Destiny’s POV

I told Rose everything that happened last night. I told her how I followed every direction she told me to take on the map. I told her about the bite effect happening right at that moment.

Her eyes went round when I got to that part, cursing at her brother.

And when I reached the part of the snake showing up and tearing up, she was looking at me in wonder.

“Wow.” She seemed to be at a loss for words. “I heard that getting in contact with it was so rare that it’s been centuries since one was sighted. And that it came to you only if it deemed you worthy or you’ve performed some rites.”

I leaned back against her pink couch, looking confused. “But I didn’t do anything.”

She was staring at me with interest, intrigue passing in her eyes. “Or maybe, it just deemed you worthy.”

“Worthy of what?”
