SERENA’S POV

After the mood souring realization of May’s little schemes and an even distasteful encounter with Eliot just when I said I should come down for dinner. I retired to my bedroom, had enough of them already. Both of them.

It almost seemed like they had planned to ruin my day for me. One intentionally leaving traces of her and her swollen belly everywhere she went in the house, and the other coming back home to rub salt on injury. “I should really block his number now,” I muttered, debating as I laid on my bed. “I already said I did, might as well just make it real. Not like he would care to confirm or anything. He probably has already gone to check on his May and baby.”

His little family… shame May’s unintentional plans didn’t work. I mean, I was positive she had indeed dropped her stuff everywhere. But I was sure it was just meant to piss me off, not inform my mom and Celeste. That was definitely not part of her plans. If it were, she would’ve just come downstairs to meet th

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 73

SERENA’S POV You will be surprised how silent our mansion can be especially after an incident so striking as me having loads of gift boxes getting tucked away in my bedroom. There was no noise. No comments. No questions. And above all, no quarrels. Can you believe that? I won’t lie to you I half expected Eliot to stop me at the stairs the next morning. To say something or just question what I was doing. His mistress-May saw it all after all. It wouldn’t be shocking if she informed him. But in the end, he did not. Did nothing at all. To my absolute surprise and partial disappointment. I for sure wanted to brag about my stuffs. It wasn’t even easy going to bed after unboxing each and every one of them. Wasn’t easy to stop smiling as more of Axel’s teasing and absolute ridiculousness filled my mind. But I did it anyways. Slept, woke up lighter than ever, had a shower the next day, then grabbed my stuff, sketches and everything important before jumping into my car and driving all

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 71

SERENA’S POV “What? Half- naked?” I couldn’t even stop the chuckles that left my lips at this point. This man is ridiculous! “Aww… you’re smiling so bright, Madam. What does it say?” I looked up, the excited squeals of the maid making me smile even more. Rosa’s scolding look finding her just then, sharp enough to make her lower her head. Poor girl was going to get a lecture after now. I just pocketed the note, shaking my head as I walked towards the now arranged gift boxes. “Which do I start with?” I giggled, unable to hide how giddy I felt staring at the all the packages. “Maybe we should take these upstairs, Madam?” Rosa suggested carefully, her eyes skeptical as she glanced upstairs. “It’s not… it’s not really safe here. Too many eyes.” “Eliot, you mean?” I muttered, huffing under my breath. He was the least of my concerns right now. And to prove my point, I grabbed one of the medium sized boxes. “Madam we- “Awww, wow…” I cooed softly, all smiles as the box slowly unveiled a b

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 70

SERENA’S POV “I can take care of them, they’re mine after all” I mimicked as I slammed the door. Or at least tried to. Even with my nose all scrunched up, face squeezed in nothing but pure distaste, I still couldn’t sound like that douchebag. “So annoying,” Grumbling, I kicked off my slippers, jumping right on my bed. The sketch pads and markers I had left to go downstairs for mom’s package, protesting in response. “I can’t believe he will say that. Helping me. He was helping? H-how??” Right from those divorce papers down to the very moment that just happened downstairs, what part displayed him helping me? Is it the part when he wanted to use me as a cover for the Inner circle gathering? Or the part where he tried to kiss me for his ‘crazy fantasy’? Or even now that he was putting my name as the mother of his unborn child? His bastard?! “Oh God,” I muttered, a humorously crackle leaving my lips as I shook my head. Disappointed. “Eliot’s crazy. Delusional. The man is totally not thi

MAY’S POV“Tell your mom who really is pregnant for you and stop complicating my life! You've done enough. And don't you dare; don't you dare put my name along with your bastards in the same sentence!"Her words rang through the house, vibrating as she stormed up the stairs. Like she always does. Only this time, I knew something was wrong. Something was definitely wrong! Then came the loud thud, “Can’t believe this!”Eliot. Our eyes met briefly as he looked around, gauging just how much we all saw from his display with that Serena. And without a word, he walked away. Heading for the very same stairs she used. “Did you hear that?” A whisper came, “He told the Lady he will take care of Madam and the baby.”“But Madam’s not having a baby. Instead it’s that-” their words got cut off immediately, my glare tight as I glowered at them. Were they seriously going to point at me? Gossiping close was not enough, they wanted to point and laugh as well? In my face??The nerves of these maids! It wa

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 68

ELIOT’S POV Who knew getting female bodyguards would be this stifling? One moment I point out I don't want excessive feedback and the next moment I receive zero feedbacks all together. Why? Because I had pointed out the excessiveness in the first place?? Should I have just gotten male bodyguards from the start? “See if you can get a replacement for the bodyguards, Elias. Males this time.” I muttered as we drove home. “Is something wrong with the females, Sir?” He asked, looking back at me from the rear-view mirror. “They started a few days ago so...” “Males are better for the job, are they not?” “They are, Sir.” He blinked, looking back at the road. After a moment, “But Sir, if you don’t want Madam to know about it… females are your best bet. They wouldn’t stand out as much.” Of course they wouldn’t. They probably disguised to follow her about, reason why they kept losing her all over the place. Starting from her very first day out with them! “They’re professionals, I assur
