Dad and I spent the next hour comforting Tristan. That was the first time I’d ever seen a grown man so depressed. I knew he loved Sadie but in my opinion, Sadie didn’t deserve all that. She was a snake that needed to be weeded out. I hated her so much for what she did. To me, and to Tristan. At least, she never succeeded in all her attempts against me.

Deandra stood silently by, surprisingly looking sympathetic. Even she didn’t dare say she told him so. A part of me wondered if that was her being nice or because Dad was around. “Tristan.” She cleared her throat. “I’m sorry about all of this but we… you need to confront her. My contact has informed me she’ll be here any minute, are you up to it?”

Tristan sharply glanced up at her. “Your contact? Oh. I forgot who I was talking to.” He turned to me, forcing a pained laugh. “She has contacts who tell her things. She was right about Sadie all along, huh?”
