The day whirled by, slower than typical. Perhaps because I was looking forward to seeing Scott tonight, the day for some reason crawled like a snail. I recalled going back to the room after our short mischief to rest after which I had retreated down back to Taylor's room to stay with him. Initially, when I came, he had slept off as though he hadn't slept wherever Scott had hidden him.

After that, I was bored and fathomed Taylor might need air- he had been cramped inside for a while. Again, I had no idea where he was retained before if came out. Though I doubted that.

We were in the living room, the evening drawing near and my eyes heavy from too much wine. Anna had gone off after we came out of the conservatory and wandered off where I couldn't tell. Maybe running in the woods. I hoped she was okay.

"Look how lovely those eyes are, my love," I cooed at Taylor who gaped at me as if he couldn't get enough of me. His eyeballs were bold and bright just like his father's. He was a
