Cillian
I thought I hear a loud knock on the door. Could just be part of my dream. My arm feels stiff wrapped around Kayleigh. She’s here, right next to me. Nothing else outside this room, not even a frantic knock on the door, is that important to get my out of bed.“Cillian, open this fucking door.” A high pitch voice resonates from the outside of the room.
“Can you be a little quiet? You’ll wake the other guests.” Sounds like Kinsley and Gunner.
I can only assume that they tried to reach me through mind-link, first. But since they couldn’t get a hold of me, they’re here purposely disturbing my rest while I am trying to relish my time with my mate. I don’t always open my mind-link for this reason. I value my peace and privacy too much.
“You think I give a shit? I’m going to camp out here and bang the crap out of this door until your lying best friend comes out of the room.” Kinsley
KayleighHere’s the thing. I don’t need a wolf to smell Kinsley’s bullshit. Her little tirade of making it look like she just caught Cillian and me sneaking behind her back is a big fat joke. She wants me and everyone else in an earshot believe that Cillian is cheating on her. I don’t know what her end game is. But I’m not going to fall into her devious ways. What hurts me is finding out that Cillian hasn’t been forthcoming about the consequences of choosing a wolf-less Luna. I get that he doesn’t want me to worry but it’s an essential factor to consider. Especially given our future plans.“Look, it’s not that I didn’t wanna tell you. I just wanted to have a solution first. I didn’t wanna worry you with something stupid. I mean, I get where my pack elders are coming from, but their reasons for imposing rules for who the pack alpha can choose as a m
CillianRed fucking wolves? Wolves without a pack. Worse than the rouges. While rogues usually don’t have governing laws to maintain an orderly pack, they do have rogue alphas who keep them together. Red wolves on the other hand do not believe in having leaders and following rules. They simply move from one place to another and go around in a ravaging spree everywhere and anywhere as part of their daily fun. Before I get down the stairs, I mind-link the six wolf bloods coming out of their rooms to follow me and Gunner.Tell Kayleigh to call Gio and Gisella. Come downstairs but stay inside the manor. Unless I ask you to, do not come outside. Please keep Kayleigh safe. She can fight but the red wolves are rabid. Be alert. Be ready.Copy that.Got it.Will do.The wolf bloods in this wing are the youngest
Cillian “Fucking red wolves! Do you know how this is going to make us look? Fucking embarrassment!” My dad gets up from sitting down and paces in front of me. “None of the red wolves that attacked us made it out of the territory alive. So how is that an embarrassment? I think it shows that our pack can hold its own ground.” I’m seething with irritation. “An attack, big or small, whether the attackers survived it or not, shows that there is a strand of weakness in our pack’s system. The fact that they think our pack is an easy target just shows how little they think of us. You’re not the one who’s going to get the brunt of humiliation. I can’t just go tell the neighboring packs that it’s my son’s negligence that allowed this disastrous bout to happen. They’d immediately think I’m not a capable alpha.” Veins from his neck bulge as he yells at me. “Oh, so this what it’s all about? It’s not about worrying that pack members would be in the line of danger. It’s your reputation tha
CillianI leave my dad’s office and plan to high tail it home without having to deal with my sister and Kinsley.“That was fast. I thought you’d be hollered at for at least an hour before the alpha mauls you.” Gunner’s eyebrows crease not believing that I made it out alive.“Yeap. Same. Let’s go.”“Is that Kinsley… and Rey-Rey?” He turns the ignition on.“I said, let’s go. Right now.” Shit. How did they get here that fast?“Hey, wait up, Cillian!” Reagan and Kinsley jumped at the back of the SUV before Gunner could press on the gas. Guess I’m not very lucky today.“Listen, ladies. We have some stuff to do today. I don’t have time to monkey around with the two of you.”“Hello, to you, too, big brot
Chapter 47:AndreiIt’s been too long since I’ve seen Kayleigh. I stopped counting after the first week. I had to get my head together and focus on my family issues. The only way to do that was to make sure my mind was were my body was. At home, in Russia. Not here in Missouri where Kayleigh is.“What the fuck took you so long? Thought you said you were just going to be gone for a week. It’s more than two weeks not, isn’t?” Cold and baritone voice cuts inside my thoughts.“Damn. Good to see you, too, Bash. It’s too early in the morning to be seeping in a bad mood, man. What got your panties in knots?” I ping back at the owner of the voice, and this house.“Fucking right it’s too early in the morning. Yet, here you are making an unannounced and unwelcomed house call. It’s fucking 4AM, asshole. What’s so important that you have to g
KayleighThe first time I saw Cillian will forever be embedded in my heart and soul. It was the first time I felt something magical and the first time I experienced heart break altogether.I had just turned 9 years old. It was the first time I cared about what I wore at one of the wolf blood events.I stared at him, unabashedly, unapologetically, and fascinated by his oddity. He wasn’t from Ireland. He was from one of the wolf packs that came to attend my family’s yearly private debutante ball or what we call, “Debs.” A special ball for those who were coming of age.In the ancient times, the “Debs” was for parading she-wolves who were ready to be married off. Back in the days, “Debs” was like the rich wolf bloods’ excuse for a social gathering where there was a public crier yelling, “Hear ‘ye, hear ‘ye! Here ar
Kayleigh“Malyshka… Hey, come here.” Andrei opens the door to the car almost as soon as he stops the car right in front of me. He called this morning and wanted to pick me up but I insisted on finishing the summit activity for the day before we could meet. Unlike him, this is my first year attending the summit. It’s his third, so I guess he can take liberties and take off for family or personal emergencies whenever he needs to.Cillian is still either in a meeting with his dad or already at the border for patrolling. Either way, there was no way of letting him know that I was meeting Andrei today. He’s been busy since yesterday, sorting things out in regards with the red wolves. I didn’t wanna add up to his list of worries. To say that Andrei is good looking is an understatement. He is incredibly gorgeous. His arms are wide open, inviting me for an embrace. Inviting me for a sin.
Kayleigh “Andrei, this is the hardest thing I’d ever have to do. But I don’t want to keep stringing you. I’m so sorry. Yes, I’m with someone else." “Why? How?” Pain mars his handsome face. It’s taking every bit of myself not to coil my arms around him. “I don’t know. It sort of just happened. You’re not asking who? That means you know who it is.” I’m relieved that I don’t have to mention Cillian’s name knowing that it would hurt more that I’ve chosen his childhood nemesis over him. “It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who took you from me.” Rubbing his jaw, he doesn’t take his eyes off me. “I’m sorry, Andrei.” “I was gone for a little over two weeks. We’ve been apart longer in the past --- months, even. But you’ve never looked at other men. Cillian must be really special.” “I don’t know what to say or how to respond with that.” “I feel betrayed, malyshka. By the person I care the most a
