Partial Amnesia

The child stood right under my glare with skin so smooth and well tanned that I couldn't help but admire it.

"Mother," he called again with great enthusiasm, a wide grin laced to his brows. My eyes flickered uncontrollably as I tried to place the picture together.

I was still in the process when he ran into me, causing me to stagger. He was handsome and had the fairest skin I had ever laid my eyes on.

"Mom? Why do you call me Mom? Am I your mom?" I asked in a low, whispering voice, though I expected no response from him. He was only a child and couldn't speak.

From nowhere, I heard a clear and distinct voice that made me shudder. I raised my head to see who it was but there was no one there. I was greeted by a thick fur of shadow.

"Have you seen how much the boy admires you and the touch on his face as he ran into you?" The voice asked It became quite still and sank right into my mind.
