“Just go,” he snapped, his voice low but edged with steel.

Her temper flared. “Fine!” she yelled back, spinning on her heel and storming away.

Anthony didn’t move. His gaze never left the road.

His gaze never left the road.Because until she arrived, nothing else not the party, not the guests, not even family mattered.A few minutes after Guinevere disappeared into the crowd, a security officer approached Anthony with measured respect.“Sir, the party is about to start.”Anthony turned slowly. His eyes were bloodshot, dark with something far more dangerous than irritation.“Thanks for notifying me,” he said flatly. He slipped his phone from his pocket and dialed Cleopatra’s number, lifting it to his ear with restrained urgency.“Sorry, the number you’re trying to call is kindly switched off.”His jaw tightened. He tried again. And again. The same cold response greeted him each time.A muscle ticked in his cheek as he dialed another number.Ring.“Hello, Anthony,” Alvin answered.“Did Cleopatra come to work today?”

Come with me.” Anthony’s voice was low, commanding, yet smooth, like silk sliding over steel.“Why should I?” she shot back, eyes narrowed, her stance unyielding.“Because it’s your job,” he said, the edge in his tone unmistakable. “You work here or would you prefer I take this up with Alvin?”Her lips pressed into a thin line, but she didn’t answer. Instead, Anthony’s hand gripped hers like iron and guided her to the sofa, his movements deliberate, unrelenting. He turned, effortlessly lifting two packages, and placed them in her lap.“Here. Open it.” His voice was calm, almost unnervingly so.She stared at the boxes. “What is this?”“Just open it.” A faint, teasing smile tugged at the corners of his lips. Her fingers trembled slightly as she peeled back the wrapping of the first box. A designer bag revealed itself, flawless, pristine. Her gaze snapped from the bag to Anthony, whose sheepish grin made her chest tighten, and back to the bag. Heart pounding, she reached for the second p

Pheebs’ soft laughter chimed through the room as she scrolled on her phone, her smile bright and smug.“Didn’t I tell you?” she said sweetly, tilting the screen toward them. “The internet is buzzing with Sabrina and Xander’s photos. Four days just four days and look at the traffic. Look at the sales both companies are cashing in on.”Jovita let out a low whistle, arms folding as she leaned back. “Especially the surfboard shots. Mr. Calvin really knows his way around showbiz.” She shook her head, half in awe. “I was skeptical at first, thought it was just another trend but jeez, the ratings shot through the roof.”“That’s good,” Cleopatra said calmly, though a faint curve of satisfaction touched her lips. “At least the company’s reputation will be set high.”Then her phone vibrated. The screen lit up.Alvin: [Come to work now. Anthony is in town. I don’t know exactly when he’s going to come to the club.]The air around Cleopatra seemed to tighten. Her fingers stilled. Whatever ease she

The sun hovered just above the horizon, setting the waves ablaze with molten gold. The beach was alive with the distant roar of the surf and the soft scuff of sand beneath feet.Sabrina, clad in sleek swim pants, waded lightly into the shallow water. The breeze played with her hair, tossing a few strands across her sun-kissed cheeks. Each movement was effortless yet precise, as if she were part of the ocean itself.Xander stood a few meters away in swim shorts, camera poised, eyes scanning every detail. He caught the way the light glinted off the rippling water, the way Sabrina’s silhouette shifted with each step, and he moved with a quiet intensity, capturing the moment frame by frame.“Hold that,” he murmured, voice almost lost to the crashing waves. Sabrina froze, letting the wind sculpt her posture, her gaze fixed somewhere beyond the horizon.A sudden gust lifted the corner of her sarong, twirling it dramatically before it settled back against her leg. Xander’s camera clicked rap

Smith pushed the office door open and stepped aside.“Please,” he said softly, “you may go in, sir.Moonshine crossed the threshold. At first, there was only darkness thick, suffocating until a single dim light burned at the far end of the room. A sharp click followed, and another light flickered on, the sound echoing unnaturally in the silence.“Good evening, Mr. Calvin,” Moonshine greeted, his voice betraying him with a faint tremor. The fragile glow finally revealed Calvin’s face. His striking features emerged from the shadows, sharp and composed, his blue eyes glinting like distant stars cold, watchful, unreadable.“What award did you win again?” Calvin asked, his tone smooth, almost idle.“The International Photography Award,” Moonshine replied, swallowing hard.A pause stretched between them.“Good,” Calvin said at last. “How did you get it?”Moonshine stiffened.“Pardon?” he echoed, confusion flashing across his face as unease crept deeper into his chest.“Did you earn it throu

“How’s work going?” Calvin’s voice cut through the air, sharp and deliberate, his gaze fixed like a hawk on Cleopatra seated beside him.“So far good,” Katie murmured from across Cleopatra, her tone casual, almost distant.Calvin leaned forward, the shadows in his eyes deepening, a quiet pressure pressing down like the weight of a storm about to break. “I know.”Katie startled, glancing at Cleopatra with a sheepish smile. “Oops… sorry. Calvin’s asking how work’s going today.”Cleopatra’s lips curved into a serene, almost radiant smile. “Very well,” she replied, her voice calm yet carrying a quiet confidence that seemed to illuminate the room.Moonshine, tired of the subtle undercurrents and quiet tension, finally stood. His eyes swept the room until they landed on Cleopatra, seated gracefully on the sofa. Without hesitation, he strode over.“Hi, Mr. Calvin,” he greeted, bowing slightly in respect.Calvin’s response was measured, deep, and steady. “Hi, Moonshine.”The air seemed to thr
