AURORA

The palace was extremely beautiful in all nooks and crannys. Damon and I stepped into an open space, and I stopped abruptly. My breath hitched.

Before me was a garden, but not just any garden; it was filled with only one flower; sunflowers.

I turned slowly, my vision blurry with emotion, and found Damon watching me. His gaze was filled with so much love it nearly crushed my chest.

“Do you like it?” he asked softly.

“H-how?” I wanted to ask, but I couldn’t even manage that. My heart was too full.

“When I found out you love sunflowers, I started calling you sunshine. You remember?” he stepped closer.

I nodded weakly, blinking back tears.

“I decided I wanted a garden filled with them. Just for you. When you left, this place became my solace. My escape. I would sit here for hours and talk to the flowers… imagine you listening.” He said, as his gaze was on me.

I let out a trembling breath. “You make me happy, Damon.” my voice broke as the words slipped from my lips.
