Lila's POV

Night came faster than I wanted. After finishing my classes and thinking about everything that happened during the day, it was time for my other job - cleaning the boys' dorm.

I stood in front of my small mirror in my room, staring at my reflection while I changed into the tight black uniform. The short dress hugged my round belly and thick thighs, the white apron sitting snug over my heavy breasts.

I felt nervous, but not only because of the work.

I had been thinking about Jax

  • THE CLEANER'S TRIPLE BET   Chapter 39: Back at the Suite

Miles's POVI pushed open the door to our suite and stepped inside. The lights were still on, and both Jax and Theo were waiting. Jax was stretched out on the couch, one arm behind his head, while Theo sat at his desk with his headphones half-on, fingers tapping idly on the keyboard. They both looked up the moment I walked in.“You’re back late,” Jax said, sitting up. “We’ve been waiting. Where’d you go after practice?”I dropped my bag by the door and exhaled slowly. “I drove Lila home.”Theo spun his chair around fully. “You actually got her to talk? She’s been ghosting us hard lately. What’s going on with her?”I sat down on the armchair across from them and leaned forward, elbows on my knees. The car ride with Lila was still fresh in my head — the way her voice cracked when she finally opened up.“She told me why she’s been avoiding us,” I said. “It’s the rumors. They’ve gotten to her bad. People are calling her a gold digger, saying she’s using us for money. And the dorm head pul

  • THE CLEANER'S TRIPLE BET   Chapter 38: In Miles’ Car

Lila's POVThe garden talk with Miles left me feeling raw but lighter. After we sat there for a while, he offered to drive me home. I said yes. The bus felt too far tonight, and part of me didn’t want to leave his side just yet.We walked to the parking lot in comfortable silence. Miles opened the passenger door for me like always, and I climbed in. The car smelled clean and faintly like him — fresh soap and something warm that always made me relax. He started the engine and pulled out of the campus lot, the streetlights casting soft glows across his face. For a few minutes, we drove quietly. Then Miles reached over and gently took my hand, resting it on his thigh. The simple touch sent warmth through me. I squeezed his fingers, and he smiled softly.“You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to,” he said. “But I’m really glad you talked to me today.”I nodded, looking at our joined hands. “Me too.”The car felt smaller the longer we drove. The air grew thicker. I kept stealing

  • THE CLEANER'S TRIPLE BET   Chapter 37: The Garden Talk

Lila's POVThe campus garden was quiet in the late evening. I sat on a wooden bench with Miles beside me. He had found me after my shift and gently asked if we could talk. I almost said no, but something in his calm blue eyes made me agree. Now here we were, the silence between us feeling heavy but not uncomfortable.Miles sat with his elbows on his knees, looking at me patiently. “I’m ready to listen to anything you want to say,” he said softly. “No pressure. Just… talk to me, Lila.”I stared at my hands in my lap, twisting my fingers together. My heart was beating fast. I had avoided them for days, and now that one of them was sitting right here, the words felt stuck in my throat. I didn’t know where to start.“I… I don’t know how to say it,” I whispered.Miles waited. He didn’t push. He just stayed quiet, giving me time. After a long moment, I took a deep breath.“The dorm head called me in,” I said finally. “She heard the rumors. She was angry and disappointed. She said she only h

  • THE CLEANER'S TRIPLE BET   Chapter 36: Cornered by Miles

Lila's POVI was at my locker in the small staff room, trying to change out of my uniform as quickly as possible. My hands were shaking a little as I pulled off the tight black dress. The rumors were still swirling in my head, and avoiding the guys had become exhausting. I just wanted to go home, curl up in bed, and pretend none of this was happening. The door to the staff room suddenly opened.I jumped, clutching my regular clothes to my chest. Miles stepped inside and quietly closed the door behind him. The click of the lock made my heart leap into my throat.“Miles…” I whispered, my voice small. “What are you doing? Please… come out.”He didn’t move. He just looked at me with those calm blue eyes, but there was something deeper in them tonight — worry mixed with determination.“I’m not leaving until you explain why you’ve been avoiding us,” he said gently, but firmly. “Jax, Theo, and I have been worried sick. You disappear every time we try to talk to you. What happened, Lila?”I c

  • THE CLEANER'S TRIPLE BET   Chapter 35: Avoiding Them

Lila's POVI started avoiding them the very next night. It wasn’t a big decision I planned out. It just happened. After the dorm head’s words and the rumors spreading everywhere, I couldn’t face Jax, Theo, or Miles without feeling ashamed. Every time I thought about seeing them, my stomach twisted. What if they looked at me differently now? What if they pitied me? Or worse — what if they agreed with the rumors in secret? So I changed my routine.Instead of starting on the top floor like I usually did, I stayed on the lower levels as long as possible. I cleaned the gym early, before any of them might show up for late workouts. I collected trash from the first and second floors first, then hurried through the common areas, always keeping an eye out so I could slip away if I saw one of them coming. When I finally had to go upstairs, I moved quickly and quietly. I kept my head down, earbuds in even though I wasn’t listening to music, just so I had an excuse not to talk if someone called m

  • THE CLEANER'S TRIPLE BET   Chapter 34: The Dorm Head’s Words

Lila's POVI stood in the dorm head’s small office, my hands clasped tightly in front of me. The room felt too warm and too small at the same time. The rumors had finally reached her, and she had called me in right after my shift started. She sat behind her desk, arms crossed, looking at me with a mix of anger and disappointment that made my stomach sink.“Lila,” she said, her voice sharp but tired, “I’ve been hearing some very disturbing things about you. Rumors that you’re using the boys here — especially Jax — for money. That you’re taking advantage of them. Is this true?”I swallowed hard, my throat tight. “No, ma’am. It’s not true at all. I didn’t take advantage of anyone. Jax, Theo, and Miles… they were just helping me. That’s all.”She leaned back in her chair and let out a short, bitter laugh, like she couldn’t believe what I was saying. “Helping you? Come on, Lila. Be realistic. Those boys come from good families. They have money, status, and high standards. Do you really exp
