Valor led me out of our bedroom. Oh crap, I'm saying "our" now. My wolf loved the close contact since we hadn’t experienced it much yet. There really was no feeling like when your mate holds or touches you. I loved it but tried not to show it on my face; I didn’t want Valor to see the effect he had on me, even though I could clearly see the effect I had on him. My wolf chuckled in my head and said, "You'll fall for him sooner or later, and I'm guessing sooner."

I groaned in frustration. My wolf would not stop taunting me. Before I knew it, there were people standing in front of me with massive grins on their faces. I turned to Valor, who scratched the back of his neck sheepishly. I turned back to the people and smiled. One man stepped forward, "Hi, I am Valor's third in command. My name is Nate, and this is my mate Phoebe." Nate pointed to a little brunette who squealed and gave me a massive hug.

"It's so nice to finally have another girl here! I've heard there are two new girls. Finally, someone to gossip with and go shopping with!" I smiled at her. Phoebe seemed so nice, and so did Nate. An older woman appeared next and gave me a massive hug.

"I am so happy that my nephew has finally found his mate after so long. You are so gorgeous! Valor, you are so lucky. I am Valor's aunt, you can call me Lilly."

"It's so nice to meet you, Lilly," I said with a smile. I glanced over at Valor, who had a massive smile on his face, and rolled my eyes at him. The last people came forward, but they were not who I expected. A little girl, around seven years old, came forward and looked up at me with the same magnificent blue eyes that Valor had. I bent down to her level, and she said, "Hi, my name is Cassidy, but I like being called Cassie. You are Valor's mate, which means you have to look after my big bro and make sure he always has time for me—and you have to as well."

I looked at Cassie with a massive and genuine smile. She was such a sweetheart and my mate's little sister. I had no idea that Valor even had a sister. I knew he had lost his parents to rogues not long ago, but I always thought he was an only child. It was nice knowing that Valor wasn’t alone, like I had thought.

Cassie ran to Valor, who picked her up effortlessly and smiled down at her. It was a sight that made me feel happy and warm inside. What the hell? My wolf loved the sight as well, but I didn't understand why it made me feel this way. Shaking off the feeling, I walked with Cassie and Valor around the rest of the pack.

It was nice meeting everyone and being introduced. So far, everyone was making me feel welcome. Cassie went to play with her friends after the tour, and Valor and I went back upstairs. I was shown where his study was because, according to Valor, I would probably go in there quite a lot.

I needed to ask Valor something, but before I could, he let out a low growl. My wolf sensed his wolf was angry and on edge. She told me to calm him down, but I had no idea how to. Instead of explaining, she made me move towards Valor and forced my hands onto his shoulders. I saw his tense muscles slowly start to relax. He buried his face in the crook of my neck. It felt right when Valor did it, and I felt like I could stay there forever. Valor wrapped his hands around my waist, and sparks flew through my body, making me shiver.

I had no idea what was happening to me. I loved the feeling when Valor touched me. When he let go, I felt cold and lonely. He looked at me and said, "Stay in our room and lock it. Stay safe, Lenora. Please."

I nodded at him and walked towards our room. I wondered what was happening, but Valor's eyes were pleading with me to follow his words, so I did. I saw him run outside, and I locked myself in our room. However, my wolf and I were restless. I couldn’t sit still for some reason, and I felt scared. A knock on the door made me hold my breath.

Was Valor okay? Was he alive? Questions rushed through my mind, all about Valor. I opened the door to see Lilly looking anxious.

"I'm sorry to disturb you, but I can't find Cassie anywhere. Can you please help me?"

I nodded and rushed out with her. We headed out and started calling, "Cassie!" But there was no response, which made me scared and worried.

I had no idea where I was going, but my main priority was finding Cassie. I was walking and found a building I had never seen before. Curiosity got the best of me, and I started walking towards it. I heard shouting coming from inside, and my wolf suddenly became on edge.

Thinking it was Cassie, I rushed to the window, but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw...

Two weeks had passed since the accident, and Valor was finally back on his feet. Watching him walk around like his old self again felt like a weight lifted off my chest. He was strong, not just in body but in spirit. Still, I couldn’t help but hover around him, making sure he didn’t overdo it.“Lenora, I’m fine,” he said, catching me watching him as he carried a stack of plates to the kitchen.“I know,” I said, crossing my arms. “But you’re not invincible, Mr. Hero. Just take it easy, okay?”Valor smirked and set the plates down. “Noted, Luna,” he teased, leaning in to kiss my temple.I was about to tease him back when the doorbell rang.“I’ll get it!” I called, wiping my hands on a dish towel. When I opened the door, I found a man standing there, looking slightly nervous. His arm was in a sling, and beside him stood a young woman, her beauty so striking it caught me off guard. She had long auburn hair and piercing green eyes, the kind of natural elegance that belonged in magazines.

