The thought that elves may be able to use weapons such as earthen made harpoons against dragons in a claim is frightening. Mates would never do that. I know that Yhendorn would never do something that would injure me so terribly. While I expect to be injured in his claim, that is different. A harpoon is a weapon meant to injure and subdue. The ropes that most claimants use are meant to subdue us, yes, but not to injure us. It’s supposed to be a battle of wills and strength, not weapons meant to destroy and punish.

The thought of an elf harpooning a dragon, then claiming them is terrifying. What if they refused to heal their dragon? did ember ever find her mate before she was claimed? now that she's claimed, does that mean she wouldn't know if she were to come face-to-face w her intended mate?
