Chapter five: Home feels different

After staying in the hospital for more than a week, Irene was tired and was ready to go home with the kids.

She was finally discharged.

Meanwhile.

The workers in Kel's villa were busy preparing for the arrival of the Mrs and her children.

The maid incharge of all the household activities, was busy ordering the workers around and making sure everything was perfect.

Maria, Irene mother was overjoyed, she was now a grandmother.

She had not yet seen her grandchildren because she was still at London when they were born.

But now she was at Kel's villa waiting for their arrival.

"Maria"

Kel's mother Christina.  Called out.

"What are you doing here??"

"I didn't think you would bother coming."

Maria rolled her eyes, she knew this woman all to well.

She had a very irritating personality.

But Maria wasn't going to let her ruin her mood so she just played along.

"Why wouldn't I be here?? I mean my daughter just gave birth and I need to protect her and my grandchildren from you!"

"Hmm." Just thought you were to busy travelling around the world and doing absolutely nothing with your life."

"I guess I now know why Irene is so useless, It's because she has a mother like you."

Maria couldn't take this insult.

For as long as she could remembered this woman had always been very hurtful. She had always been terrible to her daughter and now she was fed up.

She was sick of this woman.

And was terrible angry, she wasn't going to ignore her anymore.

She was about to say something when she suddenly heard her daughter's voice behind her.

"Mum."

Irene called out as she went to meet her mother.

Four nannies trailed behind her each holding a child.

When she walked in she had noticed the tension between Maria and Christina but she decided to ignore it.

She went up to Irene and gave a big hug. She had not seen her for quite some time now.

Her mother was a philanthropist who liked travelling the world and helping other people as best as she could, She hated being tied down to anything.

But many people saw her as a too spirited woman who was afraid of responsibilities. Including Christina Kel's mother.

But Irene loved her mum, she saw her as a brave and beautiful woman who raised her to be fearless and didn't care about what others say.

Maria was so happy, she had not seen her daughter for months now.

"Are you okay??"

"How are you feeling ??"

"Mum I'm fine, I feel great."

Irene had missed her mother so much, Her mother was all she had in this world, most times she felt so alone especially with Christina's constant harassment. But at this moment she was so glad her mother was here especially because she needed someone she could trust to help take good care of the children.

Kel who was also in the room went to welcome his mother in law, had great respect for this woman.

She had single-handedly established a lot in her life.

After saying acknowledging her son in law, Maria went up to nannies and stared at her little grand babies.

They looked so beautiful words couldn't describe how she felt.

There presence alone make her feel so blessed.

Irene walked up to her and whispered, home feels different now doesn't it.
