Chapter Two
/-Tediora-/
“A girl? As a bodyguard?” The voice was laced with mockery. “How could a frail creature like you possibly protect an Alpha?”
My fists clenched as I glared at the registrar. He leaned in and sniffed me. His eyes glinted with amusement.
“An omega wolf, too?” He laughed heartily. “Please go buy yourself some nice dresses and hunt for a man to marry you. You already have the beauty, I'm sure that will be pretty easy for you.”
The insult made my blood boil, and I wanted to slam his face against that desk and teach him some manners, but I couldn't. That would draw attention from these cocky males who might suddenly want to prove something.
So I took out the poster instead.
“No gender was specified here, so I thought…”
“You should have used some common sense to discern that when Alphas send out bodyguard requests, they are typically looking for Betas and Gammas!” He snapped at me. “Get lost, I have to attend to other people in line.”
I could feel the pain in my knuckles from how hard my fists clenched. I desperately needed this because it was the only way I could get into MoonCrest Academy. The only way I could stay close to my targets.
“Should I call security?” His tone was irritated, now and then, something flashed in his eyes. “Or maybe you can wait in the back. I will come attend to you specially after work,” he winked.
My fists moved on their own, connecting to his face before I knew it. He fell backwards, groaning and cursing.
“Asshole!” I huffed and stomped out of the building.
As I walked home, my mind raced with different thoughts. If I couldn't even register for the training because of my gender, how the hell was I going to obtain a license?
I was still thinking about this when my ears registered something. There were several footsteps behind me. Three people.
I stopped walking and turned around. Knowing I sensed them, they gave up and came into my line of sight.
“So this is the feisty one, huh?” One commented. I could smell the lust oozing from them. “The one who wants to be a bodyguard.”
“Isn't she adorable?” Another drawled. “She throws a good punch, too. Broke Mr Gordon's nose.”
I didn't move an inch backwards as they circled me.
“It's a shame she won't be able to put up a good fight with all three of us, but she can try. It makes it more exciting anyway.”
A wave of disgust hit me. These were the people befitting to be bodyguards? No moral sense, no discipline, just a disgusting bunch of assaulters.
I flicked my forehead. It was my fault for having such high expectations. Mariel was always too good for them.
“You won't say anything?” the blonde one asked. “If you beg, we might just let you go.”
I took out my hairband and packed my hair into a ponytail.
They talk too much too.
They laughed as they saw me roll up my sleeves.
“She really thinks she has a chance. Do you know Alvin is a licensed bodyguard?” The dark-haired one said, pointing at the blond. “He will crush you to pieces. Just be a good girl and surrender. Take off your clothes and it will be over before you know it.”
My eyes flickered to the blond.
Licensed bodyguard, huh? Now that was the only thing they've managed to say that caught my interest.
If I have the license, I don't have to go through the long training process.
I want that.
My expression darkened, and that eerie calm settled over me.
Three seconds.
That’s all I needed.
The blond, Alvin, apparently lunged first, aiming to grab me by the arms. His speed was impressive… for someone who thought strength meant flailing wildly.
I sidestepped him smoothly and slammed my elbow into his throat. He choked, gasped for air, and stumbled back just as my foot came up and cracked against his knee with a sharp pop. He dropped like a sack of bricks, howling.
"One."
The dark-haired one, probably thinking I was distracted, came from behind. Classic mistake. I pivoted mid-air, twisting my body with controlled precision, and drove my heel right into his face. Blood spurted from his nose as he staggered backwards, straight into my fist.
His head snapped back, and he dropped to the ground, out cold.
"Two."
The last guy, the one who kept calling me adorable, froze in place. His cocky grin had vanished, replaced by raw fear.
He turned to run.
Bad idea.
I shot forward like a shadow, caught him by the back of his collar, and slammed him face-first into the alley wall. He crumpled, twitching.
"Three."
Silence. The kind that made the wind seem louder than it was.
I adjusted my ponytail and looked down at the mess at my feet. Alvin was groaning, the dark-haired one wasn’t moving, and the third was moaning against the wall, dazed.
I crouched beside Alvin, taking his license from his shirt pocket and whispered coldly, “Thanks for the license tip, pretty boy. I’ll be taking that off your corpse of ego.”
Then I stood, dusted off my clothes, and walked away without looking back.
Let them explain to their Alpha how they got wrecked and robbed by an omega girl who “should be shopping for dresses.”
The walk home seemed longer than usual. For safety reasons, we were tucked behind the mountains, shielded with a barrier of magic that kept us invincible to outsiders.
As I approached the entrance, the barrier sucked me in and the first person I saw was my mother. Her worried eyes and stiff shoulders. It sagged in relief the minute I made it through.
“Teddy!” The children playing around squealed and came running to me. I smiled and scooped all of them in a big hug.
Our community was so small that we knew everybody. Knowing that everyone here was most likely the last of our kind was scary, but I was determined to fulfil my brother's dream.
