“May,”

“Yeah, its me!” she giggled, “How are you, Eli? You-

“What do you want?” I cut her off, not needing this conversation to go on more than necessary. “I told you to only contact me during emergencies. Is this an emergency?”

I had wanted to just end the call right then, but I noticed there were shuffles around. Voices murmuring in the background. “She’s playing the act again,” I muttered, already tired before it even began.

SERENA’S POV“Are you serious? We have orders online too? Not just these posts?”I nodded, smiling at her excited eyes. “I have to make new dresses,” she gasped, “We have to make stitches and- are you really sure about this, madam?”“Of course, I’m sure!” I laughed, “I’m very sure, you can see the messages too. It’s all real.”“Wow,” she breathed, eyes on my iPad that I gave her. “They’re so many… so many messages. This is … this is a miracle! My prayers worked.”“Yeah they did,” I took a glass, sipping as I watched her. “I wish I prayed too. Maybe we would’ve gotten much more than we have right now.” I remember saying there was no need for the prayers that night, but Mae joined the contestants all the same.Glad she did. “Prayers or no prayers…” Axel cut in, holding up his glass. “Can we toast to this evening, now? You ladies have me on chokehold waiting for you all to finish talking before we dive into this magnificent dessert sitting here.”My eyes went to the cake- the magnifice

SERENA’S POV“Have you seen it?”“Did you see it? Have you seen it, Axel?!”“Calm down, will you? I’m just coming from your socials now.” He chuckled lightheartedly,“Calm?” I repeated, smiling. “I cannot be calm, I cannot! I’m everywhere, Axel. Everywhere! The blogs, the news, the hashtags…“Social media?”“The freaking social media!” I couldn’t even hold back a squeal at this point. My voice high pitched and full of excitement as I rolled all over my bed. Hair a nasty mess in no time. “I’m trending! I am trending, can you believe it?”“I cannot!” he chuckled, “This is… this is massive, Rena. Real massive, look at you on your page! You posted one of your pictures. Look at you coming out of your shell, huh? Where is little miss shy now?”I laughed, loud and delighted. “She is long gone! I’ll tell you that for free.”“I wonder what your mom is going to say about this, those people in living in that house too.”“What? I don’t care about that.” I sat up, serious. “I don’t care about them

ELIOT'S POV “These damn losers…” I muttered, clicking them open. “What do they even know? What do they think they know to be dropping so much comments and speculations?” “@wordwitch This blog is giving ‘final straw’ energy. Love it!!” “@NoSoftness I can already feel the divorce coming. A real expensive divorce! And to think this is all real… oh I can’t wait to be in the know of which wealthy family this is!” My pulse quickened just then. Fists tensed, as I forced myself not to think about what those words stirred in my head. “@Idontcare Does the husband not think about all his doing? I mean this lady is his wife. How can he not see all this pain she’s bearing?” “@Milicent @Idontcare, How can he possibly see her pains, when he doesn’t even know his wife? I bet he doesn’t even know her favorite color. Scumbag! Please upload more often.” What? That’s- “@sweetpills Imagine the husband reading all of this… how will he even react?” Exactly! How would he react? Just reading it

  • THE GLASS WIFE; the storm he built himself    CHAPTER 86

ELIOT'S POVThe earlier taste of my scotch now felt like drops of acid down my throat. Burning raw, bitter and utterly disgusting with every passing second. “Sir,” John started. Cautious. “Sir, what are we to do about all this? How do we handle-“Let it be,” I growled, eyes not leaving the screen. Fuming. “Sir?”“I said let it be, John. Let them fucking say whatever the hell they want!”My voice echoed everywhere. Rage coursing through my veins and John understood that. “Yes, Sir,” he left no moment less. Leaving me in the silence. With my screen. With the disgust that came with those very pictures. And as if that wasn’t enough, my intercom buzzed.“Sir, you have a call; Fountaine Group,” My features darkened automatically. Eyes narrowing with malice stirring at the thought of having to speak with the very reason for all of this mess; Cecilia Vale.“How did you like my gift, Beckett?” her voice smudged through. Prideful in every way.“You did this,” I spat.“Did what? Show the world an
