The letter arrived at dawn.

It was sealed with wax and smelled faintly of lavender and smoke — the scent Mrs. Woods remembered from the night she’d last seen Celeste. She’d been too desperate to question it. Inside, the handwriting was soft and slanted, feminine, like someone trying not to be recognized.

“If you want to save your daughter, there’s only one way.

Alpha Damien is suffering because the world believes she’s mad.

Remove him, and Taylor will be freed.
