LOGINInnessa couldn't sleep the whole night when she returned to her dorm. She locked herself in and hugged her knees to her chest, trying to stop the quivering of her fingers.
Her heart was a stuttering mess. She was scared. So damn scared. What Issac did to her was so wrong and blasphemous, and what scared her to the core was her involuntary reaction to it.
How could he be so mean to her? Innessa just wanted to stay away from him. She would've stayed miles away from him if she knew his true nature.
But now she had gotten herself into this trouble. What hurt more was the beautiful memories she had with Issac. They were all lies; those beautiful moments were nothing but him making a fool of her. And it hurts even more knowing that she still felt for him, but after what he did today, she was terrified of him.
Innessa had every right to stay away from him. She had the right to choose what she wanted, so how could he be so cruel to her?
Punishing her like this just because she didn't listen and wasn't there; where he wanted her to be didn't give him the right to be her judge and give her punishments.
Her cheeks flamed, and her vision blurred with tears recalling everything he did to her in that restroom stall.
He was so daring that he barged into her classroom even though the professor was there, he still molded the situation in his favor to get her out of there.
Innessa had made it clear to him that she couldn't offer him more than kisses, and that too when they were in a relationship. Did he think he got permission to do these things to her just because she broke up with him?
Never in a billion years could she think something like that would happen. Even if she got married, she never knew that such a thing even existed. Yes, she was aware and knew about intercourse and a little make-out stuff, but what Issac did was sinful. It was wrong.
She told him to stop, but he didn't listen to her and not only that he even restrained her hands, she was so afraid but those weren't the only emotions she was feeling.
Innessa felt such strong foreign emotions that she had never felt before. For the first time in her life, she tasted pleasure and it was so strong that her mind went blank and she was on the verge of passing out after the second time. She couldn't even feel her legs when Issac let go of her.
Issac didn't have a single bone of shame in him.
What would she say to her future husband? But the thought of another man except for Issac tore her heart apart but what he did today she didn't want to give him a second chance. He lost it after punishing her like this.
What if those girls saw Innessa like that? Just the thought of it had her heart stopping in dread. He was being so cold and scary. She didn't want to see that side of him ever. What he did could've put her scholarship at huge risk.
Innessa kissed him in the car without him having to ask for it because she was scared and didn't want him to repeat those things.
She wiped a tear that slid down her cheek. She was so embarrassed because he saw the most intimate part of her, and apart from that she was ashamed in front of her God because what Issac did to her felt good.
Innessa knew it was wrong and he shouldn't have done that but it felt good. She was angry at herself because her body reacted to his touch. It was because she still liked him. No, it wasn't a liking. Deep down she knew she had fallen in love with Issac's personality which wasn't even real. And it hurts.
The whole night she kept tossing and turning. She was anxious thinking he might barge into her room through the window, though it was securely closed but when it comes to Issac. She realized that he wasn't a calm person. He had immense unhinged tendencies and his personality was dark, immoral even just as he said.
To think that he helped her and was being such a gentleman felt like a dream after witnessing his true nature. The side he showed her was a complete contrast to the person he truly was.
The next day in class she was physically present but her mind was still stuck with Isaac's constant thoughts. She just hoped he wouldn't show up or contact her ever again and just forget about her. She will not forgive him for what he did to her and she might not be able to forgive herself as well for finding pleasure in such a sinful act. She was utterly distressed because she knew she had sinned and must seek forgiveness from God. She couldn't stay like this, knowing her God was disappointed in her.
Elena seemed worried for her. She even asked if everything was okay because she did notice that Innessa had deleted the post on I*, but then reposted it later. Innessa dismissed the topic and gave her an excuse that she just felt homesick and the stress of upcoming exams was taking a toll on her.
Just like that, three days passed and she engrossed herself in her studies, spending most of her time in the library and staying up late at night studying. She couldn't muster up the courage to go to the church and face her creator because she was ashamed and needed time to bring that courage.
During those days, not once, Issac contacted her. She did find him in the library once. To her utter shock, he was fully focused and studying. She instantly fled from there. He didn't contact her during the next few days and gave her space. She was thankful about it but that didn't mean that after the exam she'll appreciate him approaching her. Innessa would be thankful if he could just leave her alone.
Despite focusing hard, Issac was still looming somewhere in her mind that it was hard for her to focus but she did try her best and did well in the exams.
Innessa stepped out of the hall after submitting her last exam. Elena, who was already waiting for her outside, jumped on her in joy. Both of them stepped out of the department to find Darla and Scarlett waiting for them.
Four of them headed to the arcade. They had planned it thoroughly. On the last day, they'd head to the arcade, have fun, have a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant, and have some ice cream on their way back home.
The girls had the best times of their lives in the arcade. They enjoyed themselves so much and later went to the famous Chinese place instead of the fancy restaurant.
