Aria’s POV

He lifts her off the ground, her body facing me.

Her eyes were in sheer panic as she struggled to claw at his fingers and yet all I could feel was Talas happiness. Her pure delight that someone else was doing the killing and that she got to watch on through my eyes.

Did I want to stop it? Yes. Could I? No. Because the truth was, only a small part of me hoped that she would survive it.

You hate her as much as I do! Tala shouts gleefully.

As the light faded from her eyes, I felt a huge wave of guilt.

Don’t do this Aria, she needs to die!

“Ryan, stop!”

His dark amber eyes peer over Diamonds shoulder at me, “What?”

“If you kill her, we won’t be able to hide for much longer.”

“It doesn’t matter. You can take your place and lead the others.”

“No.”

“You are more than capable Aria, it is who you were supposed to be.”

“Ryan, please don’t do this.”

He watches me before finally releasing her. “Atlas says you are making a mistake.”

Pfft, of course he thinks that.
