Mr. Matthew walks into the room, his eyes on Adrian and Owen, then they finally land on me.
"What's going on here?" he asks.
No one replies; they both just glare at each other in silence. I look around, and that's when I notice the crowd of people at the doorway, phones in their hands as they record the scene.
"Young men, you are disturbing the peace of this environment," he says calmly, but I can see each word laced with controlled anger.
"I'm so sorry, Sir," I say.
"It's fine, but I'm sorry I'll have to ask you guys to leave," he says with a voice that sounds stern but also polite.
Owen opens his mouth to speak but decides not to. Adrian glances at me for a while, then turns to Owen, his eyes filled with so much hate; he walks away without a word, pushing through the crowd of people.

Adrian's POVI follow her behind as she walks into a small room, the scent of lavender and strawberry filling the air, her laptop sitting on the front desk, her black coat strapped around the chair, the walls painted a cream white, no much designs, just plain paint, article papers and folders scattered around the front desk.Nothing too fancy just a typical office setting."Sorry for the mess, I wasn't expecting anyone," she says, hurrying to pick up the folders and papers."No, it's fine," I simply say, taking a seat just close to the window. I can spot my favorite coffee shop from just around the corner."So what brings you here?" she asks, and I snap my head away from the window."Oh nothing serious, I actually came to visit a friend of mine, he works here so I decided to visit. Ezra said he wanted to see yo
Sera's POVI climb the stairs, my gaze sweeping across the building. It's been a while since I last came to the office, after the whole court incident, I've stayed away.I inhale the familiar office scent, trying to ignore the workers who are staring at me and whispering among themselves."Good morning, Miss Sera! Long time no see." Jane from the printing office practically bursts out of the managing director's office, her hands tugging at her skirt as she keeps adjusting it.There are rumors that she and the managing director are having an affair.Well, now I'm pretty sure those aren't just rumors."Where have you been?" she asks with a smile plastered on her face. From the way the smile wavers at the edges and the way her eyes flicker with every word, I can tell it's fake.
Adrian's POVI sit on the couch, flipping through the files in my arms, my mind racing through every possible outcome of this conversation.Aaron walks in, his hands in his pockets, and a cool smirk playing at the corner of his lips."Why did you call for a family meeting? What's so important that you need to discuss?" he asks, raising an eyebrow."You'll find out soon," I say, getting up from the couch.Just then, my dad walks in with an angry expression plastered on his face."Why did you call for a family meeting?" he demands, his voice sharp."You'll find out soon." I pause for a moment, meeting his glare."Where's Mom?"He strides into the living room, his jaw tight, his movements deliberate and controlled.
Sera's POV"He's mean, acts out, he's annoying. Why would you think I like him?" I say to Owen, my chest rising and falling as I try to catch my breath.Owen raises both hands in surrender, a small smile playing on his lips. "It's fine; I was only joking."I shake my head and walk over to the window, crossing my arms over my chest. The afternoon sun shimmers through the glass, warming my skin. "Well, it's not funny. Adrian is the last person on earth I would ever have feelings for.""Okay, okay. I believe you," Owen says, but his tone tells me he doesn't really believe me at all.I turn to face him, ready to argue more, but the words get lost in my throat. Because deep down, I know I'm lying. I know that every time Adrian walks into a room, my heart does this stupid little flutter. I know that when
Adrian's POVSera's legs fly up and kick my kneecap. I immediately drop her to the ground. Then I pick up a smiling Ezra and wrap him in a warm tight hug."Finally," I say with a smile. The courtroom is already almost empty, people leaving in their masses. I turn to where my parents stood before but they aren't there, neither is Ivy.Oh well, I guess I'm going home with Sera and Ezra then.I pick up Ezra and begin to leave the courtroom. His small arms wrap around my neck as I carry him out.We get to the parking lot. My parents' car is gone, so I just go to my car and tuck Ezra into the back seats. The little boy yawns, tired from the long day in court.Sera attempts to open the door but I hold her hand. Her skin feels warm under my palm.