The sun was beginning to set as I watched Valor load my mom, Leander, Freya, and their kids into his car. It had been such a nice day having them here, and seeing Valor get along with my family made my heart feel full. He even managed to survive Axton and Liora’s endless energy. I couldn’t stop smiling as they waved goodbye, my mom blowing me a kiss while Freya adjusted Liora’s seatbelt. “I’ll drive them home and be back soon,” Valor said before he got in the driver’s seat. His voice was steady, but I could see the flicker of exhaustion in his eyes. Still, he smiled at me, and it felt like we were slowly finding our way back to each other. “Drive safely,” I called out. He gave me a small nod before pulling out of the driveway. The sound of their car fading into the distance left the house unusually quiet. For a while, I busied myself cleaning up, putting away the dishes, and tidying the living room. But as the hours dragged on, an uneasy feeling started to creep in. By the time th

It was a typical Saturday morning when the doorbell rang. I was in the middle of tidying up the living room when I heard it. The sound of the doorbell made me freeze for a moment. I wasn’t expecting anyone, but as the familiar voices started floating from the entryway, I knew exactly who it was.I rushed to the door with a smile on my face, opening it to reveal my mom standing there with Leander, his wife Freya, and their two little troublemakers, Axton and Liora.“Mom!” I exclaimed, pulling her into a tight hug. “What are you guys doing here?”“Well, we figured we’d pay you a visit,” she said, beaming. “And since we haven’t seen Valor yet, we thought it was the perfect time!”I stepped back to let them in, but Axton and Liora were already making a beeline for the living room, shouting and laughing as they ran. They were little whirlwinds, full of energy. I couldn’t help but laugh as I watched them jump on the sofa, their laughter filling the house.Leander and Freya stepped inside,

The day had gone surprisingly well. Cooking with Valor had been more fun than I expected, and the pack members seemed genuinely pleased. For once, I felt like I was actually part of something. But as the evening rolled around, I found myself alone in the living room, my thoughts drifting.I didn’t expect Valor to come looking for me.“Lenora,” his deep voice called, pulling me from my thoughts.I looked up to see him standing at the doorway, his arms crossed, his usual intimidating aura softened slightly. His presence always made the room feel smaller, like there wasn’t enough space for the both of us.“Hey,” I said, trying to keep my tone casual. He stepped into the room, his footsteps heavy against the hardwood floor. “I was wondering where you disappeared to.”“Just needed some quiet,” I replied. “It’s been a long day.”Valor nodded, then hesitated, as if he was trying to find the right words. “About earlier... in the kitchen. I... appreciated that.”I blinked, surprised. Was he a

Lunch preparation with Valor started off awkward. I didn’t know if I should give him something simple to do, like peeling carrots, or risk asking him to chop something and lose a finger. I decided to play it safe.“Here,” I said, handing him a bowl of potatoes. “You can peel these. Easy job.”Valor gave me a flat look. “You don’t trust me with a knife?”“Not yet,” I teased, flashing him a grin. “Let’s start with something you can’t ruin.”He smirked but didn’t argue, grabbing the peeler and getting to work. Watching a powerful Alpha hunched over, struggling to peel potatoes, was oddly satisfying. He muttered something under his breath when the peeler slipped and nicked his thumb.“Careful,” I said, trying not to laugh.“I could be out training with the warriors,” he grumbled. “Instead, I’m peeling potatoes.”“You’re bonding with your Luna,” I shot back. “That’s more important.”He paused and looked at me, his piercing blue eyes softening just a little. “Yeah, I guess it is.”That cau

I followed Phoebe and Elara out of the house, a mixture of nerves and relief swirling inside me. Going shopping might be a good distraction, but I couldn’t shake the lingering weight of guilt and tension between me and Valor. Still, I needed this—some time to breathe, to feel normal, even just for a few hours. As we made our way to the nearby town, the crisp morning air felt refreshing. Phoebe was buzzing with excitement, chatting about sales and must-have items, while Elara chimed in occasionally, offering practical advice. I mostly listened, smiling when appropriate, but my mind kept drifting back to Valor and how cold he had been this morning. "Lenora, are you even listening?" Phoebe nudged me playfully, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Sorry, I got distracted," I admitted sheepishly. Phoebe rolled her eyes but smiled. "You’re thinking about Valor, aren’t you?" I hesitated before nodding. "It’s just... I don’t know how to fix things between us. I feel like everything I do only
