Aiden sat on his bed with a gloomy face, staring into thin air and trying as much as possible not to let himself think about the misery that had befallen him about a year ago.

It had been a spell that had made him lose control, but he found out the truth when it was too late because Kiara had been banished from the pack already. A knock was rasped on the door, but he didn't rise on his feet. A little afterward, the door opened, and Cass walked into the chambers.

"Aiden, we found a doctor, but there's a condition." Cass had to spill the beans out as soon as he walked in,

Aiden arched his brows, and then questioned, "What is it?"

"You'll need to sign a contract," As Cass spoke, he tucked his hand into his pocket and brought out an envelope. "What's that?"

"A contract. The doctor in question needs you to sign a contract first of all, and she has requested that you cancel her stay in the palace, giving her the free will to live anywhere around the pack so long as the contract still binds you two."

Aiden scoffed aloud, wondering what all the rules were for. Was the lady or whoever was going to be assigned to his pack that rude? She was meant to stay in the palace because she had to keep a close eye on him and members of his pack as well. Where else was she supposed to stay?

"I disagree! Send the fucking contract back and tell them I need a change of doctor. Someone ready to follow my instructions, and until then, don't bring another news to me."

Cass didn't budge but kept staring at me. "Didn't you hear me?"

"We can't. She's the one you need Aiden, and no one else. I've heard stories, and everything I heard concerning Doctor Karla seems to be progress. I believe she's what you need to get back on your feet."

"She can't be out of this palace. If she is, then everyone out there would know they have a sick alpha. A sick king who's out of shape and needs the help of a fucking doctor to be able to get back on his feet. Do you think I liked using the scheme of my people as an excuse to get myself a doctor?"

Aiden heaved deeply, as a look of frustration was so evident on his face.

"These fucking dreams, I have to get rid of them. Any damn where I go, I can't stop seeing Kiara, and I keep telling myself that I was a fool for letting her go and for betraying her."

"It wasn't your fault Aiden, you had a spell cast on you, don't be too hard on yourself," Cass responded, taping Aiden's shoulder gently. "We have to take this opportunity, Aiden. If this is gonna work out well, then let's do it. It's all for the sake of helping you, and once you're done, you won't have to ever see her face again."

Aiden turned around. He had his mind filled with so many thoughts that he had to get rid of. After Scarlett had cheated on him with one of the betas in the pack, Aiden also found out that she had a spell. cast on him, which was why he couldn't recognize Kiara as his mate 5 years ago….. The most painful part of his discovery was the fact that Kiara never slept with anyone. She was telling the truth, but he couldn't see that and from what he got to learn about a year ago, Kiara had died already….. She died with the baby.

He placed his hand on his forehead, and answered,

"Alright, but we'll make out our own rules too."

"What are they?"

Aiden let out a smirk from the left corner of his lips, one Cass knew was definitely not a good one. If Aiden wanted to be fucking mischievous and petty, then he knew how to do that in the best way ever.

"Are you freaking crazy? How could you have agreed to the contract? Do you have any idea what trouble this might cause you?" Lisa yelled at Kiara, but her mean words weren't going to make Kiara have a change of mind.

Kiara turned to spare her a glance, dropping the glass of orange juice on the table.

"In case you've forgotten, Lisa, I'm no longer that Kiara anymore, and I would never let them trample on me like they did in the past. This time around, it's him who needs my help and not the other way around."

"So? You made it clear five years ago that you would never go back there. What if he finds out about the Triplets? How the hell are you gonna explain them to him?"

Kiara scoffed aloud, "He believes I cheated on him five years ago, and my kids are the results of that affair. No matter what anyone says or thinks, my kids are mine, and mine alone. I would never let Aiden get in their way. I made plans, and I'm not planning on staying at the palace with him. I made it clear to him that I'll have my freedom to move around however I want, and live wherever I want."

The look on Lisa's face made Kiara realize that she was yet to understand,

"I'm not doing this for Aiden, Lisa. I'm doing this for all the innocent people out there who need my help. No matter what, that's my home, and I can't keep running away from it. As long as the contract is binding, Aiden would never be able to hurt me or my kids.."

Lisa still didn't have a smile on her face,

"At the end of all this, I promise I'll open my clinic just like you've always wanted. At least with the huge amount this deal holds, I'll be able to do even more than that."

It was immediately after Kiara said this that Lisa spared her a glance,

"Alright, but there's one condition."

"What is it?" Kiara questioned.

"I'm gonna come with you, and if that mother fucker tries to lay even a finger on your hair, then I swear I'm gonna pick up a knife and stab his heart."

Kiara chuckled. She had such a strong friend, and for that, she could never be more grateful. She spread her arms apart, and chuckled again, "Come here, darling."

Lisa walked towards her and got into Kiara's warm embrace. They had met each other in medical school, and luckily, Lisa found Kiara very special, and immediately got closer to her even though Kiara didn't want to have anything to do with anybody. When she found out about Kiara's past, she stood by her friend, encouraging her through her hard times, especially when Kiara would have memories about Aiden.

No one knew….

No one knew what Kiara had to go through in the past just to be wherever she was except Lisa.

"I love you so much Li, you're the best."

"I love you too girl…. You're everything." Lisa responded, but the hug was broken when Kiara heard her phone ringing. As she picked it up and stared at the screen, she whispered to Lisa, "It's Mr Daniel."

