Chapter four

I was on the bus, headed to Visita city, a town of green pastures but also a place for miscreants. I sat by the side of the window whilst the cold winter breeze swept and brushed my cheeks. It tussled my hair from one end to the other. The pain of leaving my family behind really got to me. I remembered the tears of my mom and really wanted to erase anything in regards to pain in her heart.

With a deep sigh, I tried to erase the memories of Armando from my heart but it was impossible. His words to me during our last encounter kept banging in my ears. The main reason I was leaving Mola was to get over him and start a new life for myself away from toxicity.

A few hours after the drive, I reached Visita city and the sweet fragrance and nosegay of its air met my nostrils. I stared at the well civilised city and watched how various cars dabbed from one point to the other.

After a few minutes I was dropped at the park and guess what, I didn't even have a place to go. I never thought of where i would sleep but then the only thing that filled my head was to leave Mola. I stared around very confused while wearing a dark jumpsuit.

I sluggishly left the park with my bag strapped on my back. I gloated, very confused and phew it was quite a headache to me. No one cared to ask me what I was really looking for. Nonetheless, I was ready for this battle and I was resilient enough to win.

I had nowhere to go and so I just strolled on the streets of Visita and didn't even know who to converse with.

"Hey there" Said a voice which was accompanied with a touch on my shoulders from behind me which made me flinch. I quickly turned and jammed eyes with a muscular man with blonde hair.

"Hi" I drawled and waved slightly. He was staring at me with a broad smile and I had no option but to also return the gesture.

"Are you new?" He asked and I was surprised how he knew. I looked at myself to see if there was probably a sign on my body that showed it.

"No, I am not, and why are you asking?" I bawled. Surprised about my response right? Yeah that's what mom told me before I came. She told me that Visita was a big city and I should never tell anyone that I am new when I arrive or they are going to take advantage of me.

He stared at me sternly and ran his eyes from my head to my toes and also stared at my bag. on seeing that he glared at my bag, I grabbed it more tightly. Then he began to smile and I wondered what was funny.

"What is it and why are you staring at me? If you have nothing to say, I will suggest you scram" I said boldly. The smile which he had on his face suddenly turned to a serious look.

"Woww, wow, wow. calm down. I only asked if you are new because you did look like a new person in Visita. I thought possibly you were looking for a job and maybe a place to rest your head and that's why I approached you. I am sorry, I shouldn't have bothered you" He said and turned to leave.

"Wait mister" I said as he was leaving and he immediately halted.

" What is it?" He said and slowly turned to behold me again. I stared at him for a while and tried to evaluate if he seemed good and to me he seemed okay.

" I actually need a job," I muttered. He gaped at me and narrowed his left eye.

" You need a job? But i thought you said you aren't new to Visita?" He asserted and stared boldly.

" Just leave that aside and tell me if you can help me with a job," I said. He gazed at me for some seconds before he commenced talking again.

" Okay, I think this place is crowded. Let's go elsewhere so we can discuss the job and when you can start" He said. My eyes widened on hearing this.

" Somewhere else? Why can't we just discuss it here? I opined.

" NO, we can't discuss business on the road, where is that done? Just follow me" He said. I was hesitant to follow me but then he grabbed my wrist. I frowned and quickly thrutched his hands away from mine.

"I am sorry about that. I know you do not trust me but I need you to trust me before we can work together. I would have walked away a long time ago, but then I see you are really stranded and that's why I opted to help. but it's okay if you do not trust me. I can as well leave now" He said and turned to leave immediately.

" Please wait, I am sorry" I said and for a second time he freezed in motion.

" Let's go, I really need the job." I pleaded. He turned to me with a partial smile.

" It's Okay. I do understand how you feel. i would have felt same way if i were in your shoes. So without further ado, i think we need to go now because I have got work to do" He said. I nodded and walked behind him while he led the way.

He walked me between different folks of whom I jammed shoulders with while on my journey to the unknown.

" So where are you from? " He inquired while we were still walking but then I was by his right hand side.

" I am actually from Mola "I said with my eyes roaming from one point of the street to the other.

" Oh okay, that's nice. '' He said but then I gave no reply to it but just nodded as all I needed at that point was to get to the workplace and hopefully start work.

He took turns in between two tall buildings and walked more briskly. Suddenly I felt a shadow behind me. I turned and I was shocked to see two hefty men behind me. I was frightened and stopped walking. I turned again and saw that the other fellow was still walking swiftly without noticing that I had stopped. The two hefty men aadvanced more closer to me while frowning. I wanted to run to the left side but then it was closed with a building and the same thing on the right . They both looked at themselves and smiled when they saw that I realized I had nowhere to escape to.

" Please, I need help," I said and started walking backwards very quickly.

" Calm down my darling" a voice from behind me and I was grabbed. I turned and saw that it was the man who promised me a job that blocked me now.

" Let go of me or i swear i am going to rip your heart outta your chest." I roared and tried dragging him but then he held tightly and before I knew it, the other guys also joined him.

"Shut the fuck up" Said on of the thugs and scratched my arm with his claws.

"Let go of the bag now" Said the fellow who lured me to the trap. I held onto my bag tightly as it had my clothes and the little money I was able to gather so I could get some food. As much as I wanted to morph and defend myself, I couldn’t because Julia refused communicating to me after my rejection. She was too broken because she was so attached to Armando. So literally I was more like a human now.

" Please let go of me, please I beg of you" I cried but then paid a deaf ear to me. Fighting them would be a waste of time as they were all hefty and looked vicious.

" Please let go of me please. Please somebody help, please" I screamed at the top of my voice.

"Shut up and stop making this harder. Give it to us or else you want to lose your life right?" Said the first guy.

" Stop it right there, you bastards " Roared a voice from behind us all. They immediately turned and dropped me as soon as they saw the person that. I also rose up to see who it was that could stopped them.

I saw a muscular man, his biceps bulging in his shirt. He jaw was sharp and his chestnut brown eyes were so cute or rather beautiful because I’d be undermining it if I called it cute. He was the beautiful man I had set my eyes.

“Are you fine?” He asked and his voice went straight to my stomach and shook everything in me. His voice carried confidence, masculinity and boldness.

I shook my lips but couldn’t even answer his question but kept gawking at him as he advanced more closer to me.

“Are you okay” he repeated again but now the feeling was times hundred than the first time because he was standing right in front of me…