They were sitting there chatting as Elena was talking about her love interest from the law department, her crush, and the girls were listening attentively as the empty seat beside Innessa slid back.
All of their heads snapped to the person and Innessa stiffened when her eyes met with those dark cognac brown hues that were engraved in her core memories.
"Good evening, ladies," Issac mused as two other giant frames came into their line of vision.
"Mind if we join?" Maddox asked, grinning causing Scarlett's eyes to turn ablaze.
"Sure," Elena chirped, causing three of the girls to give her a side eye, making her realize she had made a blunder.
Maddox grabbed his chair and dragged it to Elena's side as he sat on it facing Scarlett.
Theo sat at the end of the table silently while Issac sat beside Innessa who was stiff as a statue as she kept her gaze locked on the table.
"Did you guys order anything?" Maddox asked, grabbing the menu.
"You're not welcome here," Scarlett seethed.
"Aw, little dragon is mad?" He mused, smirking.
Innessa's breath hitched when Issac gently grabbed her hand under the table and intertwined their fingers. He brought her hand to his face and gently kissed the back of her hand, resting their intertwined hands on his thigh as everyone ordered, the atmosphere got a bit awkward because of their sudden intrusion.
The surroundings were light and fresh but after the three decided to join the girl, the temperature dropped to a bit of a cold, awkward, and intimidating setting.
"We were here to drink and then saw you guys," Issac said.
"It's a girls' time, you are intruding, you know," Scarlett said facing him.
"But I wanted to spend some time with my girl," Issac said, making Scarlett sigh as she tried to ignore them and faced Theodore who was simply glaring at the table.
"What's with you? Angel twin?" Scarlett asked. She had distinguished the twins as Angel and evil. Everyone knows who was the evil twin for Scarlett.
"I was thinking. You said it's a girls' time. Have you guys been out enjoying since the afternoon?" Thoe asked.
"Yeah, we went to the arcade, had so much fun and then we decided to have dinner, ouch-Darla! That f*cking hurts, stop pinching me," Scarlett grumbled rubbing her arm as Darla kept her eyes fixed on her empty plate.
"There was a mosquito," Darla lied.
The atmosphere was tense and heavy.
"How did your exams go?" Issac asked his thumb gently stroking her skin.
"Good," that was her short reply.
"I missed you a lot," he leaned down whispering in her ear as he inhaled her scent deeply.
Innessa bobbed her head not knowing what else to say. Was she supposed to thank him for leaving her alone, which she wanted?
She was mad at herself because her heart was beating way too fast because of this man. He still had a huge effect on her and she didn't know how she'd be able to move on if he kept doing things like this.
"Didn't you miss me?" He asked.
I did.
She wanted to say that but after what he did in the restroom, she would never say it.
Swallowing thickly, she mustered up the courage to face him.
"I still haven't forgiven you for the lies but then you added that punishment and made things worse," her voice was small but his eyes visibly darkened at her words.
Innessa averted her gaze trying to free her hand slowly but he tightened his hold. The only reason she said that to him was because she was in front of her friends and his cousins. He wouldn't do anything in front of them.
A couple of seconds later the waiter brought their food and everyone dug into the food. Thankfully he let go of her hand. The guys ordered drinks as well, Scarlett and Elena also ordered the drinks but Innessa and Darla refused to drink, excusing that they should remain sober to look after Elena and Scarlett.
Everyone had their meal in silence when all of a sudden Innessa froze up, the spoon remained raised in the air as her breath hitched before she inhaled sharply and took the bite.
Issac had grabbed her hand that was on her thigh. She jerked it out of his hold after putting her spoon down only for him to grab her thigh dominantly in his big veiny hand as a zap of jolt shivered down her spine and she jerked in her place.
Scarlett blinked at her. "You good?" She asked as Innessa quickly nodded tucking her strand behind her ear as she drank some water to calm her nerves down while his hand gently squeezed her thigh, his fingers pressing on her inner thigh.
She tried to remove his hand but Issac was persistent. She tried not to show any emotion because everyone was there at the table.
Innessa kept eating her food slowly while grabbing his hand with her free hand so his hand wouldn't wander further up. She faced him giving him a small pleading look as he leaned down. "Why did you pull your hand away in the first place?" He mused pulling back and eating his food with his left hand.
Who was she kidding? It was Issac she was talking about. Not a second later his hand moved further up closer to her intimacy which made her react rather quickly as Innessa grabbed the fork and plunged it on top of his hand causing him to stifle a groan as he instantly let go of her thigh.
Barely a second passed and she realized what she had done. Though she hadn't used enough strength to cause severe damage, still there were four small droplets of blood forming on his hand.
"I'm sorry," she whispered, grabbing a tissue and gently placing it on his hand wiping the blood carefully and pressing on the wound all the while Issac watched her with a serene smile on his face.
