Sage’s POV

The words of my brother made me relax a bit. I knew that he would always be there for me no matter what. I knew that he was always going to be in my corner. “Thank you.” I was pulled in for a hug, and I gladly returned it.

“The Alpha King is coming soon; there is one more day, and he will be here. Focus on that and let me worry about Cassie and whoever is digging around, okay?” He said to me when he broke the hug. His eyes were full of love, and I could not help but smile.

  • The Alpha King's Broken Mate   A Gift

Cassie’s POVI sat on the bed; I did not know what to do. I knew that other girls were excited about the selection ceremony. I knew that they were buying the best clothes to wear and making sure that they would look their best. But as for me, I did not care. I already knew that I was not going to be chosen. I already knew that the glorious Alpha King was not going to look my way. First of all, I was not pretty enough. And there was no way that I would be picked over Sage, or any of the girls in this pack. I had no wolf anymore. I was branded as a traitor that everyone wanted to suffer. And to add, I did not even want to be chosen. I knew that I would be forced to attend; that was the main reason Leon had finally gotten me out of his prison. So I knew that I could not escape going there. But as I said, I did not want to be chosen. I just wanted it to be over with, so I would be able to leave this god-forsaken pack and town. I was tired of being looked at as trash; as someone who de

Focus on that and let me worry about Cassie and whoever is digging around, okay?” He said to me when he broke the hug. His eyes were full of love, and I could not help but smile. I was so glad that I had him. Some days, the thought of never finding out that I was royalty would strike me, and I would immediately feel like puking. The very thought scared me. It was not fair to me that I had been switched at birth. I should have been treated like this from the very moment I was born. But instead, an omega family was the one who had taken me to their home. They had been the ones who tried to take care of me. I mean, they tried, but there was something in me that always reminded me

I nodded, anxiety filling my heart. I really did not tell anyone; I wished they knew that. But they obviously had gotten information from elsewhere that suggested differently. The only person that I could think of that would maybe be digging around would be Nathaniel. I had not told him about me taking the fall for Sage, but he had been trying hard to get to know me. What if he was the one who was digging around and trying to find out the truth about what had really happened? If that was true, then that meant that I had to warn him; to tell him to stop or he could get us in some big trouble. He was putting his hands in business that could get him harmed, if not killed. And gosh, I did not want anything happening to him. I was starting to kind of enjoy his presence. “I didn’t tell anyone,” I assured them before looking away and eating the last of my food off the plate. I had eaten everything. I was full, and my stomach felt better, but my mind was racing. “Good,” Leon replied. “Ke

  • The Alpha King's Broken Mate   My Own Room

Cassie’s POVI walked past the guards, and they all stared at me as if I was a homeless man who they had allowed to walk in. I could feel their disgust even though I was trying so hard to ignore them.I made my way towards the front door and proceeded to open it. Once inside, I could smell food, causing my stomach to growl lowly. I was so hungry, but I dared not go to the kitchen or ask anyone. So I just simply walked down the hallway, heading towards the guest room that was now mine. But when I reached there and tried to open it, it was locked. I tried again and again, but it was just the same. I really did not want to have to go and ask Leon about it, not after last night. So I decided that I was just going to go to my old room, the one that now looked like a storage room. I would rather lie on the floor than be out here. Plus, I needed a shower, too. So I walked there. I tried the door, silently praying that it would be unlocked, and it was! Sighing in relief, I turned the doork

  • The Alpha King's Broken Mate   The Meeting

Nate’s POVI stood to my feet and I was so proud of my beta for what he had done. “Gosh, Zane. How did you get this done?” “Yoou don’t have to worry about that, sir,” He replied, flashing a small smile. “Do you want me to take the girl back to the Pack House? Or…?” “No, I will,” I replied. He nodded in respect and left. I yawned, a bit still groggy from the night. I did not have the best night of sleep, but I was okay with that. As long as I was able to spend time with Cassie last night, and would be able to learn more about her at the council of this pack, I’d call it a win. I made my way to the bathroom and took a quick shower after brushing my teeth. Then I got ready, throwing on something random. Something that will make me look important or have people look twice my way. My persona was that I was a warrior of the pack. That meant that I was paid well, but not well enough. After it all, I walked over to the bedroom and knocked on it gently. I did not want to wake her up if sh

  • The Alpha King's Broken Mate   A Place To Stay

I waited, praying that Nathaniel was not going to judge me. I waited, hoping that he was not going to change his mind about me. I finally had someone in my corner now, someone who believed in me. As much as I was already used to rejection and bad things happening to me at this point, a part of me wanted him to stay by my side. Plus, I did not want to be left out here tonight. I had seen just how this pack hated me by just being out here for a few hours after Leon had kicked me out for the night. I still could not believe that he had done that. It was like the brother that I once knew and loved, and that knew and loved me, was now dead and gone. The Leon that I knew now was a stranger. Nathaniel was now looking straight at me. “Do you have somewhere to spend the night?” He asked, proceeding to stand on his feet. “There is no way that I am going to let you stay out here tonight. It’s cold as hell, and you’re not safe out here alone.” “Are you sure?” I asked him as I stood up, but I
