Chapter 73: Max's Loyalty
~Max~
“Max, are you sure?” Lana asked again, trying to assess his resolution. “I am very angry at Geneva right now, and while I feel I have every reason to bite off her head -”
“I need this. I need to be the one to do this. Not Alric, not you, and not anyone else,” Max interrupted Lana. He peered in the direction of Geneva, who was frantically pushing away the warriors that held her arms.
He sucked in a breath and explained, “At her very last breath, Geneva needs to realize her mistakes. She needs to know the severity of her sins, so much that the very person whom she expected to stand by her would be the same to cut off her head."
With another sigh, he added, “Would I regret it? I might hate myself for some time, but my loyalty remains with Alric. He is my Alpha. In a heartbeat, I will always choose Alric over Geneva. And now that you are his Luna, I will choose you over her on any given day."