It brought him immense peace knowing that she still cared for him.
"What happened?" Elena asked.
Innessa looked at her panicked but Issac spoke up.
"Nothing, her fork accidentally grazed my skin while falling," he lied smoothly and the girls believed him but both Maddox and Theo gave him a look that meant they knew he was being naughty, the slight smirks on their lips pissed him off.
Innessa let go of his hand as they resumed eating. But she retrieved a band-aid from her bag and put it on the back of his hand and his heart melted at her gesture.
He wanted to kiss her then and there. F*ck. She makes him lose his mind.
After dinner, Issac paid for the meal despite the girls telling him not to, except for Innessa because she knew he wouldn't listen.
None of them drink enough to be drunk as Elena said her goodbyes and Maddox hailed a cab for her.
The girls were about to leave when Issac pulled Innessa to his side telling them he'll drop her at the dormitory. Theo offered them a ride and Scarlett agreed, Theo dropped Darla and Scarlett while Maddox left for the club on his bike. He still needed to party.
Innessa didn't want to be with Issac alone. She was afraid of him but she didn't want to create a scene in front of her friends.
Issac grabbed her hand interlacing their fingers as he walked her to the nearest ice cream shop and bought two ice creams. He handed her favorite flavor the one he used to buy for her when they were together, he still remembers what she liked. Innessa quietly took it from him as they ambled into the park and occupied one of the benches.
After having their ice cream, they just sat there quietly for a while before he broke the silence though just sitting like that with her felt so relaxing. He deprived himself of her for the last few days and he just felt like hugging the life out of her right now.
"Are you mad at me?" He asked and the girl quickly bobbed her head but then paused and straightened herself staring ahead.
"Did you forgive me?" He queried and her temper rose.
"An apology is not enough for what you did," she said curtly, not facing him.
"Then what shall I do to win you back?" He asked.
"You can't. We can't be together. You've to let go of me," she said.
Issac tossed his head back and inhaled deeply to summon the patience that was Mia at the moment.
"I can't," he said with a sinister calmness in his voice.
"What do you want from me?" She asked, her voice small, eyes cautious as he faced her.
"Everything," he rasped with an intense look in his eyes.
"Body, soul, and heart. Everything of yours," he rasped.
That clear declaration of him left her speechless as she averted her eyes feeling a shiver rake up her spine.
"I should get going," she said, getting to her feet and wanting to leave, he grabbed her wrist and yanked her causing her to fall on his lap as he wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her closer and earning a surprised gasp from her.
"Why didn't you go to church?" He asked and she stiffened realizing he was keeping tabs on her. And their positions and proximity didn't help her at all.
"I... I was busy studying," she lied. She couldn't tell him she was ashamed and wanted to confess her sins to God and for that, she had to gather up some courage. The sins' sole reason was Issac.
"Hmm. What are you planning for the semester break?" He asked.
"Nothing. I'll continue my part-time job," she said in a small voice.
Leaning closer he gently kissed her cheek and pulled back as she sat there stiff as a board. He didn't like it. He wanted his old carefree Innessa back. The one sitting on his lap was too guarded around him.
"I'm sorry, Innessa," he said, voice deep with a British accent as he held her hand on her lap gently.
"Just give me another chance and I won't give you a reason to leave me," he said in a gentle tone bringing her hand to his lips as he kissed the back of her hand softly.
"Give me some time," She breathed and a grin split across his lips.
"Take all the time but in the end please choose me," he said, kissing her fluffy cheek again as she got off his lap. He let go of her willingly.
Issac was happy and didn't want to make any blunder as he dropped her at the dormitory like a true gentleman and didn't even lock the door or demand her to kiss him. He let her go just because he was too happy because she considered giving him a chance.
Now he just hoped she'd choose him and forgive him.
He couldn't wait to spoil her with the crazy feelings that he was feeling for the very first time in his life.
Innessa Laskin was his and he wouldn't take a no for an answer.
