ALPHA DAMON POV

I left Pinnacle World and went back to the hospital, only to find out that Sarah had already left. On the quiet drive home, Myles didn’t say anything, and I couldn’t stop thinking about everything as we passed through the busy city.

Suddenly, I asked Myles why I wasn’t told about the office meetings on time. It was hard for him to answer quickly.

“I…I couldn’t tell you with everything going on. You were at the hospital and your attendant—”

“Those aren’t excuses,” I calmly interrupted. “You should have still told me.” I knew he didn’t mean to cause trouble, but part of me wondered if it was deliberate.

I stayed quiet as we drove home. First, I went to my room to freshen up, then I wanted to see Sarah. But I was surprised to find she wasn’t there.

“Who told her to work?” I asked the maid, annoyed. It worried me that she wasn’t in the house. Her absence always made me feel empty. I just wanted her with me.
