Dominic’s POV

I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t even think. The only thing I could think of was to silence her, to stop those words of rejection from leaving her lips.

I instantly planted my lips against hers. Her lips were soft it tasted like strawberry. She stood frozen and at that moment, I knew i needed her, i needed her entire body, her soul, i needed every part of her. Every part of me screamed for her.

The matesbond was so strong, my wolf Ragner howled in my head, urging me to claim her right there, to make her ours again. But I couldn’t.

Not like this. Not when her eyes are still filled of with hatred.

She soon pulled away and pushed me off, her eyes were wide with shock and rage.

For a second, she just stared at me—like she didn’t know whether to slap me or cry.

“Don’t you ever touch me like that again,” she whispered, her voice shaking with anger.

I nodded and immediately dashed out of the room.

When I left, I took the longest route back to my quarters, hoping the cold night air would clear my head, but it didn't. The taste of her forbidden lips still remained — sweet, forbidden, maddening.

Ragner paced restlessly in my mind. You shouldn’t have stopped, he growled. She’s ours. She always was.

“Not like this,” I muttered under my breath. “Not when she looks at me like I’m the monster who ruined her life.”

I looked up at the moon and clenched my fists together in anger. The silver glow reminded me of her eyes, the same eyes that once looked at me with love, now filled with nothing but loathing.

But that wasn’t how it was going to end. No. I would make her forgive me.

I would make her see that I wanted her back and I regretted my mistake. I would make her feel the bond she keeps denying, I would make her love me again.

Even if it meant breaking every wall she built around her heart. Even if it took days, months, or years of being in my custody.

Because she was mine, my mate, my destiny and I wasn’t going to let her hatred be the final chapter of our story.

***

The next morning came too quickly. I barely slept my mind wouldn’t let me. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her face- angry, hurt, beautiful.

When the first rays of dawn crept through my window, I’d already made my decision. If she wouldn’t let me speak, then I’d show her. I’d remind her of the little things she used to love… the things only I remembered.

“Have her washed up and dressed,” I ordered the maid standing by the door. My voice was calm, but there was steel underneath. “And prepare her favorite meal.”

The maid hesitated. “Her favorite, Alpha?”

I looked at her sharply. “Salmon steak with honey-glazed potatoes and mint tea. Exactly the way she likes it.”

She bowed her head quickly. “Yes, Alpha.”

As she left, Ragner stirred inside me. Trying to win her over with food now? he teased.

“Shut up,” I muttered. “It’s not just food. It’s a start.”

A few hours later, I stood in the kitchen, staring at the tray the maids had prepared. The aroma was warm and comforting just like it used to be when she laughed at me for sneaking bites before dinner.

But this time, I didn’t call anyone to deliver it.

I picked up the tray myself.

Every step toward her room felt heavier than the last. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears part fear, part longing. The guards by her door looked startled when I appeared.

“Open it,” I ordered.

They did, without a word.

I stepped inside quietly. She was sitting by the window, her back to me, her hair loose and still damp from her bath. She didn’t turn around but I could tell she knew I was there. The bond made it impossible to hide.

“I brought you something,” I said softly, setting the tray down on the table. The words came out rougher than I intended.

But she didn’t reply.

I glanced at her reflection in the window. Her shoulders were tense qnd her jaw tight.

“It’s your favorite,” I added. “Salmon and honey potatoes, You need your strength, Lena. you have to eat."

Still she didn't reply me. I turned toward the door, but before I could leave, I heard her quiet voice behind me.

“Let me go, I have my life now. You can't keep me stuck here with you. I need to see my...my..."

Her voice broke before she could finish that sentence but she didn’t need to. I already knew what she wanted to say. Her human Lover? The thought burned through me like acid.

I turned slowly, my hands curling into fists at my sides. “Your what, Lena?” I asked, my voice low but steady. “Your what?”

She turned to look at me but refused to say anything. Her silence was worse than any answer she could’ve given. The way she looked at me in a calm, distant way as if I were nothing but a shadow from a life she no longer wanted — it tore something inside me.

“You won’t even deny it,” I said quietly, though my voice trembled with restrained fury. “You won’t even say you don’t belong to him.”

"Dominic! I wanna go home please!"

“I know you want to go,” I said quietly, keeping my tone calm, careful not to let my fury break through. “And you will… eventually. Help me first and after, you can go home!"

“Will I go home after helping you?”

Her question was soft , almost a whisper.

I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to stay even. “Yes,” I said. “After you help me, you can go home.”

She simply nodded. "Okay." I smiled, that was enough to buy me enough time to win her back and make her stay with me for good.

