LOGINChapter Three
/-Tediora-/
MoonCrest Academy.
The most prestigious Alpha College in the city. It wasn't just any school, but the battleground of the strongest of the strongest.
That was the reason most Alphas needed bodyguards. With everyone competing and trying desperately to eliminate each other, the bodyguards were supposed to sniff out those traps and fend off the enemy, as well as strategise attacks.
The battle was for the Elite seats of the Werewolf Parliament. A chance to wield power over packs all over the world.
I stared at the license again. I had to dye my hair and chop it short for this. The number of chest binders in my bag was almost illegal. It would be so strange hearing people call me Alvin now.
According to this license, I was supposed to be guarding an Alpha of the ShadowFang pack. Dominic Zei.
“Out of my way!” I was shoved from behind, causing me to tumble forward. My eyes darkened as I glared at the Alpha who walked past me with his huge buffy bodyguard.
“If you weren't so blind, you would see this path is big enough for you to pass,” I muttered under my breath, reaching for my license, but before I could, a big foot stepped on it.
“What did you say, twig?!”
I looked up at the buff man. The alpha was standing aside with a smirk. Clearly, he instigated this to show off his huge bodyguard.
I stepped aside with a stoic expression. “If you're looking for a fight, you're not going to get one.”
I moved to the pavement and took a seat. “You can keep your foot on the license for as long as you want, I'm fine with waiting but the moment you take it off, I will snag it and you would have succeeded in wasting your precious time.”
“You little…!” He growled, storming towards me. I didn't break a second and dashed for the license. I manoeuvred in between his legs and grabbed my license before making a run for it.
I tried to dodge as many people as I could, and I could hear his thunderous growl in frustration. I chuckled to myself, only for my arm to be grabbed. I was slammed to the ground, and my ribs screamed, air knocked out of me like a vacuum had yanked it away. I let out a groan and winced as my body ached. That was Alpha strength.
Above me stood a man.
Turquoise eyes, long black hair, white tracksuit and a rose tattoo on his neck. He was lean and muscular with piercings and had this majestic,. powerful aura surrounding him. He bent over and picked up my license.
“Alvin Tang,” the words rolled off his lips like silk. He had a strong, addictive milky scent. Who the hell was this man?
Those stunning eyes flickered to me. “So my bodyguard is running away on the first day at work, huh?” His hand rested on his chin. It was covered in tattoos with rings on every finger. “What to do now…”
I blinked rapidly.
Great. The guy who flattened me like roadkill is my new boss.
The way he flipped me over and slammed me to the ground replayed in my mind. Why did a man with that kind of strength need a bodyguard to begin with?
He would have been worse off with the real Alvin. That jerk couldn't even throw a proper punch.
“From your eyes, I can see you've already deduced that you are useless to me…” he paused, pressing his foot harder on my chest. “You are.”
I felt like I was going to smash into a hundred pieces.
Goddess, I can't breathe!
“So you have thirty seconds to free yourself and keep your job, or smash to several pieces and lose your job, of course.”
It was crazy how he managed to remain so soft-spoken as he delivered that death threat.
This was just my first day, and I was already in a life-or-death situation. My eyes watered as I grabbed his foot, struggling to push it off.
“Tick-tock, Alvin,” he smirked, increasing the pressure. “How much do you think your body can take?”
‘Nothing. Nothing at all, you bastard! I don't have the strong build and hard muscles you men do!’ I screamed in my head as I struggled.
Calm the fuck down, Teddy! Think!
I could easily fling him away with my magic, but then I would be offering myself to be butchered. That was not in the plan.
I wheezed under his boot but controlled the panic. Slowly, I raised one hand in mock surrender, my fingers twitching just enough to make a point.
“You know,” I rasped, “putting your weight right there means you’re either not trained in pressure holds… or you’re deliberately making a mistake to test me.”
His eyes flickered, just for a second. Interest? Maybe.
I smiled through the pain. “You’re pressing on my sternum. A bit higher and I’d pass out. A bit lower and you’d risk crushing my heart with enough weight. But this?” I tapped my fingers gently against my collarbone. “This is just dramatic. You want a reaction. Not a kill.”
Then I shifted, subtly, just enough to let my fingers graze the pressure point behind his ankle, right beneath the Achilles tendon. I didn’t press hard. Just enough to let him feel a dull warning ache.
“I could drop you right now,” I said quietly. “But I won’t. Because if I did, I’d be confirming I’m dangerous. And I’m trying so hard not to get expelled on day one.”
His expression darkened. Was he amused? Irritated? Couldn’t tell. But he lifted his foot. Slowly.
I stayed on the ground for a beat longer, letting the blood circulate, then sat up and brushed myself off, casual as ever, even though I barely survived.
“I pass your test, Alpha?” I asked, raising a brow.
He hummed. “Barely. You’ve got guts, Alvin, to assume you could drop me, but I'll let you test that theory on Thoedore here.”
Theodore? Who is that now?
The thunderous growl behind me sent a shiver down my spine.
Please don't tell me…
Those angry eyes pierced through me as the sack of muscles approached me. I looked at Dominic, and a smirk played on his lips.
