NINA.

My eyelids stuck together when I tried to open them. My mouth was dry, like I’d swallowed dust. When I finally sat up, the blanket slid off my shoulders, and I realized fast this wasn’t my room.

The walls were different. The scent was different. The shirt I was wearing wasn’t mine. That’s when my stomach sank. Derek’s shirt. His bed.

“Fuck,” I whispered under my breath. My voice sounded hoarse and scratchy, I felt a heavy migraine in my head.

My head pounded in slow, heavy beats. I reached up to rub my temple and stared at the half-open door. The sound of something sizzling came from outside — a pan, probably. I dragged myself up, bare feet hitting the cool floor, and scanned the room for my clothes. My jeans were gone. My jacket too. My phone sat on the nightstand, plugged in.