When Lisa nodded, Kiara immediately answered the call.

"Doctor Karla, please come to my office right away."

A FEW WEEKS LATER} {CHICAGO 5:40 PM} “I sincerely never stopped loving you Taylor, I never stopped remembering everything we shared, not until you changed. And I'm grateful for everything.” Blake uttered as stood straight up while his gaze was still fixed on the ocean. “l know you still loved me but I'm sorry I couldn't give you that same love and affection you always had when we were still together. Things just had to change and I also had to move on. I learned that we all need to give love a second chance and to my greatest shock, I did, and it worked out fine. I'll be okay and I hope you will as well be wherever you are now. Thank you so much for your sacrifice, Taylor.” He declared softly as he inhaled a deep breath and threw the bouquet he had in his hand straight to the sea. “Farewell Taylor.” He whispered as he shut his eyes deeply while a tear rolled down from his eyes. “Hey “ Lisa whispered as she walked up to Blake and cuddled him from behind. “I'm sure she's glad t

Kiara packed her hair in the form of a ponytail and applied a little makeup before she stood before the mirror. She had already made sure the house was peaceful and the kids had gone to school. “Hey,” Lisa called out as she leaned on the wall close to the front door. “Good morning.” “Good morning Lisa.” Kiara greeted and she took one more glare at her reflection before grabbing her keys. “Are you set to go now, because it was like you were taking ages you know?” Lisa teased and it made Kiara chuckle a bit. “Yeah, let's leave now.” Kiara responded. That said, they both walked outside immediately. As soon as they got to Kiara's car, Lisa opened the door and climbed into the front seat, next to the driver's seat and so did Kiara. Without hesitation, she turned on the engine and began to drive straight to the hospital. Kiara applied the brakes as soon as she got to the hospital grounds. As she climbed out of the car and shut the door behind, she began to walk inside immediately while

“Can I get my receipt?.” Lisa questioned as she tried to carry her shopping bags but she couldn't because they were too many. She had purchased so many items for the house upkeep and for the kids as well. “Do you need a hand with that?” Lisa hears a voice speak to her from behind. Oh I think I'm fine, you don't need to..” Lisa's jaw dropped the moment she turned to face him. “With the look of things here, I think you need a second hand and I do have one to spare.” As he spoke, Lisa's gaze had almost pulled off his T-shirt. “Oh yeah, I think I really need that spare hand for myself.” She whispered softly. “Excuse me?” . His voice jolted her to reality once again. “Oh I'm so sorry, I guess I could use a hand please.” Lisa responded while her warm smile smudged on her lips. “I'm Daniel.” Lisa heard the voice once again as he helped her carry most of the bags, leaving her with just one.” “Oh you really don't have to..” “Let's just go.” Daniel cut her as he began to walk out of the

“Alright, goodnight Miguel,” Caroline uttered as she tried to end the call and continue her dinner but she heard Miguel's voice again. “Don't forget our appointment this weekend.”Frustrated, Caroline placed her right hand on her forehead and rested on it. “Yeah, I won't, bye.” That said, she ended the call immediately not wanting to know if Miguel still had something to say. “Such a talkative person.” Caroline heaved as she returned to her meal.As she ate, heard the sound of the front door opening. As soon as she darted her gaze to the door, she spotted Cass and without hesitation, she returned her attention to her meal. Cass stood still as he watched Caroline eat and pretended like she had never seen him walk inside. The moment Caroline noticed he kept staring at her, she felt uncomfortable. She hastily rose to her feet and as she turned to leave, she felt a grip on her hands. Cass pulled her to him and gasped her hands tightly. “Hey, why are you acting weird all of a sudden?” He

“Hey, Miguel.” Caroline uttered weakly as she placed her cell phone on her ear.”“Hey bestie, what's wrong, you don't sound okay at all.” Miguel's voice rang out from the other line. “Nothing's wrong, I'm just kind of stressed out,” Caroline responded while she rubbed her eyes gently. “Let's meet today Carol, it's been a while since we spent some quality time together.” Miguel declared. Caroline sighed deeply as she averted her gaze up to the wall clock. “ By what time?” She questioned as she brushed her hair backwards and she climbed out of the bed weakly.“In two hours,” Miguel replied and ended the call before Caroline could utter any more words. Caroline heaved deeply and then began to walk straight to the restroom. As she sat on the toilet seat, what happened between her and Cass replayed on her head. Although she had always longed for him for so long now, but not that way. Cass had taken it very hard on her and she felt like a fool because as they had sex, Cass never mentioned

Caroline applied the brakes and rushed out of the car immediately. The moment she got to the back seat, she opened the door quickly and helped Cass climb outside. “I warned you not to drink too much Cass.” She uttered as she struggled to assist him but Cass pushed her to the floor immediately while he began to walk inside. “Argh.” Caroline groaned in pain as she struggled to get back on her feet to assist him. The moment Cass reached the front doorstep, he collapsed on the floor instantly. “Why do you prefer hurting this much, Kiara?” Cass whispered and shut his eyes immediately. A deep frown appeared on Caroline's lips as she heard Cass's voice. “You're also hurting me as well Cass, please can't you just love me back? I'm f*cking fricking out right now because I'm just so sad and confused. I love you so much Cass so please stop avoiding me, it hurts so much.” She whispered as her voice began to break slowly. As she bent down to Cass's level, she touched his soft brown hair and dre
