EVELYN’S POV

I looked at him with a surprised expression. I had only known him for a few minutes, and he was already driving me crazy.

“I'm quite sure you haven't gone deaf,” he muttered without sparing me a glance.

“Just who the hell do you think you are?” I felt like punching him in the face.

“You wanted to marry me badly, remember?” He scoffed nonchalantly.

I felt my anger rising rapidly. I took deep breaths to calm down.

“Well, I'm not interested in getting married to a stupid narcissist,” I said bluntly.

His hands seemed to freeze mid-air over his tablet. I could feel the coldness emanating from his body, and for the first time ever, I felt intimidated.

“Stop the car,” he commanded.

The car came to a halt immediately. He finally raised his head to look at me.

“Get out,” he spoke calmly.

I didn't move an inch. “Are you asking me to get out of your car?” I asked, wanting to be sure I heard right.

“Get out!” he barked.

I flinched backward and immediately got out of the car.

“I'm sure you can find your way home,” he added.

The car zoomed off, leaving behind a cloud of dust.

“Argh!” I screamed out in frustration and anger.

My heartbeat had increased rapidly, and all I wanted at that moment was to put a bullet through his motherf*cking skull.

While I was still trying to process what had happened, he drove back to where I was standing. I immediately thought he had had a change of heart, but to my greatest surprise, the window rolled down. He threw my stuff out of the car onto the asphalt before driving off again, leaving me stranded once more.

“Asshole!” I looked like a maniac, yelling in the middle of the road.

I took deep breaths to calm down before taking out my cell phone. I angrily dialed the number belonging to Mr. Glenn, the supposed father of Rosetta.

“That asshole kicked me out of his car!” I yelled without reservation as soon as the line connected.

“Slow down, Rosie, and talk to me,” he spoke calmly, but I felt my anger level rising.

“Come pick me up right now!” I yelled again. I could tell I was already being stared at by passersby.

“Stop yelling and tell me where you are, Rosie.” Mr. Glenn was at a loss as to what was going on with his daughter. Of course, he was surprised that his once-quiet daughter was actually throwing a tantrum.

“I don't freaking know! That bastard kicked me out of his car! Argh!”

I threw the cellphone away angrily as my heartbeat accelerated. I looked around, and sure enough, people were staring.

“What are you looking at, doucheface?” I half-yelled at a kid who was staring at me weirdly. He looked away in fear.

A few minutes later, a car from the Glenn Mansion located me. I was driven back to the estate, just as I remembered from Rosetta's memories.

The car pulled up at a glamorous mansion. It was guarded, but unfortunately, it wasn't as heavily guarded as I thought. I could easily break through the entire security detail without breaking a sweat.

I scoffed as I got out of the car. The guards immediately bowed respectfully to welcome their Young Miss back.

“Welcome home, Young Miss.” The old butler greeted me with a bow before helping me out of my jacket. He led me inside while a guard collected my stuff.

“Thank you... em...” I glanced at him, searching my memory for his name before speaking. “Silas.”

“I am at your service,” he responded calmly as he led me through the lobby.

I couldn't help but look at the place. I nodded with a smirk of approval as I admired the architecture. Finally, we arrived at Rosetta's room, and I was blinded by the colors.

“Pink! Who paints their room pink?” I half-yelled.

He looked at me with a surprised expression. “You did, Ma'am,” the butler simply replied.

I heaved a sigh. “This is a disaster,” I mumbled to myself as I threw myself onto the couch.

“Is there anything you need, Ma'am? I'll be happy to help.”

It was the very first time someone had been extremely respectful to me, and it felt weird.

“Have someone do something about this room, and get me a new phone,” I ordered. “That would be all, Silas.”

He bowed once again before walking away, leaving me all alone in the princess-like room.

Once he was gone, I stood up and locked the door before taking a proper look around.

“So, this is your room, huh?” I mumbled as I inspected the place. I also did a tour around her walk-in closet, which was bigger than my entire old apartment. “I see you have been living a rather good life. Too bad someone doesn't want you here.”

A knock landed on the door. I went over to open it and found the butler waiting.

“Your phone, Ma'am.” He handed me a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max, which I accepted before shutting the door.

Just as I thought I was going to get some peace and quiet, the door was pulled open again. The mother-and-daughter duo walked in with fake smiles plastered on their faces.

“What do you want?” I asked with a frown.

They shared a knowing look.

“How dare...”

Ivy cut her mother off. She moved closer and wrapped her arm around mine, acting coquettishly. It made me quite uncomfortable. She glanced at her mother with a knowing expression plastered on her face.

“Are you mad at me? You know it was an accident, right? I should have stopped you from drinking earlier,” she lied through her teeth.

I glared at her.

“What?”

Mr. Glenn's eyes were clouded with thought, his mind trying to piece together the puzzle Ivy was laying out."There's more," Ivy pressed on, desperate to convince him. "She's mean to Gabriella, her assistant, they were more or less the real sisters here. The old Rosetta would never treat someone like that not to talk of Gabriella."Ivy took a deep breath before delivering her final blow. "And the office, Dad. She asked you for a bigger one at the company. You know Rosetta was always contented with the office given to her. Why did she then want it bigger all of a sudden. She's different, Dad. She's not the Rosetta we knew."Mr. Glenn finally spoke, his voice low and dangerous. "If what you're saying is true, then we are in big trouble. We need to be sure about this before we make any moves. The Carters are not a family to trifle with."Mrs. Glenn nodded.

We need to be gone before Rosetta comes for us.""I'm not running away," Ivy stated, her voice firm despite the fear that clung to her every word. "The farther I am from Williams, the closer he gets to her. I can't lose to her, Mom. I didn't lose to the real Rosetta, and I won't lose to this fake one."Mrs Glenn's brows creased in confusion as she turned to her daughter and she stopped pacing. THIRD PERSON POVEvelyn's eyes slowly opened the next morning. The room was bright with sunlight, and for a moment, she didn't remember where she was or how she got there. All she could feel was pain. Then, the memories of the last night rushed back. She felt her heart beat faster as she remembered being in the Van with Bruce and his stupid men, and then she was taken to that hotel and met with Amira again. She tried to sit up, but her head spun making her dizzy, and she lay back down with a groan. "You're awake," a deep manly voice said. Evelyn turned her head and saw Williams sitting by the bed. He had a serious look on his face, so serious that you couldn't even guess his thoughts at all. "How do you feel?" he asked."Like I've been run over by a truck," she said, trying to make her voice sound light, but she was still feeling weak. Williams stood up and poured her a glass of water from a bottle on the nightstand. "Drink this," he said, his voice gentle yet stiff. She could tell he

And soon, he couldn't take it and kissed her back."Williams I need-" Rosetta tried to tell him she needed air, but he didn't let her move, neither did he give her a breathing space.