The kids followed me obediently, walking into the car. As soon as they got in, I had already prepared a handkerchief infused with a small portion of wolfsbane to knock them out. Just a little. Too much could cause permanent damage to the children—like losing their wolf forever. Liam and Logan peeped in first as they opened the car door, about to check whatever was inside. “Aunty Hailey, we can’t find anything. Where is the surprise you have for us?” Lisa queried, looking around curiously. “Yes, where is it?” Liam added. I slipped into the driver’s seat and shut the door quietly. The handkerchief was already in my hand. Without hesitation, I pressed it against their noses. They struggled for barely a second. Then their bodies went limp. Logan was still standing outside. After making sure the two inside were completely out, I leaned over and called softly, luring him closer. “Come here. It’s inside.” The moment he stepped in and bent forward, I covered his nose with the wolfsb

Hailey’s POVI had slept so soundly at night. Whatever was going on was none of my business, and whatever I was going to do today, I was going to do it without any human sympathy.I stretched from my bed and allowed the cool breeze to slap my face softly. Today, I was going to make a decision, and I would do it without blinking an eye.I had been to Elena’s place the previous day, and she had treated me like I was nothing, barely looking at my face.I looked over at the time to see it was just nine o’clock. Today is the annual Children’s Day celebrated only at the pack.Today, all the children would be out to play different activities, have fun, and create memories. But then, that meant one thing—Elena's precious triplets would be out as well. I gritted my teeth as I remembered Adrian’s threat. My father was in danger. And I knew Adrian meant every word when he said he would hunt him down.He never made empty threats. If I failed, my father would pay the price.I stood up from the bed

Dominic's Pov I had been patrolling the northern borders endlessly for three days now with no trace of Adrian. No scent. Nothing at all pointing in any direction. I clenched my jaw, my eyes scanning the thick line of trees ahead of us. The wind was extremely sharp tonight, colder than usual. I was getting agitated that a man like Adrian could be playing hide and seek with me and getting away with it. “Alpha!” My Gamma called, running over. “It’s getting dark. I think we should make camp here for the night. We will continue the search tomorrow.” I didn’t respond immediately. My wolf paced violently inside me, restlessly and furiously. He hated this. Hated the waiting. Hated the fact that our enemy was breathing somewhere out there. “What do you say, Alpha?” I tightened my jaw in irritation. “No!” I growled. I turned to look at my Beta, feeling agitated. “We are not camping tonight.” “But Alpha—” “No, Buts. That bastard is somewhere out here, breathing the same air as us whil

Hailey’s pov. I had locked myself up for 24 hours, unable to eat or sleep; I just kept staring at the window. The nerve of Adrian to think he could order me around as he wished. How dare him? He had rejected me, and now because of Elena, he wants me to kidnap Elena’s children for him? Who does he think he is? I exhaled. I was going to tell her the truth by fire, by force. I was going to inform my friend of this stupid, deadass plan. I quickly slipped into a comfortable gown, and within a few minutes, I was out of the house. I had heard rumors that they had moved into Dominic’s quarters because it was safer. Apparently, security had been tightened after Adrian’s escape: armed guards, restricted access, surveillance everywhere. Good. That meant they were protected. As soon as I got there, I froze. The place looked like a fortress. Two armed guards stood by the gate. Another patrol vehicle was parked by the side. My heart thudded in my chest, but I forced myself forward. “I’m

Elena’s POV. “Mummy, can I have some pancakes, please?” Lisa's sweet voice pulled me right back. I blinked, then smiled widely. “Of course, baby,” I said softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. She grinned, and her eyes lit up instantly. “Mummy! Me too,” Liam said as he stretched his arms, ready to collect the plate of food. I laughed softly. “Sit properly first.” He quickly adjusted himself, sitting straighter, like he was in school. Satisfied, I placed the plate in front of Lisa before serving Liam next. Liam didn’t even wait to hear Logan grunt before he passed the plate to him to take out as much as he wanted. “Hey! That’s too much!” Lisa complained immediately, seeing her brother scoop. Logan froze mid-scoop. “No, it’s not.” “It’s okay, Lisa, let’s share,” Liam said quickly, trying to sound like the mature one. Logan frowned. “I am sharing.” I pressed my lips together, fighting a smile. “Alright, that’s enough. Everyone will get the same.” I reached fo

I had just finished having breakfast a few minutes ago. My father’s health wasn't getting any better, and this had me so much on my toes. I stared outside the window. Rain was falling so heavily I couldn't even see the gates clearly. Everywhere felt blurry, just like my thoughts. But I didn’t care. I just needed to get out of the house, to sit at a place where I could feel the cold breeze on my cheeks. I soon dressed up, wore my coat, and in a matter of minutes, I was out of the pack with my umbrella on. I got into the car that was parked outside waiting for me. The driver drove me to a restaurant outside the pack. I just needed to feel an entirely different environment, something away from the pack that felt like a cage. As soon as I got to the restaurant, I sat at a corner, ordered a cup of coffee, and opened my laptop. I needed to check and reply to my mails. I had barely finished reading them when I felt a shadow approach me and loom over me. I looked up to see an unfamili