“You wanted to put someone down, right?”
Dammit, I know I said that but I was just bluffing.
There was a reason I ran from him in the first place!
The DuelKAII was panicking already. Today was the day I finally face my sister in battle before the entire MoonCrest academy. I could already see embarrassment staring me right in the face. Me, a wolfless, weak pathetic, wannabe “Lycan” prince against my brilliant, outstanding warrior princess. And of course, the better twin. It didn't matter how hard I trained in the last two weeks, it certainly didn't matter how much sleep I sacrificed. She would also be stronger and better than me. My palms were already getting sweaty.Every breath felt heavier than the last as I stood in the center of the arena, the cheers of hundreds of students echoing around me like thunder. I could feel their eyes on me, whispering, judging, waiting for the inevitable humiliation.“Don't worry, your highness,” Evanna took my hand with a bright smile. “Don't listen to what anyone has to say. I know you can do it. I believe you can do it. So go there and prove them wrong.” A small smile formed on my lips. “
KAII never thought a day would come where I would see Erys like this. I didn't even think it was possible to see him openly hug someone like that. Affectionately too. For some reason, my insides twisted. I didn't understand why I was feeling this way. I was probably confused. Maybe because I have never seen him like this. “What's going on?” Evanna whispered to my ears. “Are you seeing this?” “I am,” I whispered back but my voice came out shaky and I found myself impatiently counting the seconds they remained in each other's arm. All Erys had ever done since we met was threaten and hurt me. Why… why was my chest feeling tight then at the sight of him breaking before another man. “I missed you so much, little brother,” Erys said and my body stiffened. Brother? The tighteness in my chest slowly evaporated. Erys had a brother? And this was… him?“Brother?” Evanna whispered beside me. “How? He is an Alpha wolf. I don't smell any traces of magic in him.” I knew I wasn't tripping. Th
ERYSI barely heard what they said during their so called mentorship. My eyes wouldn't leave the redhead. My brain was working overtime, trying to piece two and two together. I spent years looking for him. Everyone I asked told me that my father took him after the ambush. But I knew my father didn't like Rhys that much. He had never shown any form of affection towards him since mother died. In fact, the man was twisted enough to hate his own son for his wife's death. Who knows what he did to him? Hell, he might have even tried to kill him himself. Honestly, I didn't even know how I survived that attack. I just woke up in a pile of bodies, my frail little body covered in blood. Since then, it was just me surviving on my own, until a kind witch family adopted me. But even they were killed. By these heartless wolves. It was the very reason I hated them with every part of my being. They took everything from me. But seeing Rhys here, I wasn't even sure how to feel. Does he remember
ERYSI moved to the front row and as expected, every single person on it moved back. I didn't even care. They could do whatever they wanted. I just wanted to get this over with. On the stage, about six chairs were set around the long table. So we were expecting roughly six guests then. Not sure why they had to be that many but I had a feeling this was going to be the longest lecture of all time. Students continue filling the hall and the scent of wolves and witches mixed together. It was tolerable to an extent as long as it was balanced. From the corner of my eye, I saw someone sitting four seats away from me. On the same row. Gasps followed immediately and I sighed, already knowing who it was. His floral scent followed him everywhere. I glanced at him and those blue eyes were staring back at me. Out of nowhere, his annoying bodyguard sat between us, blocking my view of him. I didn't understand why she was so damn annoying, acting like I was going to jump him any minute. I did
ERYSMoonCrest Bells woke me up from my sleep. I wasn't sure what they wanted this time but it was really annoying that they had to announce it so early in the morning. “All MoonCrest Students are expected to report in Hall C by 10 am prompt. We will be having important guests today so be on your best behaviour.” I scoffed as the intercom blew the information. Report in Hall C. That hall was only used for mentorship. So I'm guessing whoever these guests were must be really important people. Wolves probably. I rolled my eyes with disgust and fell back on my bed. The way I would prefer to skip this.About an hour later, I was out of bed and preparing for the so-called mentorship. I picked out a shirt and pair of jeans and ran my hands through my hair because I honestly couldn't deal with a comb right now. I opened my door to find Daisy waiting with a huge grin. Disdain curled in my chest but I averted my gaze instead and shut the door behind me.“Good morning, Erys,” she grinned. “
EVANNAI turned to her with a puzzled expression. “Were you following me?” I asked her and she rolled her eyes. “Why would I follow you? Don't think too highly of yourself,” she huffed. I furrowed my brows. “Really? Cause the last I remember, you were in the training grounds so it's kind of hard to tell what you are doing behind me now.” “Don't try to be the smart ass,” she hissed. “You have nothing worth following. I was going after Erys and you just happened to be in my way. Now I know you have no business with him so would you mind explaining why you've been following him?” I crossed my arms. “As a matter of fact, I do mind.”Her eyes darkened. She was getting irritated by my insolence. And I couldn't have felt any prouder of myself.“For a mere omega, you sure have audacity. You seem to be forgetting that i can tear apart, limb by limb and no one would question so stop letting your employment status get into your head. You are disposable!” She growled, stepping forward. Eve