I will make the world safe for all of us again. But before that, I was going to take those scums who unjustly took his life. That was my biggest goal for MoonCrest Academy. Revenge.
“Ted…” My mother's voice drew my attention, and I dropped the kids. They didn't waste time running off to continue their games. “You really went, didn't you?”
“They didn't let me register,” I told her, and relief washed through her. I wasn't angry at her for wishing for my failure. Since we lost Mariel, both her and father have been afraid and more protective of me.
They couldn't afford to lose me, too. While I understood that, I wasn't just going to let my brother's killers go unpunished.
“But I got a license,” I finished, taking out the card from my pocket. “Alvin Tang.”
Her eyes widened. “How did you…”
“Took it as compensation from a rapist,” I shrugged. “I'm going to the academy, mother. You can't stop me.”
“You are so stubborn, just like him,” her eyes watered. “Can't you just let this go for my sake? You're putting your life in danger and…”
“I'll be fine, mother,” I cut her short. “And no… I will not let it go. I will bring their heads to Mariel's grave, I promise you.”
Chapter 118Don't stop me now./-Tediora-/I turned away from him and looked outside the window. None of us said anything for a second till I felt his hand on my shoulder, pulling me back slightly. He then turned me to face him and just eneh I did,I felt his lips on mine, kissing me.I froze for a second before melting where I sat, kissing him back.He pulled closer to me and the seatbelt cut into my shoulder as his chest pressed against mine. His mouth was warm and insistent, as his tongue dug into my mouth that I couldn't help but moan into his.His hand found my face and he held on to me gently as though he was scared that I would disappear. My hands trembled before finding their way into his hair. The strands were damp with sweat, sticking to my fingers, but I tugged him closer anyway. His low growl vibrated against my lips, making my entire body heat. When his tongue sucked mine, my breath hitched. I gave in, parting my lips fully, and the kiss deepened.Everything that had be
/-Tediora-/“Why not?” he said, adjusting himself before continuing.“They're children… gullible, easy to manipulate, and they wouldn't stress as much as adults would.” he shrugged, and my disgust only grew.“Do you plan to change?” I asked and he burst out laughing, his shoulders shaking.“Change? Never.” he didn't stop laughing as though I had cracked an extremely funny joke. I couldn't take it anymore. I leaned down and grabbed him by his neck, strangling him with all I had in me.There was no way I would let someone like him live. After everything…He choked as his eyes widened when he saw the fury in mine. For the first time since the beginning of the battle, I saw fear, and I revelled in it.There were distant noises from the others at me but I couldn't make out what they were saying. My mind was focused on Caius.Till it hit me. Tamar.“Well. I guess this was boring.” Tamar said from behind me.I spun around on time to duck as he swung a fist, letting it hit his brother instea
Chapter 116Why children?/-Tediora-/ I finally opened my eyes and turned around to see that the battle was still going on. I rushed to my feet and ran out of the bushes but I suddenly paused. My body felt lighter and my injuries… they weren't hurting anymore. Was this because of her? I didn't dwell on it for too long as I notice Tamar. He was bloodied and you could barely make out his features. Although, the children had fallen in exhaustion and the fact that the witch no longer controlled them, the adult rouges were still going strong and most of the people from the academy had suffered more injuries than our opponent.Caius found me staring at him and he turned to me with an ugly frown on his face. “This was your fault wasn't it?”he asked, gesturing towards the fallen children on the floor. He looked menacing that before and I should have denied it so that his ficus wouldn't be on me but all eyee were on me at this point and it was as though time had frozen and it was only I an
Chapter 115Another one like me./-Tediora-/I pushed harder, pushing him back. He tumbled backwards and fell to the ground before laughing hysterically. “I like you,” he said, still laughing like he had lost his mind. “What is it that you want? This is madness.” I yelled, my throat aching. He smiled wickedly at me before muttering those words“Power.”And with that, he pushed his blade harder, smirking manically. The blade inched closer to Tamar’s throat, the rogue’s strength bearing down against mine. My arms trembled with the effort of holding it back, and every nerve screamed at me to let go.The man looming over me, turning to Tamar still growing in the ground, sneered. “You’ve grown weaker, brother.”Brother?Tamar froze for a split second, his arrogance flickering into raw hatred. His jaw clenched, lips curling into something feral. “Caius,” he spat like venom, shoving at my shoulder to break free. “I should’ve killed you years ago.”Caius. The name settled in my mind like l

Wouldn't we?” I commented, and his face scrunched up in a frown. He was about to repeat something when the speakers echoed, announcing that the vehicles would soon leave and we should be prepared.I made sure my weapons were tucked into my waistbands before looking back at him, giving a slight nod, and walking away. Theodore followed behind me.“Do you think it was wise to say that to his face?” he asked. “I mean, he's the one leading this mission.” I just shrugged. As much as this was training for us, it was still a mission and if we were unsuccessful in general, the council would not let us hear the end of it.Rhys was there already, leaning against a vehicle, his expression was stiff.