The grand corridors of the Volkov estate were steeped in a profound, heavy silence, but inside Victor’s chest, a storm raged, wild, possessive, and entirely unyielding. He moved through the marble halls with long, deliberate strides, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his dark trousers. On the surface, he was still the Pakhan, the ruthless sovereign who had reduced the Moretti syndicate to ash and brought the regional underworld to its knees in a single night. But behind the icy blue resolve of his eyes, his mind belonged entirely to one person.Serena.The mere sound of her name echoing in his head felt like a dark, intoxicating fever. Victor had spent his entire life mastering control. He had trained his heartbeat to remain steady in the face of death, built an empire out of absolute discipline, and viewed emotion as a fatal flaw in a dangerous world. But Serena had shattered every defense he possessed without firing a single bullet. He was smitten, completely, helplessly, an
The golden hour sun bathed the estate’s private courtyard in a deep, honey-colored light, casting long shadows across the cobblestones. The dark storm clouds from the previous nights were long gone, leaving behind a sky of crisp, clear sapphire. In the center of the courtyard sat a wrought-iron table laid out with late-afternoon tea, fresh pastries, and bowls of bright summer berries. For the first time in memory, the oppressive silence of the Volkov estate was broken not by low, tense whispers of syndicate business, but by the sweet sound of clear, unrestrained laughter.Sarah leaned back in her plush chair, a blanket draped over her knees, her cheeks flushed with a healthy, vibrant color. She was laughing so hard at a story Serena was telling that she had to set her teacup down to keep from spilling it."He didn't!" Sarah gasped, her eyes wide as she looked at her sister."I swear he did!" Serena laughed, her ocean-blue eyes sparkling with pure, unadulterated joy. She reached over,
By mid-afternoon, the heavy tension of the council briefing had completely dissipated, replaced by a quiet serenity that the Volkov estate had never seen before. The glass doors of the grand sunroom were pushed wide open, allowing a cool, pine-scented breeze to sweep across the polished marble floors. Outside, the rain-washed grounds glistened beneath the clear blue sky.Sarah sat on a plush, cream-colored sofa, wrapped in a soft cashmere throw. The pale, ghost-like terror that had masked her face in the cellar was finally giving way to faint color in her cheeks. Dr. Vance had changed her bandages earlier, assuring Serena that with proper rest and nutrition, her sister’s physical wounds would heal without a trace.Serena sat beside her, carefully setting a porcelain cup of chamomile tea into Sarah’s hands."Careful, it's hot," Serena whispered gently, her fingers lingering over Sarah's wrapped knuckles.Sarah took a slow sip, letting the steam warm her face. The morning sun filtered through the sheer silk drapes of the master suite, casting long, golden ribbons of light across the plush king-sized bed. The room was an absolute sanctuary, quiet, warm, and vast, a stark contrast to the damp, iron-scented cellar that had bound her nightmares for months.Serena lay tangled in the high-thread-count sheets, the heavy wool blanket pulled over her bare shoulders. Victor was still asleep beside her, his massive arm draped possessively across her waist, pinning her against the solid heat of his chest. His breathing was slow, deep, and steady, the rare, quiet stillness of a Pakhan who had finally eliminated every threat to his empire.Serena rested her palm over his scarred forearm, feeling the rhythmic rise and fall of his ribs beneath her touch. It's over. The words echoed in her mind, sending a quiet, shuddering ripple through her chest.Lorenzo was dead. The Moretti syndicate, the rotten foundation of her entire life, had been reduced to ash ben
The soft moan that tore from Serena’s lips echoed against the wet marble walls of the bath, drowned out only by the quiet hum of the steaming water.Victor didn't slow his touch. Hearing her surrender to him, hearing her voice break softly in the space between them, only inflamed the dark, possessive fire burning in his blood. He deepened his grip, his large, calloused hands kneading the full weight of her breasts, his thumbs rolling rhythmically over her sensitive peaks until she was arching her back against his chest, gasping for air."You like when I touch you like this, Tigritsa?" Victor rasped near her ear, his deep Russian accent heavy with raw, unadulterated desire. His hot breath brushed over her wet neck, sending electric shivers cascading down her spine. "Even after everything... your body still knows who it belongs to.""Victor... please," Serena whimpered, her hands reaching down into the warm water to clasp at his forearms. She couldn't tell if she was begging him to stop
The quiet of the Volkov estate was heavy, almost suffocating, after the violent chaos of the night. In the guest wing of the mansion, Dr. Vance, the Volkov family’s private physician, finished wrapping the clean white bandages around Sarah’s wrists. He worked with quiet, practiced efficiency, applying a soothing salve to the brutal bruises left by the zip-ties and assessing her minor injuries before administering a mild sedative to help her rest.Serena sat on the edge of the plush mattress, never letting go of her sister’s trembling hand. She stroked Sarah’s soft hair, whispering low, reassuring words until the medicine finally took hold. Sarah’s breathing slowed into a deep, peaceful rhythm, her pale face relaxing into sleep for the first time in days.Serena pulled the heavy comforter up to Sarah's chin, lingering for a long moment to ensure she was truly safe, before standing up and quietly stepping out into the hallway.Down in the primary security hub, Victor stood over the slee

A month had passed in gloomy silence. Innessa had gotten back to her dorm. She lay crying on the floor on the first night after Issac coldly told her to leave. She couldn't sleep the whole night and didn't go to the academy the next day.
Innessa shook her head in denial as big fat tears brimmed her eyes. The girl was trembling like a leaf, her chin wobbling. The intensity of fear that coursed through her veins at what she just witnessed had her paralyzed in raw fear. Issac prowled over to her causing her to stumble two steps back
