Hey my wolfie loveys! There's two chapters today! Happy reading. Lovelots, KT Valentine
Cillian Kayleigh stares at Diesel and runs her hand over his arm to inspect the bruises marring his skin. She cradles his hand facing up, her thumbnail pressing in the middle of his wrist pulse point. In a swift move, she brings her clenched hand to her mouth before letting her fangs pierce into her skin without showing the little ones that she can partially transform. At the same time, her thumbnail extends into a claw, cutting a shallow wound on Diesel’s wrist. Again, without showing the kids. In the eyes of the Red Wolf pups, Kayleigh just bit herself with her human canines. Except for Uncle James who hasn’t been updated about our recent capabilities, the adults in the room know that Kayleigh and I can now partially transform and control which body part to shift. Just like the Hybrids and Demon Wolves. Kayleigh immediately puts her wrist over Diesel’s, letting her blood drip over his punctured skin. Everyone watches in awe, mouth gaping, eyes gawking, and
Cillian Fucking Roland escaped. Or—I should say, thanks Goddess, he finally escaped. Gunner and I knew that there are still a few pack members who are loyal to Roland. The only way to identify them is to give them the notion that our security team is weak in hopes that they’d make their move to break him out of his cell. Our plan worked. They might have thought that we didn’t see this coming. But we not only saw it, we anticipated and hoped it would happen. A dozen of my best patrol wolves are tracking the former beta now. Following his every movement. They are instructed to remain undercover until Roland leads them to the one person who also needs to take responsibility of the wolf-war: my Dad. It’s only going to be a matter of time. It’s hard to believe that the man whose life is hanging on a thin line was once a parental figure to all the Wolf Bloods in our pack. Gunner, Kinsley, Reagan, and I
The Past: One Year Ago Kayleigh, Age Sixteen Wolf Blood Debutante Ball, Ireland My entire existence relied on this night. The late August moon was full and bright. My family and more than a dozen wolf packs from every part of the world were here to celebrate this year’s debutantes. My dress was exquisite… long, royal blue silk, and custom Italian couture. I wore my long red hair down. I came ready. Everyone was here at the “Debs” ball to enjoy the food, the music, and to celebrate our wolf blood ties. At midnight, those with wolves would go for the pack run in the woods behind our mansion. Then the moment I have been waiting for will happen. I was finally going to get my first kiss. While my friends and cousins asked The Seer about when their wolves would emerge, or when they’d meet their fated mates, or which career path they should take, I simply asked for one thing: When will I have my first kiss? The Seer said that tonight was the night.
The PresentKayleigh, Age SeventeenFort Woods, Missouri “What are you doing here, Kill? “You know what I’m here for…” A low, possessive growl comes from him. And it makes the center of my womanhood quiver. “You should go…” I whisper, staring at his glowing wolf eyes. They’re melting my insides and making me feel like I want him to mark me. “Why? Why are you fighting this? You know we’re meant to be.” He’s too close. His scent is doing things to my body that I can’t describe. “I don’t know…This doesn’t feel real…This is not real…” I close my eyes. I’m plagued with emotions that I am having a hard time reining in. He presses his forehead to mine. “You’re mine, baby girl.” He brushes my lips with his. “You’re just saying that.” My heart leaps with the things that comes out of his sweet mouth. “Let me show you then…” He winds his arms around me. “What are you doing?” I hate how my body reacts to his. I’m putty to his words and touches. “This…” He crashes his lips agai
Kayleigh Wiping the steam off the bathroom mirror makes me wish I can just wipe off the memory of today’s “welcoming scene” at the driveway. The only good thing about it was seeing Andrei. Knowing that he will be here the whole summit gives me something to look forward to, at least. I can’t say the same about the rest, namely Cillian and Kinsley. I look at my reflection and stare at my glassy blue eyes then move to my skin and the cluster of red on my head. I’ve never felt insecure about my pale skin until I saw Kinsley’s olive skin that gives her a natural glow. Everything about her seems to glow, even her black hair. I run my fingers down my long red hair. I was told that only two percent of the world’s population carry the gene that makes hair red. I wonder how many of the werewolf population carry the gene that makes their wolves come late. I keep telling myself that my wolf is just a late bloomer and not non-existent. It makes me feel better… and hopeful. The kiss with Cill
Cillian “Fuck! Why do these people drive slow!” I honk my horn several times as I drive around two cars. I’m sure they were just following the speed limit, but I don’t have that time to waste. “Geez, careful! I’m sure we can always catch up with the pack if they start without us.” One more comment from Kinsley and I might just leave her on the side of the road. My wolf is as pissed off as I am. He’s been stirring inside me since we left the manor and just let Kayleigh walk out on us. Fuck, I’m feeling a little on edge, too. But what can I do? As the Alpha heir, pack duties come first. I left with Kinsley and some of our trusted pack members before the bonfire even started. Kinsley is tangled with some neighboring pack issues and we had to go help her straighten things out. Now, I need to hurry up and get back home. Any longer than I have to be in this SUV my wolf will take over and shift, and I won’t be able to control him. The kiss with Kayleigh—our kiss—is all I can think ab
Cillian I jog to the bonfire and let my gaze wander to keep track of everyone here. I smell Kayleigh’s scent even before I spot her. I make a beeline to where she’s at—nodding my head to the people I pass, avoiding small talk so I can get to Kayleigh’s side sooner. Young men and women try to make conversation with me as soon as they see me, but my focus is only set on one person. Long and wavy red hair, porcelain skin, hour-glass-shaped body, face of an angel, voice of a siren, and the mind of a she-devil. She’s neither tall nor short at 5’5” but she has nice legs, which reminds me she did not fucking change her clothes and is now showing too much skin. I mean, she’s gonna get cold pretty soon. She doesn’t have a wolf yet, so she has no means to warm herself. Heaven forbid she catch a cold and the head of Fola Rioga Pack, her dad, might think that we’re not taking care of his princess. My mood sours when I also smell the scent of my rival. Fucking Andrei is standing behi
Chapter 5: The Gypsy Wolf Kayleigh The weekend went by fast. Maybe because I spent most of it locked inside my room, catching up with sleep and video-calling my family back in Ireland. Cillian knocked on my door on Saturday but I literally begged him to leave me alone so I could sleep the weekend away. He walked out, reluctantly, and I haven’t seen him since. Andrei also called and tried to convince me to go out with him so he can show me around, but I asked for a rain check. Told him maybe we could do it next weekend. I was a little nervous about today, the first day of Wolf Blood Summit. Other than several girls I met at the dining hall, I haven’t really made any friends. This morning we attended a briefing about our schedule. Basically, from Mondays to Thursdays, we’re supposed to be at the pack’s ranch for the summit activities. We can either ride the shuttles, arrange our own car service, or car pool with those who drove their vehicles here. The ranch is huge, with state-of-t
