***Aries

I stretched my arms and looked at the clock - 6:05am.

Another morning. But today was the eve of our birthday, April 8th. My stomach sunk, tied into uncomfortable knots. Other than the introduction of my wolf, this birthday was no different than the rest. But a queasy sensation took over… like I’d soon find out.

I made my way down the main stairs to the warm aroma of coffee, already brewed. Mother sat with her mug, perched in front of the ceiling high windows which overlooked the wilder

***Aries“Red!” I screamed in my head. I didn’t know if it was night yet. There was no sense of time in here, void of any windows. Warm rumblings fluttered in my stomach. I felt her stretching; a lazy cat waking from an afternoon nap, oblivious to the chaos around her.“Oh me? I thought you’d never ask,” she kidded. How was she making light of the situation? I was just kidnapped in broad daylight and now we were stuck in Goddess knows where. And with these men… the very species I had been working to avoid.“Well… you didn’t work that hard to avoid all of them,” a sly tease purred from her lips. A reminder of Damien flashed in my head, and I quickly shook to wipe him from my memory. “Please, you’re so dramatic. You know who’s behind this?”I blinked, shaking my head, clueless. She scoffed, “Who else wants you out of the way… to the point where they’ll pay to get the job done? To have men kill you.” Giselle. My face crouched in doubt. Then tightened in fury. What’s done is done, she ha

***AriesMy hands were tied behind me; my feet bound at the ankles. I felt the cold steel floor of their van under me. I shivered as my wet clothing clung like a second skin. The vehicle drove for a length of time, turning now and then. I would slide and jolt without being able to brace myself for the sudden movements. At one point, I let out a groan as an object hit me square on the bridge of my nose. They didn’t speak. They didn’t communicate amongst themselves, only driving in silence. Every minute that passed caused my chest to clamp, collapsing and folding into itself. The cloth covering my head was damp with my tears. The bristly fabric drew against my mouth with each breath, and I could feel the panic seizing my insides. The anxiety wrapped its familiar tentacles around me.I needed air… I needed out of this van. Fuck whatever they were about to do to me. The panic attack alone was going to kill me before they got their chance. That’s when I started screaming.“Let me out! Get

***AriesI threw on some leggings and an oversized hoodie over my tank top. I crossed my duffel bag across my shoulder and chest as I prepared to leave. It was only a 20-minute walk to the gym where my Tuesday sparring lessons were held each week.Secretly, I enjoyed them, but I didn’t tell my father that. Though I got my ass kicked each time, it was fun learning new moves and fighting against more experienced students. And I was getting better. It was an all-girls league so there was no worry of any guys getting too close to me. Coed training would start in the summer. That’s when the real fun would begin. The men didn’t take it easy on us and personally, I didn’t want them to. If I was going to truly learn how to defend myself, I needed no restrictions. I hated that people saw me as soft, fragile… but it was my own doing. And in the gym, I could change that.Houses on each side of the street looked alike, mirror images of each other, only alternating in color. Green manicured lawns

***AriesI refused to go to school. I couldn’t imagine dealing with any more of the opposite sex. Men. Boys. Ugh.And I absolutely couldn’t face Damien. Couldn't deal with the questions... the looks. Who knew what he was telling his friends by now… telling Giselle. Yes, I ran. I chose to avoid the problem.I even made sure not to see any of father’s warriors either. Many of them were unmated and I didn’t need a new problem so close to our doorstep. I needed to figure out how to get rid of Red’s present. This was anything but a gift so far.“Mom, I’m fine. I’m just a little under the weather. I can do most of my assignments from home. I just need to stay in bed, ok?” I said, forcing out a few coughs. The Luna sighed and touched my forehead with the back of her hand.“You do feel a little warm,” mother said. Maybe the rain had set on a little fever. Guilt trickled into my chest. Memories of last night remained. The heat filming the windows of Damien’s truck. The warmth that poured insid

***AriesThe giant wolf’s canines protruded as he sneered intently. I froze, mid-step.Slow, calculated footsteps proceeded towards me. My heartbeat quickened just as the hyperventilating started. Were there rogues out here? Daddy would have surely told me. But he also warned me days ago to stay with the pack. To not go out by myself. This was twice now that I had done the exact opposite.“Please, don’t hurt me,” I begged, my voice soft, shrunken. Just like my real self. Nothing to be noticed. Nothing to garner attention. He circled around me, nudging against my legs as he sniffed me.Oh Goddess. Sex. He’s going to smell it on me, I thought.I looked up into the sky, watching the clouds unleash their ribbons of raindrops from the heavens. The wolf rose on his hindlegs. The words choked as I gasped at the sight of him. His enormous stature blocked out the moonlight as he towered over me, eclipsing me with his shadow. His head lowered as his eyes dug angrily into me. His nose nuzzled in

***Aries“Get off of me!” I screamed. The smile on his face faultered, shifting from a playful smirk to down right confusion. Physical pain blistered throughout my body. Fury boiled through my cheeks, red hot, and I could feel the dam... the waterworks, ready to break, as my hands shook.I had to get out of here. Couldn’t let him see me cry.“What the… what did I do? What did I say?” he said, dumbfounded, brows lowered in honest concern. I didn’t speak, could already feel the tremble in my bottom lip. His hand reached for mine but I yanked my wrist away, finding my jeans and hoodie at the bottom of his floor. I pulled the jeans up over my hips and rushed to button them up. My panties were nowhere to be found but I didn’t care right now.In an instant, the door flew open and I threw myself into the rain. I could hear his shouts in the distance, but I ran and ran until his truck was far in the distance.Running away like I always did, he had said in the warehouse. The storm drenched my
