Elena’s pov.

I felt pain exploded through my neck.

I gasped, my knees buckled as something hot and electric tore through my body. Dominic had marked me, right In front of everyone?

A strangled sound left my throat as my hands flew to his chest. I could feel the bond rushing into me all at once and i hated that part.

The field spun. I barely registered the crowd, there was stunned silence in the crowd, the way every single person stared at me like I had just become something else entirely.

Dominic stiffened and His claws finally retracted as he pulled back with horror on his face and his eeus focused and really focused on me in fear.

“Elena…” he breathed, his voice hoarse. “I—”

I pushed him back, It wasn’t hard. It didn’t move him an inch. But my action came from pure panic.

“Don’t touch me,” I whispered, my voice shaking. “Don’t you dare touch me.”

A murmur of shock and disbelief rippled through the pack. The Warriors kept their heads bowed, none of them were brave

“A news? What is that?”Hailey’s smile widened the moment she made that statement. I wondered what she had to disclose.“I got an offer,” she said finally. “A big one.”I blinked. “A big offer?”She nodded eagerly. “A job. A permanent position with the Crescent Medical Network. They want me in the capital.”My heart skipped. She got a job?“In the capital?” I repeated, just to be sure I’d heard her right.“Yes,” Hailey said, her voice trembling with excitement. “A real job, Elena. Full-time. Stable. No more running from one shift to another.”She let out a small laugh, pressing a hand to her chest. “They reviewed my records, my experience… and they chose me.”I stared at her, the weight of her words slowly sinking in. “Hailey… that’s incredible.”“I know,” she whispered. “They’re offering housing support too. And the pay…” She shook her head in disbelief. “It’s enough for me to finally breathe.”A smile tugged at my lips despite everything. “You deserve this. After all those nights yo

After I left Dominic’s room, I decided to had to Hailey’s house since it's been a while since my friend and I last saw. Thankfully, she was staying close by. I decided to talk a walk, which helped to clear my head for a little bit. When I got to Hailey’s place, I knocked lightly on the door. It swung open almost immediately, and her face lit up the moment she saw me. “Elena?” she exclaimed, pulling me into a tight hug. “I miss you." I hugged my friend tightly too. She had been busy juggling around her jobs, and I knew how exhausting that could be. “Hailey, I miss you too,” I said softly. She pulled back, holding my shoulders as her eyes scanned my face. “You look tired,” she said, frowning. “I heard about what happened. Are you okay?" I swallowed hard, the concern in her eyes almost undoing me. “I’m… managing,” I replied, though even to my own ears it sounded unconvincing. Hailey sighed and stepped aside. “Come in before you fall apart on my doorstep.” I followed

As soon as I got inside his chamber, the door shut behind us with a heavy thud that echoed far too loudly in the silence. Neither of us spoke at first. I could still feel the phantom pressure of his mark on my skin—the memory of it burned hotter than the fire in my chest. My fingers curled at my sides as I fought the urge to step back. “You shouldn’t have done that,” he finally said, his voice low. I let out a shaky breath. “You mean saving a child?” He turned then, slowly, his eyes finding mine. The anger I expected wasn’t there. What stared back at me instead was something far more unsettling, his eyes moved from my eyes down ro KY neck where he had marked me and I felt and unexplainable feeling of unease. He cleared his throat uncomfortably, “Elena, about what happened yesterday..” I waved my eyes trying to dismiss it, “Nevermind, do not talk about it.” I said calmly. “You hate me now, do you?” He asked. What he did has a great effect in the werewolf world but I was not a

“Stop!” I screamed, my voice cutting through the chaos before I realized I was already running forward. towards the scene Every head turned to me as soon as i got there. The guards froze mid-movement as the sword hovering inches away from the child’s neck. Alpha Dominic’s gaze snapped to me, sharply and dangerously. “What are you doing?” he demanded. My heart pounded violently against my ribs, but I forced myself to stand my ground. I stepped in front of the little girl, spreading my arms as if my body could shield her from death. “She’s just a child,” I said, my voice trembling but loud enough. “She had nothing to do with what they did.” Silence fell over the courtyard. I could feel dozens of eyes on me, some we

Elena’s pov Chaos went on in the pack followed by loud noises, I peeped over to see that the guards has assembled a few men and women before the castle waiting for Alpha Dominic to meet them. Shortly, Alpha Dominic stepped out with a cold expression on his face. “Who are you?” He asked roughly, “Alpha please spare us, we are refugees from the Dragonrod pack, our pack has been attacked and we were the only ones to escape” a woman answered. The Dragonrod pack and Drogomor Pack has been in conflict for a very long time, I once heard that they had resisted the alliance of Drogomor Pack to the point of even insulting Alpha Dominic’s authority, when he heard about then a frown formed on his face, why did he have to help them when they had mocked him and promised never to come to him for help. “Why should I care about you guys?” he said coldly, making the woman think twice if he would actually help them. The expression on his face showed he didn’t want anything to do with them. “Beca
