SERENA'S POV

Couple of minutes later after that, we headed out. Me to Ward Syndicate building and Axel back to his office. He'd taken a long break to come see me, and promised to pick me up as well.

Which was fine because we would have dinner. We've been doing that a lot recently and as surprising as it may seem, I loved it.

Insane delicious food + Axel explaining his experience outside the country when he attempted a cooking profession, I don't see why I won't love dinner.

Other than that, it felt good. Warm, to have someone to share the night with not just having sex.

Even if I wouldn't the sex.

Frankly, if I was being honest. I wanted to check It out. I mean, I should. Maybe that way I'd see it's even better and permanently have no need to be thinking back at someone else.

My package would be complete.

Make sense, right?

I probably sound like a slut right now, right?

Yup. I do. Time to concentrate, concentrate Serena.

If Serena doesn't want him, she should make that clear right away. Either give him a chance or move on with the manipulative Axel, who adds nothing to her life.

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    Chapter 174

SERENA'S POV "You've been going there a lot lately. Shouldn't these visits be limited to calls? Video calls maybe?""They can't," I said, biting down on the pin in my mouth, between my lips. My hands on the mannequin in front of me, the fabric there. "We've signed the contract, yes. But they're also things I need to know to properly be on board with the team. I can't just let them do everything and not know what they're doing.""And what is wrong with that?" He retorted, "What is wrong with them doing everything and you nothing?"What?I paused right then, releasing a breath as I faced him fully. "Is there a problem here, Axel? Is something wrong because you've been acting real bossy towards me and I don't like that. I know what I'm doing, I'm not a child."He sighed, "I just don't want you going over there every time. Meeting him.""I'm not going there to meet Eliot.""But you do meet him. Don't you?"I opened my mouth to refute that, say I had no interest in seeing him and this wa

ELIOT'S POV "We will." I said in response, quick. Cause did she think I was going to let some dumb ass handle or be in such close contact with her as a team lead? I was the leader of this team. Her team. And I would make sure everything as regards to her goes on without a hinge. No offence but no team lead will be contacting my wife for whatever reason. I already had one bastard to deal with, needed no more. The meeting went on after that, rounding up. A few more pointers, re-evaluation of all that'd been talked about, everyone was dispersed. My feet rising and moving before I could think twice. The door to the conference room opened, she stepped out, and so did I. Our movements in sync. The staff behind us, murmuring. Whispering, but I could hardly care what it was about. My eyes were fixed on her. On her hair. The long, smooth black mass rooted in her scalp and falling back down to her waist. That same waist I remembered holding unto as she unraveled on top of my face. Twisting

SERENA'S POV "How was today? You liked it?" I blinked. Frozen as his voice reached my ears. Deep. Smooth. Feeling surprisingly close. So close. Too close, I could feel my nipples pushing through my bra from effect. Erect. Like they'd been called to life by just his voice. Didn't need a prophecy to know that spending more time in this elevator wouldn't lead to anything good. At least not the kind suitable for an office environment. But then again, I'd wondered what it would be like. To come here. To see him, in his office. Get pinned to his desk. The same desk that he'd spent several nights over working his ass away and leaving me cold at the house! On our matrimonial bed. I'd wondered what it would be like to have him work on me too. To get pushed on the smooth crystal clear glass, my ass sliding clean with the juices already dripping. Him throwing off stuff, attention completely on me. I'd wondered what it would be like. And right now, looking at him...what was stopping me?

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    Chapter 171

SERENA'S POV Axel was right. The contract did hold some unbelievable benefits if I took it.Other than the obvious visibility, I'd also get to partner with several local and international brands. That stage alone made my desire for a solo runway even more believable to my own ears.I could pull it off with that kind of network. I mean sure I'd have to really upgrade my current production process and labour. But it just meant more speed was needed to be put in for the getting an official building thing.I needed to get a place. Launch the collections I had in mind and make complete and absolute use of the opportunity been delivered unto my lap.But of course, I did pause to wonder what he was to gain from all of these. Eliot.I wasn't stupid. Not one bit. He wasn't the kind of man to do things without benefiting anything. A lethal schemer. He went along with a scheme directly against his wife just because it aligned with his set goals, didn't he?He would gain as much as he was giving

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    Chapter 170

ELIOT'S POV Only after leaving her and heading back to the house, replaying it all again in my head did I realise something.I was wrong.I was wrong to have said things like that. Right from the time I started with stuff about knowing everything about fashion and what she needed. Even if it were the truth, don't really think it should've come out like that. Especially after seeing her features get skeptical. That should've been the hint. The hint. 'Take a hint next time, will you?' I mentally scolded myself, going up the stairs to my bedroom but immediately reversing when I realised I was heading for the shower. A force of habit no doubt. But no way was I washing her off so soon.Rather, I moved to my study to face the pile of workload I hadn't been able to do all these while she possessed my mind. It was during that it came in.A text. Her text."I'm considering taking you up on your offer, but they're things I need to ask first."My pulse quickened instantly, hands grabbing and
