim tone, “I can see your hatred for this family. Fine, I won’t force you. I just want you to know something today. Two days from now is your sister’s birthday party.
There would be a birthday party. I have already discussed it with the Smith family. They will announce their relationship at the party. I need you to be there and if anyone asks you, you just say it is your sister who is engaged to Ryan at the beginning. That would be Good for you too. Now that you have broken up, don’t let the past influence your life.”
Priscilla stared at her in shock. She never expected this from her.
She turned to Regina, and after a while, she suddenly laughed in a low voice.
“So you mean, you want me to be a shield. A stepping stone for their engagement?”
Rose’s face darkened in displeasure, “watch your language! It’s not just for your sister, it’s also for you.”
After a while, she added, “You are a girl anyway. You will still need to marry someone someday. It won’t look so good if everyone knows you were dumped.”
“What if I refuse?” Priscilla said with disgust on her face.
“It’s not up to you. I have made the decision.” Rose said.
Priscilla almost jumped on her feet suddenly.
Her face was gloomy, her eyes cold, she just stared at her.
Walking out of the house, it has been eight.
Though it was summer and everywhere seemed cool, her blood was still boiling from the anger.
Priscilla always knew that Rose liked Regina more, but she did not expect it to be to such an extent.
How ridiculous!
Standing by the roadside, she felt indeed furious, but after a while, she just calmed down.
Lost in thought, a black Audi drove past in front of her and stopped right in front of the gate mansion.
Priscilla was confused, and the next second, the familiar voice of a man came to her ears.
“Priscilla, Why are you here?” The voice said.
She looked over at the man, who was getting out of the car. It was Ryan. He was dressed in an Armani suit today, its blue color showing his upright posture and pride.
She curled her lips with a hint of mockery, and said in a cold voice, “You must be too busy with your business to remember my name.”
Ryan paused for a while, and his face stiffened slightly.
He sure won’t forget Priscilla was also one of the Ramos family and she was exactly standing in her home.
It’s only that she had long broken up with the family and had never been back. It was natural for him to feel surprised seeing her.
Priscilla’s sarcastic remarks didn’t force Ryan back.
Ryan said sternly, “Well since you are here, I have something to ask you. Where the hell did you go last night? Why didn’t you answer my calls?”
Priscilla’s eyes twitched slightly. “Calls”
The grand ballroom of the Aurelian Hotel shimmered under the glow of crystal chandeliers, casting a warm, golden hue over the sea of elegantly dressed guests. Tonight, it wasn’t a place of betrayal or whispered plots. Tonight, it was a temple of love, a sanctuary where Priscilla and Fredrick would finally seal their bond. After everything they had endured—the deceit, the threats, the near-death experience—tonight was a testament to their resilience. And tonight, in front of the world, they would celebrate it.Priscilla stood in the bridal suite, her reflection staring back at her from the full-length mirror. The gown was breathtaking.A masterpiece of intricate lace and delicate pearls, the off-shoulder design framed her collarbones perfectly, while the flowing skirt cascaded down like a waterfall of silk. A delicate veil, embroidered with shimmering crystals, draped from the crown of her head, a silent promise of the sacred vows she was about to take. She exhaled slowly, running her
The woman’s gaze was sharp, unyielding, her dark eyes filled with something dangerous—something primal.Hatred.She stood at the edge of the grand ballroom, her fingers tightening around the stem of her champagne glass as she watched Priscilla from across the room.Priscilla, radiant in her emerald-green gown, moved through the crowd with effortless grace, smiling, laughing, unaware of the storm brewing just beyond her vision. She doesn’t deserve any of it.The thought slithered through the woman’s mind like venom. She was supposed to be nothing—an unwanted child of the Waals, an orphan taken in out of charity. Yet she had grown up in luxury, had been given love, attention, and a family name. While she…She had been the outsider. The adopted daughter. The replacement.Priscilla was the real daughter. The one they truly loved. And for that, she had to die.She had spent years waiting, biding her time.Hiding the bitterness beneath practiced smiles. Perfecting the art of deception. But
Everyone was merrier as they celebrated.Lourdes felt a little bit awkward when she saw Ben.Ben, on the other hand, kept staring at Nancy.Although she had given birth, she was still as pretty as ever, but now it seems this pretty lady hates him.He wore a sullen look and kept staring.Andrei came over and tried to tease Him.“Hey Ben, you seem so lost staring at that pretty lady over there. Are you aware your recent ex is here? How do you do it? Nancy has given birth, definitely she is taken!”Ben stared at him coldly, “ I’m aware she has given birth, and as for Lourdes, we never really dated.”Ben thought of something, then smiled. He walked over to Lourdes. They chatted and kept smiling at each other and laughing so loudly.Lourdes enjoyed his company and wished that the relationship they had could become real.On the other hand, Nancy kept staring at them. She was having mixed feelings. Priscilla observed that her face didn’t look so good and she asked, “Best, are you okay?”Nancy
In other words, even though he was staying here by force, he could forget relying on her for food and drink. If you didn’t work, you wouldn’t eat. She’d thought that he’d be dissatisfied with her words.Unexpectedly, he simply looked coldly at her and said, “I’ve already dismissed that maid of yours.”Nancy blinked.“What?” Ben frowned.“You didn’t hear me?”“No, why did you dismiss my maid?”Ben sneered.“If I didn’t, was I supposed to wait for her to help you escape?”Nancy’s temper flared.“I already told you I’m not going to run. And in my condition, how far can I get?”Ben ignored her completely. “I have no faith in you.”She clenched her teeth and suppressed her anger.“All right, then. What am I supposed to eat and drink with the maid gone? You don’t expect me to make my meals while pregnant, do you?”Ben shot her a look.He seemed to think about it.“If you could, why not?”“Bastard!”Looking at the woman all puffed up like a kitten, Ben’s mood inexplicably improved.“Relax.
How could this man be so hateful? He knew she couldn’t do anything. He knew she had nothing left. Why was he still pressuring her to this point?Ben sneered.“If I decided to come after this child, what can you use against me? Your half-baked techniques? Or are you going to tell your father and have me beaten up like four years ago?”Nancy jolted.Endless cold raced down her spine. She looked at him icily. “You can certainly try.”Ben paused, then said, “But your father probably won’t treat me like this now, will he? After all, four years ago, I was just a poor kid with nothing, no match for his sweet daughter. But things are different now. I’m the heir to the Silvester family. Think about it. If he knew that his daughter was pregnant with my seed, wouldn’t he be so happy he carts you over in a horse-drawn carriage?”“Don’t go too far, Ben!”“I’m just telling the truth, aren’t I?”The two stood there as dead silence took over the still atmosphere.Nancy glared at him with eyes full of
Nancy’s birthday was coming. Priscilla was thinking of her schedule and found that she couldn’t celebrate her birthday.Since Nancy went abroad, she had only been in occasional contact with Priscilla. She didn’t even contact her father and brother.Priscilla couldn’t raise her opinion. She could only care about Nancy as much as possible, lest she feel lonely abroad. On Nancy’s birthday, Priscilla called her at the stroke of midnight. The call was put through soon.Nancy’s delighted voice came, “Priscilla!”“Happy birthday!”“Thank you.”Priscilla couldn’t help being amused by Nancy, “To be honest, have you missed me?”“Of course, but you never come to see.”“Don’t worry. When my godson is born in half a month, Fredrick and I will come together.”“What if it’s a daughter?”“It’s better. Ann can keep her company and take care of her.”Nancy shook her head, “You’re lucky. To be honest, it is really hard to be pregnant with a child.”Priscilla’s smile froze on her lips.“Can you manage i
